I’m a mother to three toddlers, so I’m no stranger to Payless. I won’t lie. I buy my kids the cheapest shoes I can because what’s the point of dropping serious cash on something that gets worn a few weeks before it’s outgrown? I’ve been to this store plenty of times and been a loyal Payless customer, in general, for several years now. Today was the last straw. I’ve recently dealt with a totally pathetic attempt to win me back as a customer when I complained to their customer service line because their website was not honoring an active coupon. As an apology, a month later, the mailed me a $ 5 off $ 25 purchase coupon – I get more valuable coupons than this in my email regularly! Their stupid BOGO deals they offer every month are a better deal than that. Anyway, I begrudgingly return to Payless as I’m in need of some shoelaces at the last minute and I’m already shopping nearby. I get the laces and as the guy is ringing them up, I swipe my card. He looks at computer and says out loud, «The hell is that?» in confusion. Apparently, the computer gave him some weird error over my $ 2 transaction and this puzzled him but nobody could seriously argue with me that it is appropriate or necessary to talk like that in front of kids when you’re working at your job. I don’t claim to be holier-than-thou, but the guy had no business talking like that around customers, much less the under-4-feet crowd. Done with Payless.

Just picked up some cute purple high heels to wear to my friends wedding. Only $ 15! The girl working was super helpful, I told her what I needed and she immediately brought me the perfect pair.

I love payless! For whatever reason, Payless shoes are the only shoes that do not hurt my feet. I bought a pair of sandals over the weekend, love them — they are very comfy — but they were $ 18. Seems a bit pricey for Payless. But I needed them and they fit… Customer service was very friendly.

I was the only person in the store and the sales associate didn’t rush me or push me into buying anything I didn’t want… which was really really nice. I also mentioned that I needed inserts to help my back and she let me try the samples and I was able to find one that really helped. I’ll come back if I need more shoes :)

I took my 2 year old here today to get him some new play shoes. His size changes nearly every month and I am over paying out the butt for StrideRites. Payless prices seem a lot more reasonable. Too bad they only have like 5 different styles for little boys to choose from. The girls on the other hand had more like 20 different styles. What’s up with that?! Apparently American Eagle sold their name out to Payless. I saw some American Eagle flip flops with the bow and little metal charm that are clear knockoffs on the BeBe flip flops I bought at Macy’s last summer. Naughty, Naughty… The sales lady was really nice. She greeted us upon arrival and she even gave my son a few stickers. She was not pushy at all. The store was also really clean.
