Tio’s Grille & Cantina

My new favorite spot! I came here yesterday and ordered the shrimp and fish tacos. They were Amazing! I love how everything is fresh with flavor! I also ordered the watermelon jalapeño margarita, it was delicious! Not too sweet w/​a kick of spiciness. The service was great and the place is nice! Would definitely recommend it to family and friends!

Fajitas were amazing, cooked properly and still juicy! I will definitely be coming back!

This place I strange, all the girls taking orders look like they hate their job. They are rude their attitudes fit their food… It sucks, I had a large menudo that had so much fat on the top of it. The caldo was not even hot. My menudo smelled like ass. Their beans taste old like their tortillas. The only good thing was the Corona I had, my family didn’t even finish their meals. It was that bad! The only positive thing other than the beer was the girl that brought our food. I don’t recommend this place at all, drive further south on Sierra and have a real meal. This is one of those spots that deserves zero stars. One of the worst Mexican place I’ve been to. Management needs to make a lot of changes.

Go to the bar section. The have a higher end menu and separate chef. Food is excellent!

Went here with my girlfriend to enjoy some fresh Mexican food and a couple drinks and it is not what I expected. They’re located with Tios Mexican Grille however the cantina is completely separate (although they’re attached and you walk between both stores) so you can’t order any of the amazing food from the restaurant side.
They have a small menu with higher end pricing and selection to choose from sucks.
They have great beer on tap though and the visuals/​décor is decent.
It’s worth going for drinks only…

A new sweet local’s bar with a down town vibe. The server’s and bartender’s are awesome, friendly and helpful. I feel comfortable enough to come alone and make friends with the regulars there because the bartender’s are always welcoming. Ive gone when it’s packed and when its mello. Always a good time at the cantina

Wow! I needed a spoon or straw to try to eat the Huevos Rancheros. And there was no tortilla under the raw «sunny Side up» eggs. I’d post a picture but it look gross. I left feeling very very hungry. Oh and the salsa for the chips was like tomato sauce.

Wow, just wow. So if you give your honest opinion on this restaurant, one of their regulars or employees. Frank C I am talking about you, will send you a message criticizing your opinion. And that’s all it is folks, my opinion. But what is Unilocal but a forum to state your opinion. And I admit that I have never had more than appetizers and drinks here, I actually stated that in my review, and my comment was that both the appetizers and margaritas were mediocre at best. And yes, my other negative is that I don’t want to have a whole restaurant to myself, I enjoy somewhere more lively. If you prefer to dine in relative solitude, then have at it. And while I have been Unilocaling for years, this is the first time I have received a comment discouraging me from ever Unilocaling again. I «Frankly», took it as a compliment. So to that, I say ridiculous. Life is short, you may as well, eat food that is worth it…

The chilaquiles were good and my sis liked the burrito. The TV’s are great! At least we have a place to watch the games. But the pancakes and eggs were not worth my money. Pancakes should never be this dry!

I was in here with a large party on 8 – 16 Sunday afternoon. The food was great the service was also fabulous, and the drinks are unique and tasty. Try the Spicy Watermelon Margarita or the Michelada… yummy! The Chicken Habanero dish is scrumptious as is the mole dish and the trio appetizer and the filet mignon melts in your mouth!

Just got finished eating here Friday night 6:30. Let me start by saying I came by last week on Friday and did not eat. Both nights they only had bar patrons. The food table are empty. This is why, first off there prices are very high for Mexican food. The type of food is not what you would expect. Steaks, pork chops? I had a carne asada burrito. It was not hot just warm. Yuk I like my food hot. The flavor was ok but next door you can get the same burrito for half the price. They have a full bar that was good if you need a drink. Service was very good, place was clean, but the menu and prices need work in my honest opinion. I give it a two because the only thing worth it to me was the nice service.

Very disappointed, had to wait forever for the food to finally get there. Yes they are part of Tio’s Mexican food, but really, They Charged an extra $ 5.00 for the same Fajita Plate you can get next door??? And it came out of the same KITCHEN!!! Guess I will stick to Tio’s TACO TUESDAYS, First and last time I go to the Grille & Cantina.

This is a great add on to the existing «Tio’s Restaurant «. Tio’s grill & Cantina is located next to Boston’s in the Sierra Lake’s area bringing a nice twist to traditional Mexican food while serving up great local beers and some nice mixology. The food is «gourmet Mexican» and is very friendly to the palette. Much different from the standard southern border flair. The decore is awesome and the service, provided by the amazing staff, is great and makes you feel right at home… unlike the neighboring chain restaurants. I am so happy to have found this place and being my third visit, it definitely won’t be my last!

I love their burritos it’s big and the steak it’s delicious and juicy gets very busy but you have to grow a little more and the wait is good but need to give a little more tortilla chips with salsa

Stopped in for happy hour — as we are regulars at Tio’s — and decided to try the new cantina. Our margaritas were delicious — I would recommend the guacamole but the tacquitos and quesadilla were lackluster — if you are a fan of Tio’s — order your margarita from the bar and your food from the other side of the restaurant.

I was also there the night of the grand opening. Our service was also slow, our server was ok at best. Drink refills took a long time. They should probably promote the host to server because she had more enthusiasm for coming to see how our experience was than our own server. She literally came by to check on us regularly… And our server was rarely coming by.
The ambience of the place is nice. It’s great to have another nice bar in the area. It seems like it will be a great place to catch all the soccer matches, since Boston’s pretty much refuses to play them unless it’s the World Cup and the U.S. is playing.
The bartenders seemed to be very good at entertaining the guests and chatting it up. This is an important part of bartending; I did it myself for nearly 10 years. However, it led to a lack of diligence in making drinks. It took us over 10 minutes to get a refill on a glass of wine; not a mixed drink, but a drink that is simply poured into a glass. And there were multiple bartenders that night, so there is no reason that one shouldn’t be the service bartender, and the other helping the belly up guests.
The food was good. Nothing to complain about there. However, for that price point, we will probably eat somewhere else.
It’s interesting that you can go get drinks from the cantina, and take it into Tio’s next door. But you can’t get food from Tio’s and bring it into the cantina. I don’t even think there are tacos on the menu… So, any sort of taco Tuesday promotion is already out the window.
My wife and I will probably stop in to have drinks and watch a game here and there, as it seems to be a great atmosphere for that. But we’ll probably eat next door first, or somewhere else altogether.
We do hope to see the service improve with time… As we are excited to see businesses growing in San Bernardino.

Great new bar/​restaurant! The décor is great and the employees are very friendly. I had a delicious shrimp cocktail and then the pork in green chile sauce. They also have a great selection of beers and cocktails. It’s a small-​ish space so it has a great ambiance to it. I strongly recommend checking it out!

You know living in New York I really miss good Mexican food like at this great new spot in Fontana. I was back in SoCal recently and went into this place and I was like «whaaaaat? this place is in the IE? this could TOTALLY be somewhere like East West L.A. or maybe even North South Pasadena!» It’s like a regular Tio’s except slightly fancier in terms of the décor, cocktail menu, etc. It’s definitely trying to be a bit more upscale but still approachable and most importantly the same quality food as the other Tio’s locations. My favorite is the carne asada burrito — it’s sick, bro! The bar area is mad comfortable and there are hella TVs. Can you say happy hour? If you’re in Sierra Lakes you literally have to check it out.

I came to the Grand Opening on Sat… I was actually invited after management saw my raving review on their Eastvale location. So that was very cool. I even got to meet the owners wife and she was great… very friendly & thanked me for my previous review.
They just opened, so I totally understand why it took longer for our waitress to come over, take our order & bring us the check. It was slow at the start, but she redeemed herself by refilling our chips basket & my drink without us asking. The food was good, although a very limited menu, so I’ll of course be back when there are more options… and will update my review. So will definitely be going back soon!

Beautiful bar and décor. Very helpful staff. The beer tasted so good I’m guessing because the lines are new and fresh. Food is a bit pricier than the tios side, but your passing for the ambience. The owners definitely spend some money on this place. Will be hanging out in there quite a bit I think.
