Good food, but wish they would open up the patio so we could sit outside.

We come here often. EXCELLENT value and friendly staff. Come early to beat the rush. Omelets are cooked just right(not over cooked). Great Ham and egg special week days: a regular Ham and egg breakfast, potatoes, toast, the works for $ 4.99. Veggie Benedict is a winner too. All in all a very good breakfast spot!

was one of my families favorite breakfasts. went this past weekend, all new staff, food was mediocre. to top it off the waitress dumped a full jar of syrup down my shirt and lap. accidents happen and I completely understand that, but afterwords they didn’t offer any kind of discount on my bill as I am sitting there covered in syrup. I couldn’t believe it. if I had thrown a fit they would have comped the whole thing but because I was cool about it they don’t do squat. then as we are checking out the cashier never once says how was your meal? the only thing out of her mouth was, would you like to add a tip to your bill? Horrible… and sad, we will NEVER be back

If I can give a negative star this restaurant would get one. I had breakfast here. Who can screw breakfast up you ask? the answer is the waffle barn. I had the homemade corned beef hash, toast and country fried potatoes. the country fried potatoes had bell peppers WTF, the corned beef was not corned beef I have no idea what process they put this beef through but it definitely was not corned. and they do not use butter they use margarine GROSS

The waffle barn has a fabulous breakfast menu and lunch!.. My husband and I enjoy eating there about once a week. Most all the waitresses and staff are extremely sweet people, except for one waitress named, Katherine, who is extremely rude and just down right mean spirited. I hope management see this post and has a talk with her regarding her people skills. Thank you!

Great food and great prices. You are served in large portions so you will leave full or with left overs. I had the basic waffle with chicken strips and fries. The waffle batter was light and flavorful followed by creamy butter and a light flavored syrup. I am picky about syrup because I have had syrups that are so sweet you can’t really enjoy the waffle. I give the waffle a 5⁄5! The chicken strips had a good coating of batter, no real seasoning, but tasty nonetheless. The fries were mediocre. They had no real flavoring and they were very thick cut whereas I am a fan of thinner cut fries. The waitress kept our waters full and checked on us frequently to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. Overall, a great first experience and we will definitely be back.

We went here on a Wednesday at 1:30. The sign said they close at 2. As soon as we were seated we were told the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes so we needed to hurry and order. A few minutes later someone started to vacuum across the restaurant floor from us. Our food arrived quickly but was underdone, the sausages were raw inside and the eggs tasted of something else that had been recently cooked on the grill. As we ate the vacuuming came closer till he was right next to our table. Then the waitress came and asked if we could pay so they could close the drawer. It was a horrible experience and we will never go back. We never felt comfortable or welcome. I don’t want to give this a star but apparently you have to. How stupid is that?!#

Unbelievable overpriced, horrible service… Ran out drinks the whole meal. Sausage and hash browns not cooked all the way. Guy at the front on his phone the whole time… don’t waste your time. $ 72 bucks for Breakfast that had horrible food and service.

Low quality food, poor service. My eggs were the only thing I ate off my entire plate. Ham was fatty and had no flavor. I asked the waitress what’s better out of the sausage and ham. Her answer was I don’t know I don’t eat them. That should have been hint number one, LEAVE. The combo #4 comes with no toast. Potatoes were undercooked. I asked the waitress if the strawberries are fresh or frozen. She assured me they are fresh. My waffle came out with a pile of soggy strawberries that looked old. I couldn’t eat them at all because they tasted old. The waitress said«well they are fresh strawberries.» I left feeling ripped off and grossed out by the food. Pretty much took a doggy bag for all the left overs so my dog could eat them. Least he got a nice treat! I will NOT be returning.

I was very disappointed to call them and find out that they don’t allow take out orders on the weekend. I am sure they have a reason, perhaps because of being busy, but I have never been there before, and now I will never go.

Service at this restaurant is poor. Server took a long time to take order and delivered the wrong order to our table. Will not be returning!

I absolutely love waffles so when my mom found this place we had to go. We waited 20 minutes then my dad went up to the front and had to ask for our server. I ordered coffee and waited 15 mins to try and ask for a refill. My dad got up and went over to the coffee maker and poured my coffee in my cup… this service was horrible. The server was no where to be found. Another lady brought food to our table to set it down but it wasn’t even our order. Finally our food arrived I had the strawberry almond waffle that was yummy. As I was eating I heard other servers going to other tables to apologize. This restaurant needs more training on customer aervice. Although I will come one more time and see if it improves. Food is amazing but customer service really is not the best.

Waffles and eggs… you can’t screw that up, right? It was a disappointing adventure for a new place for the weekend! Spent $ 50 for breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids. I should have stayed home, busted out the iron and frying pan and saved my cash for a nice Sunday dinner. My youngest had the cherry waffle. It was as big as her face and full of whip cream, so she loved it. Cherry compote looked/tasted reminiscent of a can of generic cherry pie filling. My wife said the waffle was pretty good, but I couldn’t get past the pie filling. My wife had a Cobb Salad and the chicken was so dried and over-«cooked»(hopefully it was nuked pieces of frozen slices from a big bag of Smart and Final chicken). My other daughter enjoyed her pancake combo and the eggs and side were cooked well. I had the Ranch Hand Omelette with country potatoes and biscuits/gravy. Well, where to start. The unseasoned omelette was below average size and lacked flavor. The potatoes were under cooked, oily and certainly under seasoned. The biscuits and gravy lacked texture, unless overly dry is a texture, flavor and seasoning. I can’t remember the last time I had sausage gravy, with sausage in the gravy. Our waitress was sweet and worked hard for her tip. She engaged my family and was very pleasant. My water was usually full, so her effort kept the rating at a 2, plus, you really have to deserve a 1 Star rating from me. I had heard very good things about the Waffle Barn, and unfortunately, we found it to be the Awful Barn today. We didn’t seem to be alone in our opinion, as many of the tables around us seemed to be complaining under their breath also.

For my breakfast pick this is it! Extremely good bang for your buck! The great reviews for gold miner café(E.Bidwell) had me try it, but it blows my mind that all those people should be at Waffle Barn. Try to finish a breakfast skillet for less than $ 10 and get your name on the wall. FYI: I have done the the Barns Skillet like 4 or 5 times. Name is on the wall! Once I through in a waffle in addition to the Skillet just to keep it picante! Omelettes are good, coffee is hot, everyone leaves stuffed.

If I could give negative stars I would. They do not have waffles with fresh fruits. They are all compote, but not the good ones. They taste like expired canned fruits. Everything tastes pretty stale. The fruit bowl is very watery and not fresh at all. They were pretty stingy on giving out water, which is odd. The server with bright purple eye shadow asked me what I wanted to drink and I said water with lemon. Water came right before my check and lemon never came. Service is bad. While we were still eating, a guy started vacuuming the 2 rugs stacking next to our table. When he was done vacuuming the first rug on the top he took it up and waved it in the air. So the air got all dusty. Then he moved on to continued to vacuum the second rug. At this point, I asked the guy to stop vacuuming and he didn’t seem to understand what I said. I asked him if his manager asked him to vacuum when customers are eating. But he didn’t understand so the manager the lady with purple eye shadow, came out, DIDNOT apologize, and went on to explain that it was because the rugs were dirty, in a way that it was perfectly normal to vacuum while customers are eating.(Why would you seat customers next to a stack of dirty rugs that you were going to vacuum when customers are eating?) I explained to them that it’s not sanitary. But apparently my request of them not to vacuum next to us while we are eating upsets the manager. I would do everything to avoid this place. If the employees of a restaurant don’t have the basic knowledge of being clean and think it is ok to let customers eat in a dusty environment, I wonder how clean the kitchen is and the food is.

Service was not great and my daughter and I both got sick after eating here. The place was dirty and the waitress was slow. I rarely complain but felt it was worth doing this review to help others.

Service was gr8 and food came fly in’ off the grill very fast!!! Eggs cooked well just as requested. Thick piece of swine(ham) on the plate with hash browns and wheat toast along with an iced tea to wash it all down. Damage came to $ 12.10. Give it four stars. When I come back, I would go with their bread and butter dish. The waffles. …Thus the name. Ok ok I would go back!

UPDATE: Food still gets four stars. They refuse to substitute something for potatoes which I must avoid due to the high starch/carb content. Service could be better. The server snapped at us about not allowing substitutions when I asked for no potatoes and said I preferred a bit of cantaloupe or other low sugar option.

Their food made my friend and I sick. The service was terrible, the waitress was rude and completely ignored my friend and I after taking our order. Then my bill jumped from like 8 to 11 $ just because I added a few extra chocolate chips to my waffle. Kinda ridiculous. Won’t be coming back for a while or maybe not at all.

This place is amazing. I come here at least every Saturday morning for Breakfast. Delicious food with daily specials. Service is outstanding if you are a regular. If you are a first timer you may think they are a little rough around the edges. Seasonal waffles, pumpkin waffles is phenomenal.

Ate here this morning and loved it! The staff was friendly, we were seated right away, the server made great suggestions for what we should eat that’s a favorite of visitors. I had an omelet and my other half had a scramble and we both thought it was great! Best breakfast in Folsom we’ve found. Definitely going to be returning!

Standard breakfast, nothing really spectacular as far as the food goes. As far as service, the ladies who work here don’t know how to greet a customer and rarely smile. No «Hi, how are you?» Or even a «Thank you.» For a place that serves people early in the morning, you’d think they would be more friendly. Food — 3 stars, like I said it’s pretty standard, large portions, but not a lot really goes into the cooking here. On par with an IHOP but with dull service. Scratch that, I was waiting to tip on my to go to see if the lady would at least say thank you when it was ready, and she literally dropped my food on the counter and just said«Here you go.» Unfriendly service is unfortunate. Sorry, but down a star.
