Great service and the draft beer prices are reasonable. It was very nice that the cook came out afterwards to see how our food was. Plus if you stay in the hotel next door you get 10% off.

I have stayed at this hotel — therefore been visited this bar several times. Several of the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The waitstaff was woefully inadequate. It’s obvious they have a lot of turnover — and for that reason I’m willing to give them A little grace. Regarding the food, it’s typical barfood. The atmosphere is pretty good though in the place gets jumping on nights when they have a band. Not bad relative to what’s available in the area. If you want really good service, go up the road to Biltmore Park.

Just got done eating at 550 and we are stunned at how good it was. I had read the other reviews for this place and was skeptical but kept an open mind, although truth be told I was anticipating bad service.
We sat ourselves and in less than a minute a server came up and told us about the drink specials and we placed our orders. She came back with menus shortly after that. Everything on the menu looked good but you never really know til you try. We ordered the bacon-​wrapped shrimp and grit cakes, the shrimp was quite tasty with a honey/​mustard sauce and the shrimp cakes were good too sitting on a balsamic reduction sauce, it could have done with a little more seasoning but not bad at all.
My partner had the white bean and chicken soup and I had a couple spoonfuls too, it was really tasty with a warm spicy feel going down. It was THAT good, that we’ll be ordering that for lunch tomorrow. I could have almost just had a couple bowls of it and be completely satisfied.
For entrees (by which time we were already full), I had fish tacos that were well put together, but could have done with something else to make it stand out, but they were nonetheless quite good. My partner had the deconstructed shrimp and grits. This was far superior than the grit cakes as it was in a spicy sauce, really good eats– my mouth is watering as I’m remembering how they tasted.
We passed on dessert, although I will likely go back later tonight and try the salted caramel brownie sundae.
Service was prompt all the way through with the place ¹⁄₃ to ½ full at 7pm on a Friday night. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu.

Great food! Have to say I have never had a grit cake and it was amazing you can get it as a side. Had goat cheese and that was really good as well. I liked the atmosphere and I thought the service was great. Will be back. Thanks

Rude, unfriendly servers. Nastiest food I’ve ever had. The loaded potato skins tasted like they were nuked (frozen).
Nice décor but strange atmosphere and weird «regulars»

Food was great. Live music was great. Service at first was good, then waitress forgot about us after about 45 minutes, never came to refill or ask if we wanted anything else. Took 10 minutes to get her attention to even ask for the check. It was not that busy, she stopped by and hung with some friends at a table by us. Fifteen minutes after asking she was nowhere to be found. We made a best guess at the total, left some cash on the table and walked out. Not one employee even said anything as we walked out and several saw us, we could have left and maybe should have with out paying… but the food was good. In this town with so much competition the mgmt there better step it up.

Stayed in the hotel for a week. Stopped by the bar for a drink twice and dinner one night. Over the three times, there was only one bartender that knew what he was doing. The food was typical bar food. The servers every visit were poor. «Bar rescue «would have a field day here

Service was good. Steaks were cooked to perfection! So nice to finally get a steak that’s cooked medium rare correctly the first time.
