I couldn’t possibly recommend a mechanic higher than Cottman Transmission in Maitland. These guys are true professionals who are extremely passionate about their work, are fair with their prices, and treat your vehicle like their own. I took my 95 Jeep YJ in for some difficult work, and you would have figured they were a Jeep only joint with the passion and exuberance they worked with. I’ve never written a Unilocal before, but these guys were worth it. They even washed my filthy jeep as a nice little surprise! Top notch, thank you guys, you’re the best. Kevin Z

There are certain corners you can cut when it comes to maintaining your car. Your transmission shouldn’t be one of them.
Check your owner’s manual and follow the recommended schedule for transmission fluid changes. Take it to these guys who not only get the fluid, they get the filter, too. They use the best fluid possible and put it all back together perfectly.
Oh, and their prices and service skills are as good as it gets.
Trust me. I LIVED IN an auto shop. I know more about cars than you, and these guys know more about cars than me.

The issue was identified and repaired efficiently and without excessive expense. The other employees I have dealt with are courteous and professional. Had a great experience bringing my 2012 Mustang here! They were very quick to help me and check out my car for a minor problem. I came by on a Friday afternoon upon leaving my office early and they were able to get the car on the lift and diagnose the problem fast!
I will definitely be coming here for any other maintenance issues that I need. They were friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable!

I started getting services on my Kia just over a year ago when I purchased a Groupon for 3 free oil changes. Since then I’ve had other service work done on my car always with the same results-quick competent service at a fair price.
Recently my engine light started flashing and my car sounded horrible on my way in to work. Phil and the Cottman family had the problem solved in 24 hours and even had recommendations of rental companies that would give me the body shop rate when I couldn’t do without a car. It would have been done sooner but I couldn’t bring the car in until after 6pm.
Before writing this review I called two other nationally known body shops to price out the repairs they did and the costs were all the same. If you need to have something done right at a shop you can trust, take your car to Cottman.

I’ve been taking my cars over the years to Cottman because I trust them. I live in downtown Orlando. If I need a repair I go to Cottman. On one occasion I had a major issue with all my oil leaking out of my engine because of a faulty seal. I had it towed to Cottman. Phil really knows his stuff. He looked up my car and found out that there was a service bulletin for this issue. Phil told me to take it to toyota and it would be covered even though the car was out of warranty. This is one of many examples of Phil’s professionalism and trustworthiness. Cottman could of easily said the seal needed to be repaired and charged me for the work and I would have never known the difference. If you’re looking to keep your car for a long time and need someone your can trust, Phil and Jake at Cottman transmission are your guys.

Waste of time. I had transmission problems and trans pressure sensor check engine light code. Took it to them based on a recommendation from local auto repair place. They told me I needed a rebuild for $ 1800-$ 2500. Though nice early on… when I questioned what exact codes came up I got talk around and some attitude. I did more due diligence on the codes by getting them printed at auto zone, researched online, got second opinions from other mechanic and trans shops. Ended up going to a different trans shop who started with code related pressure solenoid replacement which fixed the issues for a total under $ 500.

It takes 30 minutes to recharge the AC, let’s be generous and say 30 minutes for an oil change, I’ve been here over three hours and the owner says to me «Oh AC recharge can take awhile». Really? You could have let me know when I got here at 10:30 that it would be «awhile»… instead let’s pretend like I’m an idiot, thanks.

Tired of feeling like your mechanic is taking you to the cleaners (i.e. go in for an oil change and they recommend a new transmission)???
