Window World of Long Island

We just needed
one window. That’s all. Nothing crazy. Something that opens and closes. We first called Home Depot. I myself was against it but my hubby was optimistic. They came, measured and wrote up a order. Guess what? HD didn’t place the order. They forgot. One job. So I called Window World. A human answered the phone. Wait what?! No press one to get annoyed. We set up a date. I received a human call to confirm. Yes a human. Matt called the day of my appointment asked if he could come by 30 mins earlier. Matt was a doll. I told him about HD. He didn’t seem shocked. He measured told me about the window. Which was cheaper that HD. Two weeks later, I get a installation call from a human. Set the date and time up. They showed up a 8 on the dot installed the window 45 minutes later they were driving away. It actually took me longer to wake my daughter up since it was her room getting the window.
So do I recommend Window World. Heck Yeah!

I’m not much on writing reviews, but when an experience WOW’s someone i think something must be said… earlier this year i started shopping window replacements. window world was not the most expensive and not the cheapest. but i decided to go with them on this major purchase based on the salesman Ross… he was professional, informative, non pressured sales professional, who took the time to make it out multiple times to my home to have my questions answered, once our deal was made Dorian booked the appointment and worked around my crazy schedule, the installers took over headed by a team of craftsman lead by Pete … they were caring, fast. clean and took the time out to explain the installed products and they even reinstalled all my window treatments back in place… WHAT PLACE DOES THAT! i had windows installed, slider doors and a frt picture window. if you are looking for windows /​doors this is the place! One class act… i would highly recommend this company and its product … My hat is off to the owners who put this crew together

I never really post reviews about companies but I believe my experience with this company deserves one. I started renovating my home in Dec of 2013. I currently work with a construction company and I am using the guys I work with to do the renovations. I called Window World to get a quote on the windows, I thought it would be an easier process with them taking the old windows out and installing the new ones versus buying them and having my guys put them in. I also wanted the double warranty and the guarantee of them coming to my home and fixing any window if it gets damaged.
The appointment was setup and I met Corey, the sales rep, at my home to talk about pricing and take field measurements, this was in the beginning of 2014 either late January or February. The initial meeting went well and we signed up for them to come in and install 1 sliding door, 2 slider windows, 1 kitchen window and 2 casement windows with a picture in the middle. During the meeting Corey explained to us that HE WOULD BE THERE AT THE TIME OF INSTALLATION to make sure everything went well. Everything did go well until Window World actually had to step onto the court and perform. Since I have to much to write just see below at all the problems. The entire process lasted from February to 1^st week of September for a few windows.
1. Installers came to my house about 5 times and Corey NEVER showed once I had a different installer come to my house every time. The initial instaler was fired.
2. The initial installation was incorrect was supposed to be there 8AM got there noon not even with all the windows. They did not even have us on the schedule
3. Sliding door was not level on the top, it was missing insulation and the rubber sash was messed up on the inside and one slider was not level, I couldn’t lock the top part of it. At least I was there doing Coreys job
4. Came to fix sash lost my ADT detector which they replaced with an old 1 and put in the sliding door back in upside down. Had to come back to fix that.
5. Ordered 2 feet wide casements got 3 feet installed. Was not there at time of installation due to work either was Corey (sales rep). They would replace but charge an extra $ 250 for installation meanwhile it was their error… joke
6. Kitchen window was installed cracked. Had the owner (LES) come and fix it and he brought the wrong size window. Comical.
7. New casements would not roll out had to have the owner come back to fix them. Was blaming everything on my molding that it was not straight, which has nothing to do with the way a window is installed. Blamed framers for the slider F up. Said they did not make the openings level. Meanwhile asked him if he installs windows on old homes because you are not gonna have a perfect frame when u install windows on a home that is 50 years old and settled through seasons of weather. He called his installer and he forgot to connect a latch that made the casement roll out… So much for my framers and molding that was not level.
8. Tried charging me $ 1900 when my invoice said I owed $ 1350. Les made me shake with him and settle on $ 1500 when I told him I was unhappy. I went back and seen my bill was $ 1350. I spoke to Accounting there and the lady said someone messed up somewhere lol. $ 1350 is the real number.
There was other things also like not showing up on time and the excuse of not having enough installers. Weather delayed the delivery of the windows. They did not have certain material for certain windows that had to get ordered. It was probably the worst experience I ever had dealing with any type of business. Just too many things went wrong. I was not gonna write review but when he said I owed him $ 1900 and the real number is $ 1350 I could not let this company keep operating without my experience being posted. I highly recommend that you look in another direction. Place sucks!

We had almost all of our windows done by window world of long island. We got three estimates and they were the lowest, but most importantly we did not get a hard sell where you feel forced to make a decision that night! Harold our salesman was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Their prices cannot be beat! To top it off our installers all spoke English and were also very courteous, accommodating, and helpful! Double lifetime warranty as well!
