Ordered the falafel as an app. So flavorful, moist in the inside and nice crunch on the outside. Had the beef and chicken rice platters. The ground beef was moist and well seasoned. The chicken had a wonderful char and very moist. The owner Adi was super friendly. Can’t wait to come back. Everything was made in house.

I don’t think this place ever gets enough attention, the wraps and dolma are just amazing. If you ever have a chance and are trying to decide a place to eat, try Meat in a Box. They really do season their foods and take care in what they prepare. I love going in because the staff is ultra friendly. The place is nice and clean, but I recommend take out because their seating arrangements aren’t really sit down. I enjoy their packaging and branding too. Try their beef or chicken options you can’t go wrong there.

So, I generally like the flavors. But I had horrible food poisoning last week. I think it was from the lamb. Before that, I would have given it 4 stars, dinging 1 star because they have no hot sauce, which is a crime against Indians imo!

If you are trying to decide where to eat, Meat in the Box is a great choice. All you have to do is decide what you are in the mood for. I love filling salads, so my go-to is the chopped salad(green salad with avocado) with chicken. The chicken is flame grilled and served with grilled onion and peppers. The spicy green sauce rocks. Salmon is also great here. Sometimes I get the kobideh, the beef perfectly seasoned into long Persian hamburger patties and grilled. It is awesome. The owner is very friendly and the service is very good. The rice here is also good, as are the sandwich wraps, I simply tend towards salads.

I am writing this review as a local business owner. I have been coming to Meat in a Box for years now. They have really good food and the Owner os incredibly nice and professional. He takes very good care of his customers and you will become a regular here once you try it. I see so much potential in this business because the food is outstanding and the service is 110% good and friendly. This is one business I patronize not just for the healthy, fresh and delicious food but because of the owner’s character. He deserves success. From a 14 year local small business owner to another, I take my hat off to him.

We love this place and go here frequently. Great for herbivores and carnivores alike. Staff is exceptionally friendly. I love seeing people come in from the neighborhood chatting with staff as long time friends.

Adequate kabob place. Marginally cheaper than Moby Dick and Ravi Kabob, but don’t think it’s as good. The ground beef kabob was good — well seasoned — the chicken was tender but charred beyond flavor in a couple spots. The pita tasted stale. They didn’t have the ice cream sandwich when we came — disappointing!

Wow this food is awesome& cheap in a fun environment. Well, maybe not fun, but relaxing. Falafel was yummy. Kabobs were excellent. Fries were surprisingly amazing. The owner or maybe manager? Was friendly and a really nice guy.

Our first time coming here. Was on our way to the State Theater and wanted to get a bite before the show. Unilocal gave it 4 stars ao we decided to give it a try. Unilocal never lets Me down. First impression was wow this place is clean. 2nd impression, the people here are really friendly. Food is cooked to order, nothing sitting is a warming tray. Husband got the chicken and beef combo and I got the lamb. Everything was cooked perfectly, nice char and the meat was nice and juicy and flavorful. The Persian ice tea was really good too. Will be returning here again.

I was so impressed with the salmon that I had to write a review immediately! It was fresh, seasoned well, and perfectly cooked. It was delicious. In addition to the salmon, we also ordered the hummus wedges, beef kabob, and ice cream sandwich. Everything was good! The ice cream sandwich consisted of rose ice cream which was extremely fragrant sandwiched between two pieces of light sugar crackers. Their customer service is also superb, extremely attentive, and very pleasant. The lady at the register was helpful, she knew it was our first time so offered to help. She explained the menu in detail. I will definitely be coming back to this place!

I ordered pick up and when I arrived I noticed the restaurant was a very clean and cozy place. My food was already ready(took about 10 min) and the man at the front was very polite. Their parking lot is a little small. I ordered the Salmon over Rice skewers and they were amazing! The salmon was seasoned well and it practically melted in my mouth. I will deff be coming here again. It was a great experiance. Great food and great staff!

Oh. Em. Gee. This may have been the greatest post-work meal I’ve had ever! Maybe this sentiment was colored by the fact that I was hungry, but man, this meal REALLY hit the spot. And I can’t believe it was so close to me all this time! My brother and I drove here after I came home from work and it wasn’t very crowded. We ordered a falafel appetizer, combo skewers on rice(which is chicken and ground beef), lamb skewers on rice, and a baklava dessert. We ate in-house and falafel came out within 10 minutes with the main dishes following about five minutes after. As a disclaimer, we both freaking LOVED the food. I’ve had my fair share of falafel while going to various Mediterranean and Greek places to eat, but this falafel was flavored and spiced in a way that I liked best out of any falafel I’ve had. Maybe it’s the fact that it was Persian falafel, but it was SO good. Our appetizer had five falafel pieces on a bed of salad and yogurt dipping sauce and we just couldn’t believe how tasty it was. When the skewer on rice dishes came out. it was game over. These meals were phenomenal. The combo skewer was a little over $ 10 and the lamb skewer was around $ 2 more expensive, but both came with heaping amounts of meat, especially my combo skewer meal. The combo skewer had a long slab of ground beef that was cooked just right and was not dry, and the chicken was so good. Both meats were flavored very well without being overpowering. The lamb my brother had was the same way; perfectly spiced and cooked. The REAL star of the dish, though, was the RICEFROMTHEHEAVENS. Basmati rice that was so soft that it could melt in your mouth, and yet it wasn’t mushy at all. It was literally the perfect texture and I loved it so much. Funny enough, on my brother’s end, his obsession was with the salad that was a nice mix of lettuce and tomato with a subtle balsamic. The ratio of meat to rice was solid with just enough meat to match the rice(though if it were up to me, I could literally just eat the rice by itself). PROTIP: If you get the skewer on rice dishes, mix in the salad with your rice and meat, and it’ll be even better! Second pro tip: Parking lot is weird, not your conventional parking lot. You have to drive around the store to get out of the lot.

We went to Meat in a Box based on the pictures, and boy were the other reviews right. The chicken box looks nice(and the chicken was juicy), but there was very little flavor. The rice wasn’t seasoned with any flavor except butter. The salad had some balsamic vinegar, but very little which made it dry. The yogurt sauce seemed to be a mix of cream cheese, sour cream, and pickles or olives(?) which I never had before at a Persian restaurant. I’m giving it two stars, because it wasn’t the worst that I’ve had. It was just very little flavor, which made it underwhelming.

Amazing food. BESTRICEEVER. Buttery and fluffy. Excellent hummus. Chicken kabob over rice is my go to. Lentil soup is hit or miss but when it hits it’s a homerun. They used to have very good in house made bread but the last I went there they were using store bought bread. Boo Kudos for the sumac over the rice and kabob.

I came here for lunch once and probably won’t return. The pictures on Unilocal look very attractive but I wish the food would taste the way they looked. I’m not sure how they get 4 stars. Their portion for a salad that I ordered was pretty small. The dressing was on the side in a little plastic tub. I believe was just basic balsamic vinegar. The chicken was very bland and dry. Don’t even talk about the bread, it was the worst bread ever(so hard to bite on).

Really unimpressed. The«box» is just a gimmick for the name and the«meat» was so tough you couldn’t bite into it. I got the box with two shish skewers of beef($ 9). They’re individually wrapped up in a piece of bread with raw onion(and a bit of tomato and parsley but the raw onion over-powered everything else) and a couple of pieces of roasted veggies(some combination of onion, zucchini and green bell pepper — but only two of those three with each of the skewers). That’s cool, it’s like getting two wraps… so I bit into it like it was a wrap… and my teeth couldn’t go through the meat. Hmm, no wonder they also gave me a Styrofoam plate with my box. So I had to take off the foil, unwrap the bread and put the whole mess onto the plate which the plastic knife and fork then cut through. Sigh. The knife and fork had an easier time cutting through the plate than it did the meat. As for the flavor, there wasn’t any. The side of yogurt sauce and«hot sauce»(which was essentially just pureed jalapenos) were the only two positive parts of the meal and there wasn’t nearly enough of either to salvage the meat. Ugh, thanks for the reminder of why I don’t eat kabobs in the US. I almost want to deploy again just so I can eat kabobs like they’re supposed to taste.

Best place in Falls Church for quick, delicious, and healthy food. I have lost 100+ lbs over the last 3 years and the convenience and ease of MIAB is one of the reasons it has been EASY! From grilled salmon salad to wraps to lamb dinners everything is consistently GREAT! The hummus is something you crave for days(add the green sauce for an extra kick!) Want something you don’t see on the menu? ASK! Also a fabulous place for a VEGAN dinner, even though the name screams«carnivore» the falafel is amazing, order it as a platter with grilled veggies, rice and salad. I could speak VOLUMES about the people that own this place. Making good food is hard, but being consistently kind, friendly, and all around LOVELY is the real accomplishment. I didn’t know Mohammed and Nadia when MIAB opened and I now consider them family!

Yum! I was in the area and starving, and I found this place on Unilocal. My husband and I split a beef meat in a box, and a grilled veggie skewer. «Meat in a box» refers to pita sandwiches — ours were ground beef(formed into patties and grilled), with onions and I think tomatoes. They were really tasty, and we probably would have been fine splitting just 2(instead of 4). The side sauces were a nice touch. Our veggie skewer wasn’t remarkable, but it was grilled fresh. The place was small, but not too crowded(we were there at 2pm on a Saturday). Everything came out quickly and was cooked to order.

Meat In A Box — oh what a name. I won’t my lie was initially turned off by this restaurant strictly because of its name. Just by the name I thought it was going to be some nasty greasy burger joint. Boy was I surprised. Amazingly this place was stashed full of yummy, kebabs. Persian Mediterranean and middle eastern fair. Man that I feel dumb for driving past this place and not stopping in for a year. The owner and his wife are both super nice. They seem genuinely friendly and will chat you up. They are not stingy and I’ll give you extra sauce. It was very nice of them to even give me a cup of tea while I waited. Since I’m a sucker for small business, I will give this place 5 stars. Also the very personable service is a great touch. If you’re in the area give this place a shot,
