This is by far the best Moby Dick in the area. I have been eating here since 2007 and the food is always great and the staff is friendly.

I use to come here all the time about 10 years ago. Since then I am sorry to say but the food grade is awful. You get way less than they use to give you and pay way more. I now drive up the road into tysons to go to Shamshiry. They give you so much food, and honestly the taste is way better. Moby, nickle and dimes you for everything. They use to give you onions, now you pay extra. Everything is a fee. And literally you eat off paper plates with hardly any food on them. The chunks of meat are the size of quarters, yet they charge so much money. Not worth it. Go to Shamshiry.

Ordered dinner for 20 the other night and it was delicious. Food was ready right on time for pick up, hot and ready to go. Very generous portions and everything cooked perfectly; nothing over or underdone, something that can happen with large food orders. For the meat eaters and vegetarians alike, there was plenty of great food. It made my little party stress free and everyone enjoyed their meal.

I must stop here every time I am in town. Love the gyro! Quick, efficient, and YUMMY!!! A lot of good, quality food for an extremely reasonable price!

My mom found a piece of glass in her rice. A big piece. Called the restaurant and they said«oh well, manager is not here, not our problem.» We have been coming here for years and pretty much every weekend. Guess not anymore.

10 years ago this location was very good. Now it is awful, consistently awful. The cashiers are rude. They act like you are interrupting their life to make an order. My family had given up on this moby dicks after getting treated poorly. I was going through mclean and tried again and NEVER again will i be back. Food was not what I ordered. Bread was cold. It just is not worth it.

Pretty good place, probably the best Moby Dick in the area. Certainly better food than at Wisconsin Ave location.

This review pains me slightly to write, but more so because of the nostalgia I feel towards Moby Dick and a bygone era. Back in the day, Moby Dick was the de facto choice and a true no-brainer if you had a hankering for kabobs. The kubideh was plentiful, the kabob-e-barg and joojeh pieces were plentiful, and the accompaniments were offered without issue. Nowadays, the price/value has dropped precipitously to the point that, with every visit to Moby Dick, I can’t help but get a feeling that I might be getting gipped in some ways. Even for minor details like the gojeh — which are noticeably smaller and less plump than they once were — exacerbate this feeling. Meanwhile, the prices have steadily increased over the years to levels reserved for that of premium entrees. With other kabob places just a stones throw away near Tysons and even further down Old Dominion(looking at you, Amoo’s), Moby Dick has, to me at least, fallen way off its perch as the dominant kabob institution in the area.

Great local chain. They provide a great meal at a reasonable price if you go with the sandwich. The marinated chicken is my favorite.

Love this place. Always get the chicken or beef kabobs. Food is consistent every time and tasty. Too much rice though. And I love their hummus and bread.

Food here is good. Pretty consistent every time I’ve eaten here. However, customer service is horrible. I don’t know if it’s a cultural difference or what, but the lady always at the register is not friendly at all. If I have a big order, I think I should be able to get the sauces free of charge. She got attitude with me and told me they didn’t have hot sauce. Uhm yes you do, I’ve gotten it here before. Then she tried to charge me for it. I basically told her I wasn’t leaving without the hot sauce. Bottom line– food great. Customer service– not so much.

Food here is delicious. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the staff is not helpful and even a bit rude. The actual restaurant is small and really busy around mealtimes. We just usually take it to go.

I ordered on line($ 70 worth of food) … went to pick up at the McLean branch… Unfortunately the Lady behind the counter was VERY rude, she seemed very annoyed and bothered to serve customers. It was obvious that she didn’t want to be there. I work in McLean, used to go there all the time when the owners were at the front/cashier counter — — don’t see that anymore. I will never go there again.

I have been going to Moby Dick’s for years, but no more. This evening I ordered a swordfish kabob with rice for take out, which is over $ 13, only to find out when I got home that it had four small pieces of fish. When I called back to talk to a manager, I was not connected to one and the only answer was«that is how the dish comes.» Very poor.

It was ok. There was a language barrier. I cannot eat the bread or rice. Request salad only. Got the bread, salad and rice. The lemon dressing was good but not enough of it. The yoghurt sauce was too runny. The meat was cooked and seasoned well.

This place is great if you like rice. Oh, and if you also enjoy waiting. After my third visit I wanted to write a review. This past weekend I stopped in around 3pm to order two entrees. There was no one waiting in line so my order was taken immediately. I ordered the ground beef and ground chicken entrees. They both come with rice. If you notice the prices are pretty expensive. The total was over $ 20 for basically four sticks of meat and rice. They give you tons of rice because it’s cheap. The other thing I noticed was the lack of «speed» on the staff’s part. I literally waited over 15 minutes for my order. I’ll reiterate there was no one in front of me when I came in. However, there were four sets of customers after me. So, I’m standing there waiting and it’s been 10 minutes. I see my food placed up on the heated area. The lady taking orders sees it but keeps taking two additional orders instead of bagging my food and giving it to me. I literally waited another 5 minutes(customers didn’t know what they wanted so ordering took a long time) before she bagged my food. I realize taking orders is important, but if a customer has already waited 10 minutes and it only takes 20 seconds to bag two containers… you should bag the food that’s already been paid for. Overall, after three visits I don’t care for this place. The food is healthy but it’s not much considering the price and what you’re actually getting. Remove the rice and just look at the meat, there isn’t much there for the price. Also, I really don’t like places who take their time and ignore the customer’s time. Food — B Value — C Experience — D

We like mobydick in general but the attitude i got from the store manager at this location was awful! I ordered family platter and wanted to make a minor swap(more chicken instead of beef skewers) and was willing to pay the difference(if there was any!). The answer i got was: my GM won’t allow me and it will mess up my inventory… I suggested he share my feedback as a frequent customer with his GM. He didn’t even listen and didn’t even care. Very unfortunate… As a point of reference, the Georgetown location does it all the time despite being a busier location.

Gross I hate this place. It’s the bastardized mcdonalds of Persian food. The food is gross and the place is kind of gross looking. I don’t know why people eat here it’s such a waste

This is one of my dad’s favourite places to eat in McLean! Every time I’m in the area visiting, we always stop here for some delicious food. This trip was no different! I was fresh of the plane from Scotland when we b-lined it over to Moby Dicks! As always the staff here are friendly and the service is quick. Always here during lunch time, the restaurant is cozy and has lots of seating that is always full. My dad ordered what looked like a full plate of mixed meats, rice and pita bread. It’s what he always orders and he loves it. I ordered the falafel which was also delicious! The wrap is plenty enough to fill someones belly and nicely topped off with a water or fountain sodas they have on offer. I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere and will be back when I’m in town!
