We had the Blizzard this weekend (1÷23÷16) …we live in Silver Spring, M. D and have spent yesterday evening and today, all day, repeatedly shoving snow from the drive way and front entrance of our home… exhausted and sick of the endless snow by 7 pm today… then we noticed the heat thermostat was drifting lower… the furnace would come on and then off after a few minutes… begun to worry… a night without heat… how to get anyone to help with everything closed and snow piles everywhere!
By chance, I remembered Mr. Anil at AVS AC & Heating. last contacted him 3 – 4 years ago and still had his phone number… and I figured he could give some helpful advice… didn’t expect him send a tech till the middle of the week… the earliest the roads would be cleared.
I was surprised a lady answer… this was almost 8 pm, Blizzard night… she indicated she would set up something for Monday… but promised to forward my call to Mr. Anil.
Mr. Anil called me back within 3 minutes! I explained to him the problem. He asked me to turn on FaceTime… guided me to open the furnace… located the pilot light… and watched the furnace flame start… and then turn off within 1 – 2 minutes. next he guided me to disconnect the vent pipe leading from the furnace to the outside… once done, the furnace flame remained on! He suggested snow on the outside was probably blocking the vent pipe.
Sure enough as soon as we cleared the snow around the vent pipe, the problem was solved!
Wont forget this Blizzard… but most important… AVS Air Conditioning and Heating and Mr. Anil… what a fantastic Company… and I cannot say enough about their professionalism!

I’ve used AVS for several years now and had nothing but fair quotes and good service. I also appreciated that if I had an emergency issue with my A/​C not working or when my heat kept shutting off, they were available to come check it out the same day (even on a weekend) whereas some other companies I called were willing to come out a day or two later. For example, last summer my A/​C wasn’t working, on the third straight 90+degree day in a row; I called AVS and they came out to fix my unit within 4 hours of my call. After that, I recommended AVS to my coworker and she’s thanked me for the referral several times because she said that they were upfront and honest with her about the ductwork issue in her house which was affecting her A/​C rather than just trying to charge her for a «quick-​fix» that wouldn’t have resolved her problem.

My husband and I recently used AVS for an issue with our air conditioner and were very pleased with their prompt service. We have a newborn and our ac was working intermittently so I called AVS (based on a friends recommendation) and even though it was towards the end of the day they were still able to send someone out that night. The technician was professional and knew exactly what the issue was and even explained to us how to fix the issue on our own if it happens again. I will definitely be using AVS for any future heating or ac issues and would recommend them to friends.
