Description

Specialties

I specialize in non-traditional, eco-friendly, and low-budget events. If your wedding or other event is going to go outside the cookie-cutter, I’ll be right there with you. I have resources for eco-friendly events, and I work great on a budget. I also have lots of ideas for keeping costs reasonable, including how to avoid the traps that most of the wedding industry will lay for you. If you’re planning a family party (birthday, anniversary, etc.) give me a call. I can help with those, too.

I also have a background in the performing arts, so I have lots and lots of contacts among performers and I understand how to make art out of what is available. I have honed my eye for visual detail through years of practice in the arts.

And just because I can do low-budget doesn’t mean I can’t handle the big-budget event. If you are looking for high-end planning, I can handle it.

History

Established in 2004.

I’ve been in the events business since 1986 but only went into business for myself in 2004. I started out as a theatre stage manager, and I contend that theatre is the most difficult kind of live event there is (except opera, maybe). I still do some theatre to keep my skills up. It’s like going to the gym for event planning. But for the last 10 or 12 years, I have been doing other kinds of events, too: chamber music concerts, lectures, live performance, bands, family parties, street fairs, and weddings.

I didn’t think it was a good idea to do other people’s weddings until I was married, which is why I began offering my wedding planning services in 2004, after I had done my own. Now I understand very well the emotional roller-coaster of wedding planning. I can sympathize and can help my clients to get through it all.

I’m here to do all the detail work for your party, wedding, or other event so you can feel confident that it will all go well.
