The thing about professional photography, or any professional service, is we have spent years learning our craft and investing in equipment built for the purpose. We use professional grade cameras that allow us to control every aspect of the image. We understand the subtleties of facial expressions that can give you an air of confidence in a business portrait. We make sure your image is the best it can be, so your audience sees you at your best. This applies to all aspects of your image, be it you or your product. Very few things out last us, a well crafted photo will last for generations.

History

Established in 1931.

Evanston Photographic Studios was established in 1931 and has remained open during the intervening 83 years. Surviving wars, depressions, recessions, the transition from film to digital and a few moves. All by offering an eclectic but high quality of not only photography but service as well. Many of our clients are still with us after decades and changes in ownership. Each of the three principal owners, past and present, have close ties to the community, each other and one thing in common, a dedication to providing the best, most comprehensive service we can. We provide a «one stop shop» for your media needs including an archive that reaches back over a hundred years, design services, full video production and we cover all genres of photography from architecture to zoological.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Genie is a native Evanstonian, graduate from ETHS and Columbia College Chicago. Before purchasing EPS from a close family friend, Genie worked as a custom Black & White printer in London, was studio manager for several of the top table top photographers in Chicago, while running her own wedding photography business.

Her philosophy has always been to provide the highest quality of service alongside excellence in the final product. She is as comfortable behind a large format camera as she is a digital, her eye for composition is only matched by her skill at anticipating the perfect expression, gesture, glint of light so she is ready to capture that fleeting moment before it is gone for ever.
