I was parked at Red Barn when I got in my car and started it. There was definitely something wrong, all the warning lights came on and it had no power steering. I went back inside the Barn and asked customers where I should take my car since I wasnt from the area. Three people chimed in «Jerry and Walt’s».
So I managed to creep down Van Buren the five or so blocks to their shop and Im so glad I did.
The woman at the service desk, after a bit of consulting with mechanics, managed to give me a quote and a promise to have the work finished by 5 pm that day so I could drive it up to Portland and be on time for my shift at 8pm. That meant the world to me as I was in the process of trying to figure out if I could get a ride or call off.
A few hours later, I recieve a phone call that my car was finished early, and I could come get it. It ended up being a broken pulley and a serpentine belt that needed replaced.
I just want to mention how thankful I am that they were so accommodating, flexible and honest. Some of the most considerate customer service in my experience with Mechanics.
I am waiting to get an oil change til my next visit to Eugene, just so I can give them my business.

Terrible since shop sold approximately 2 years ago. All of my repairs were done there for years. Wonderful owner, service and prices.
Shop was sold and I was charged for work not done, overcharged and new owner does not operate on the same level of honesty and customer service.
I took my car there twice since the shop changed hands and I will not be returning What a disappointment to see the shop change for the worst :((((

I really enjoy this place– the people are good, clear communicators; they are very nice; pricing for the front end work I’ve had done on several cars over the years has always been competitive, and the work well done at the end of the day. I am glad to have them as a resource and refer them to anyone needed their kinds of services.

I have got to say one of the best shops in eugene. Derek and Jill are both very courteous and knowledgeable. I set an appointment and they are ready when i show up and get the work done when they say it will be done. Would recommend this shop to any and all of my friends

I dropped in here to for an alignment fix and the service was straight forward, the staff was friendly, and I didn’t feel like I was being pushed into any frivolous services for my Subaru. I will definitely be returning!

I will undoubtedly be back! I drive a Subaru that has a lot of miles on it, and at this point I’m not looking to put anymore money in it. I was a little disappointed when my car wasn’t starting (thinking the worst). I brought it to Jerry and Walt’s and the service was spectacular. Not only was I in and out within 40 minutes, but the staff was very honest with what my car needed, which ended up just being a new battery. While I was waiting, they came into the waiting room repeatedly to keep me informed on the process, and were very friendly. Derek, the owner came in to chat, as well as Dan, the mechanic who was working on my car. Since I am from out of town, it’s very reassuring that I can trust someone here with my car who will not oversell or take too long with my car. Will return when needed!

Not sure where my original review went, so here goes again. Had my daughters clutch replaced here. Good deal, good work. It’s nice to know in a college town there is a shop like this that you can feel safe sending your daughter to get her car fixed. Thanks Derek.

Derek is fantastic. Every time I have called he has fit me in the same day. Very reasonably priced. Great service and great customer service. This place will be around for a long time.

This used to be my go-​to automotive shop in Eugene. Always friendly and knowledgable staff and good rates. Unfortunately, the new management seems to have turned this into another rip-​off auto shop.
I brought my vehicle in after hearing a loud squeaking/​warbling noise to get it identified, thinking maybe it was a belt issue. I get a call later that day saying that it was an issue with the water pump (the only good information I recieved from them). They then quoted me just under 900 $ to repair it + the tensioner and belt replacement, citing that it would be less labor cost for me.
I looked at the invoice they gave me and there was no reduction in labor costs for including the tensioner and belt replacement. They also charged about double of what each part actually costed.
I told them thanks but no thanks. Went and bought the water pump + gasket sealant and antifreeze for 50 $ and replaced it with my Uncle. Be careful about all the old 5 star reviews for this place, because the new management seems to only care about making money trying to sell overpriced parts and including a bunch of uneccesary work.

Not impressed with the new ownership. my vehicle sat at the shop 2 separate days with no service or estimate. I called the shop to find out what was taking so long. The woman was rude and ended up hanging up on me saying they had cars lined up and were looking at the problem. I had great service with a quick turn around with the old owner. I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service and amount of time my truck has just sat at the shop. I will be looking for a new mechanic.

What a pleasant experience! We were in town setting our daughter up for school, and her brakes started making an awful screeching sound. The first place we called wanted to replace the rotors, sight unseen. The second place wouldn’t give an estimate without an expensive ‘evaluation’. Then we called Jerry & Walt’s. They politely explained what the most likely scenario was and what it would cost, and then explained there were less likely scenarios that would cost more. Their price was reasonable, they did the work quickly, and they were able to stick with the most likely estimate. I definitely recommend this shop!

I love it! They just told me that I did NOT need the $ 500 worth of front-​end work that Schwab said I needed. I love being told that I don’t need to spend money. And for that advice they charged me nothing. Outstanding!

This shop is a good place to get your vehicle worked on. I have been coming here for years and their repairs have been very good. I never have had to come back to fix any of their work. They tell you the truth and don’t try to take advantage of you. They will tell you of they can fix it and give you an estimate of repairs and let you make the decision. If it doesn’t need to be fixed, they won’t tell you it does just to make money. It is very refreshing to find an honest mechanic in this tight economy!

good place. my van needed some additional work and they showed me under the car what the issue was, so i didn’t have to wonder if they were making it up. they worked hard to get a cheaper price for the part i needed. very helpful and friendly and honest.
