History

Established in 1994.

Started from scratch in 1994, Family Caring Dentistry opened in November of 1994 with only two employees. Dr. Aaron M. Perez and his wife Cookie. Since then Family Caring Dentistry has grown and moved locations to Escondido, CA, established in 2007 under the new name Casa Dental.

Dr. Aaron M. Perez and the staff of Casa Dental have served the North County community for over seventeen years, always offering the friendliest service and the lastest in comprehensive dental care. Dr. Aaron M. Perez was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, coming to the U.S. in 1981. Since then he has earned his B.A. in Respiratory Therapy from La Sierra University and his D.D.S. (Doctorate of Dental Surgery) from Loma Linda University in 1991.

Dr. Perez was awarded the National Association of Seventh-​Day-​Adventist Dentist (NASDAD) award for scholastic achievements and unusual humanitarian concern. Dr. Perez served as a dental missionary in the U.S. protectorate of Guam for two years and continues to serve on dental mission trips around the world, including Peru, Honduras and Mexico.

In 2007 Dr. Aaron M. Perez was voted by his colleagues and peers as one of San Diego’s «Top Dentists», as noted in the May issue of San Diego Magazine.

Dr. Aaron M. Perez is an excellent dentist with a humanitarian heart and passion for family dentistry.

Best dental experience ever. The doctor explained everything each step in the process, all of the staff was really friendly and genuine. Pricing seemed to be very fair and clearly explained without any of the «let’s game your insurance company» nonsense that I’ve experienced at other dental practices. I would give 6 stars if I could. Making a dentist appointment enjoyable is truly special and the team at Casa are really top notch.

Went to get my teeth cleaned here the other day. Truthfully I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while. They got me in right away, were gentle with my floss-​less gums and the hygienist was super caring, personal and funny! She never made me feel bad about how much tarter she had to scrape off but encouraged me to be better and sent me home w/​a cute toothbrush/​floss baggie:) Thanks Casa!

Wish I could give this dentist 10 stars. I had my first procedure done this morning. Dr. Perez explained everything as it happened. There were no surprises and he did a professional job of numbing me for the work. He was very encouraging all along the way — which I appreciated. His hygienist was attentive and kept my mouth well-​rinsed and free of debris. Late this afternoon, my phone rang. It was the dentist, checking on me. I about fell over. I found this location on Unilocal — so believe the reviews. This is a great, friendly, family place. Very professional.

Dr. Perez and staff are very welcoming and gentle. There is no upselling or manufacturing of problems to get more of your money. Scheduling an appointment is very easy. My only complaint is that they are typically closed the week of Christmas and New Years. (Makes it hard for kids coming home from college.) But I respect a doctor who uses his free time as a medical missionary in South America rather than collecting sports cars.

I struggle with a major fear of dentists. However, within moments at Casa Dental my butterflies were completely gone! The office is warm and cozy. The staff is relaxed, friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Perez himself performed part of my cleaning and even with a chipped tooth the experience was painless! At no point did anyone try to sell me unnecessary treatments or products (I hate that!). I checked out with Cookie. She is the warmest and friendliest person to ever work in a dentist’s office! Love her! She was very clear about the costs of my treatment (fixing my chipped tooth) and best of all… she gave me a goodie bag (: I don’t think I have ever wrote a Unilocal review before this but I would be remiss not to acknowledge my awesome experience at Casa Dental. I plan to update this after I have my tooth repaired… but I’m pretty sure that review will be glowing as well (;

Since I moved back to California, I was struggling to find a good dentist. My dentist in LA was kind of sketch, and my first dentist here wasn’t great either. I turned to Unilocal to help me find a dentist for my husband and me before our dental insurance was over.
I’m glad I found Dr. Perez and Casa Dental. The whole staff there was very friendly and welcoming. Their technology is pretty awesome… You can see your x-​rays right away on a screen. They also took photos of my back teeth so I could see what needed to be done. They checked on me often to make sure I was doing ok during my fillings. Dr. Perez was very good about explaining what he was doing as he was doing it, which I find to be nice. I don’t like it when people are just poking, prodding, and drilling around in there without letting me know what is going on. My husband and I were very pleased with our experiences, and I think we have found our forever dentist!

Really nice staff. Clean place and easy to find. I just don’t like that the kids go alone to have the service done. My son was referred by them to a another office. The office they referred him to was giving me an appointment in 3 weeks. So I look for another Dentist and found a great one that gave me an appointment in just 3 days. Probably it’s a Dentist for adults not so much for kids that get nervous.

I had a great experience here. This was my first visit and I completely felt at ease the whole time. Everyone is super friendly, from the girls at reception to the dental staff, especially Dr Perez. He just made me feel comfortable not at all judged like I have before at other dentists’ offices. My favorite was Cookie though, she is so friendly and vivacious, I feel like we can be bffs lol. Would def recommend to friends and family

Dr. Perez and his staff are phenomenal. I utilized Unilocal to find a highly rated dentist– and was not let down with Casa Dental.
I went in knowing I needed some dental work. From the beginning Dr. Perez was genuine and honest. What struck me the most was the ability for the staff and himself to not make me feel embarrassed because I needed a deep clean.
I am human, and one concern I feel many of us have, is to feel embarrassed or shy when it comes to certain medical needs. Dr. Perez quelled this on my first visit. He walked me through the images of my teeth and counseled me on the best plan of action.
Not once did I question his abilities as a dentist. The quality of the work was shown to me in before and after shots. No these were not photoshopped magazine images, these were real images of my own teeth.
I am finally back on track, in terms of having regular cleanings done – and that feels pretty sweet.
I can’t end this review without mentioning how comfortable the facility and the staff made me feel. When you walk in, the room just feels pleasant (which some people find ironic given this is a dental office). The entire staff is wonderful– they are real genuine people. I never felt any sense of feeling out of place or discomfort.
Casa Dental provides service that I can recommend without hesitation. This place screams quality and if you don’t believe me– go check it out yourself.

My husband and myself were in search of a new dentist last year. Being new the North County we didn’t know where to go. The, my husband came across Casa Dental. We called in to figure out their prices (because we do not have dental insurance). The front desk gal was so helpful and reassuring that we decided to check them out. Also, she was so patient with us. I told her that I would call back to compare their «in house» insurance to actually getting a dental insurance with another company. We needed with the in house insurance.
Our first visit was wonderful, despite the fact that my husband and I needed some minor fixes. Dr. Perez and his staff are wonderful and professional! My whole life, I have been terrified going to the dentist, even for a simple cleaning. For the first time, EVER, I don’t feel too bad. He and his staff will work with you if you are having trouble with pain, and get this … they don’t make you feel bad about it. They’re very understanding and we couldn’t be more happier with them.
Payments are fair.
Office is immaculately clean.
Service is great.

I’ve only been going here for about 6 months — just had my second visit recently — but I can definitely say it’s a great place. The office is very clean and organized and not only is the dentist very nice, every one of his staff members are too! They all seem to like their job (which is rare in most professions) and do a very thorough and honest job. They definitely make going to the dentist a very pleasant experience. All my life, I have had the most negative experiences with dentists. Admittedly, I spent a good portion of my days not taking care of my teeth like I do now. But I have NEVER had a positive experience at the dentist, until I went to Casa Dental.
Dr. Perez and his staff are absolutely stellar. When I went in for my first visit, the assistant, along with Dr. Perez, were so helpful. They explained my dental issues and he suggested a treatment plan. At other dental offices, people have tried to up charge me. What Casa Dental, this is not the case. Cookie, walked me through the entire dental plan that was proposed, explaining ever detail. She was very thoughtful and warm — I appreciate this level of care!
3 visits to Casa Dental later, I feel like I have a fresh start with my dental hygiene. Some of the procedures that I had done were not comfortable, but Dr. Perez and his staff have a very gentle touch and treated me so well. I really feel like they treat me like a person first and a patient second. They care about my comfort — that means the world to me.

It’s not often (or ever) that I’ve described a visit to the dentist as pleasurable. However Casa Dental has accomplished making three visits an absolute pleasure. I can’t say enough good things about them. A single visit made me feel like I had joined their family, the 2nd & 3rd visits confirmed it.
Seriously folks, this rarely found positive experience is the NEW face of modern dentistry for me. I’ll never have to settle for less than Casa Dental care again. What a relief! They’re outwardly friendly, kind and caring. They’re efficient with my time, proficient and quick with procedures. I’ve never had better quality care, and they’re the fastest, most careful and caring I’ve ever experienced.
I had two problem areas needing attention, plus a cleaning to complete. Three visits later, and I could not be happier with the work they’ve done each and every time. The initial exam revealed 4 fillings needed. When Dr. Perez began his work, it turned out I only needed three fillings, so that’s just what he did. Honesty and integrity are clearly a priority in his practice. From experience I asked for a lower Novocain dose, and was pleased to have the doctor honor that request. I had ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN within my procedures, or after. I’ve never had such a good experience! This business offers — KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF — great dental care.
I don’t know exactly what they’re doing so much better than anyone else at Casa Dental — but I can tell you this… I want to go back to Casa Dental, every time… for EVERY need. I’d recommend them to anyone without hesitation. Casa Dental is something very special and I highly encourage your visit to them.
Casa Dental provided me the single BEST DENTAL SERVICES I’ve ever received… by a long-​shot!

I was weary about going to the dentist as it had been a while. I chose Casa Dental because of their amazing Unilocal reviews and I’m SO glad I went with them. The moment I walked into the office I was greeted with friendly faces that put me at ease since I was super nervous. The staff and doctor are phenomenal. Dr. Perez is very friendly and was able to answer any questions I had. He had recommended I extract my wisdom teeth at my first visit, and they didn’t just hand me a referral form, the staff actually went out of their way to double check my insurance for me and find me an oral surgeon that accepted my insurance. I left my first visit with a nice little welcome package from the office and great satisfaction that I chose Casa Dental.
Fast forward a couple weeks later…
Last night, just days after my wisdom teeth procedure, I started feeling excruciating pain at the extraction site. My oral surgeon’s office was closed today and I called Dr. Perez early this morning (6:30 am this morning!) to see if he could see me. He was able to fit me in this morning and take care of me, no problem.
Bottom line– great hours, great staff, great doctor, great overall experience. I am actually looking forward to my next dental visit… and who ever says that about the dentist? Thanks, Casa Dental!

I had been going to a dentist in La Jolla for some time when a friend recommended Casa Dental to me. I don’t live in the area, but thought I would give them a try based upon my friends recommendation. That was several years ago and I have been going to them ever since.
I started going because I had a broken tooth and needed a crown. I was fitted for the crown and shortly thereafter had it placed. Dr. Perez has a very gentle touch and something that really impressed me is when he called me at home later that day to see if I was doing okay or if I was having any pain. That kind of personal service is incredible!
They have a very nice office the staff are incredible. Very personable and friendly. You feel like family when going for a visit. Going back to the crown I had placed, it was half the cost my previous dental office had quoted me. They are always available when I have had minor emergencies like a lost filling and I’ve never had a problem when rescheduling an appointment.
If I were ever to move out of the area, I would likely make the drive to continue my care with them. They definitely provide the best care I’ve ever experienced and I absolutely recommend them to anyone who is in need of dental care or considering a new dentist. I live 40 miles away and it is well worth the drive for me.
