Falafel was dry. Hummus was too thick. Shawarma wrap was tasty. And no delivery=thumbs down. I travel to the Middle East/Mediterranean several times a year, and love the cuisine. Unfortunately, Bennie’s was a big let-down.

Phenomenal. I HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!! I loved the friendly customer service, the atmosphere, the décor, and most importantly the food. I never had Mediterranean food before, but they were spot on with the quality. I ordered the meat pie, sesame noodles, and the stuffed grape leaves. I was a little nervous at first since I was a newbie but everything was so fresh and well seasoned. It’s a rather small restaurant, but it packs a punch. This is a wonderful place with a cozy décor and good food. The service is very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Shwarma is awesome. The wraps are fantastic. There is a reason why this place gets consistently good reviews. They deserve it.

I ordered a Falafel Wrap to go. Quality ingredients and clean presentation. Potatoes were nicely season with a kick and cooked well. Cabbage slaw had a vinegary, herbal dressing. The wrap had a warm hummus filling with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce. Overall good quality, nothing to complain about but missing something to make it a 5 star dish.

OMG… why did we wait so long to walk into this amazing place?! Lived here for 3 years and just went in last night. First of all, friendly atmosphere… our waiter Vinny and the owner, Addy, were both welcoming and very attentive. The place is even more warm & beautiful than it appears online. Food? Holy ____! It’s soooo good! The hummus, babaganouh & mahamara appetizers were all delicious! I ordered the chicken shawarma(spicy) and the spicy eggplant. Can I just say«please make sure that’s on your menu when I return!» My husband liked his meal equally as much… the spicy lamb, the lemon & basil chicken… the list just goes on and on… the food is really scrumptious! Be back soon!

What a GREAT place. If you don’t like sitting near the next table, this is not your kind of place, but I think the owners want as many people as possible experiencing this deliciousness! My friend is a vegetarian and I’m not, so this is a perfect place. She has tons of great dishes to choose from and I can satisfy my craving for tasty, meaty kebobs! Appetizers were smooth hummus and smokey eggplant dip, served with warm pita and fresh veggies. My friend ordered a platter of roasted eggplant, mushrooms and the most delicious sautéed spinach EVER. I had two kebobs, one chicken one lamb, served over a bed of seasoned rice, with roasted cauliflower, red pepper, eggplant and a generous helping of homemade fries. I didn’t want it to end… Another plus, BYOB. Very convenient if your going to BPAC

Squeezed into a narrow store front on Palisade Ave, Bennies is a uniquely decorated establishment serving tasty Mediterranean food that caters to couples and larger groups. Our dinner this week was an enjoyable experience that will bring us back at some point in the future. Despite reviews to the contrary, we didn’t experience a crowded dining room or a long wait for our dishes. We were greeted by the owner, and service was prompt, accurate and polite. He also checked in on us a few times throughout the meal. As we’d never dined there before, we chose the«pick three» option that allowed us to explore the menu a little bit. We very much enjoyed the spinach mini pie, the sesame noodles, the cous cous and the stuffed grape leaves. The mohamara was a little spicy for my dining companion, but still well prepared. The Tabouli was also particularly good, and I enjoyed the tangy take on this traditional dish. We each added a kabob to our meal, and the meats were both disappointments. Her chicken kabob was dry and tough, while my kafta kabob was also quite dry and overly spiced for the small portion of meat. The shredded wheat, pistachio and honey cake for dessert made up for it. The owner greeted several repeat customers by name through the course of our dinner, confirming the virtue of the restaurant in the area. The dishes we enjoyed will bring us back to sample other elements of the menu. Prices are average and the restaurant is BYO.

Solid appetizers, salads, and kabobs. I love the Yogurt & Cucumber dip with pita, roasted beets, and hummus. The grape leaves are solid but pretty standard, as is the Greek salad. For a larger groupo, I would highly suggest the Mazza as it gives you a taste of everything. The chicken kabobs are extra tender, which I prefer, but if you like your chicken SUPER well-done, I would request that.

3.5 stars. I decided to try this place because it seems to be one of the most popular places per Unilocal at least. I had a take out of seasonal special with lamb. I thought the portion was a little smaller than I expected for the price I paid. falafel was not bad. Lamb was not bad either. Unfortunately it didn’t bring me the strongest impression. Nevertheless I am planning to try this place in the future as I would like to try other dishes.

I followed the reviews and I was not disappointed. I came in and had the kafta shwarma which was slightly spicy but so flavorful, even the potato wedges tasted amazing! I didn’t want to leave just yet so I ordered mint tea and baklava, mint tea was very traditional, and the baklava wasn’t a syrupy mess, thank god, and it gave me a chance to enjoy the décor, the ambience was on point, very laxed, and the art is nice too, I would recommend this location for a date. 5⁄5 would come again, gonna order the ahi next time.

This is a great place. Its small and casual but very cozy and all the staff are very friendly. The food is really great in most cases. The tabouleh, couscous, and hummus in particular are first rate. The pistachio chicken wrap was good. The only thing disappointing was the kofta which was under-sized and not particularly tasty. We’re definitely returning another time and trying other dishes.

Such a wonderfully pleasant surprise! I dined here yesterday and started with a cup of spicy chicken and spinach soup. It tasted like travel — the right type of spice, the perfect veggie to protein ratio, wonderful taste. My mother and I then had the lamb kabobs with hummus, yogurt and cucumber and grilled eggplant. I can’t say enough good things! The lamb was tender, flavorful and moist. The hummus fresh, filling and beautifully seasoned. The yogurt refreshing and crisp with cucumbers. The grilled eggplant some of the best I’ve ever had. Yes it is pricey, but well worth it. The flavors come alive in this dining experience and its uniqueness in atmosphere and culture is stunning. Well done!

We came on a Friday night about 45 minutes before closing. Surprisingly, we were the only patrons. The staff are dressed very casual, with jeans and sneakers. Their look doesn’t match the cosy ambiance and décor of the restaurant. The food is all very good. I did wonder how old some of the side items were, which are on display in a glass counter. However, everything we had tasted fine. The chicken shish kabob serving size was on the smallish side with only one skewer.

Read a million great reviews about this place, and since I literally work in the building next door, I decided to give it a try today. I order the Fresh Spinach Salad, and substituted the goat cheese with feta cheese.(They were very nice about that.) By far the BEST takeout salad ever! If all salads tasted this great, I’d have them all the time! The service was very quick; I waited less than 5 minutes. This was at 2:00 pm though, so I don’t know how quickly the turn around time is otherwise. The staff was amazingly friendly! Everyone smiled from the young man who took my order to the man who handed me my food. Greetings all around too — from the moment I stepped in to the minute I walked out! The space is so welcoming and so nicely decorated. It’s so cozy. I texted my sister while I was waiting for my food, and told her we MUST Bennies together. There’s no doubt I’ll be coming back here for more! It’ll be a bit on the pricey side for a salad(~ $ 12.00), but it’ll be very taste and filling!

I’ve been wanting to try Bennies for quite some time now since I work in the area and I’m really glad I finally went. I ordered the Kebob Special, which included a chicken or lamb kebob and 3 sides from the salads/sides options. I thought it was so much food, and it was, but it was all excellent so I was glad to have some leftover for another day. I ended up going with the lamb kebob, babagnoug, sauteed mushrooms, and Mediterranean salad. Nothing bad, to say here. I will comment on the price though $ 17 is pretty steep, even considering the area and I ordered it for pick-up. Not sure that I would do take-out again, but I would love to go back for dinner.

Just had an awesome lunch from Bennies! Finally found absolutely delicious Mediterranean food in our area! We ordered a bunch of different menu items to try out. Hummus with pita, lebneh dip, cranberry salad, pistachio crusted chicken wrap, Mini Pies: cheese and spinach, GARLICPOTATOES(OMG a must try), chicken shwarma sandwich, falafel wrap, chicken kabob and kufta kabob. The hummus with pita was creamy and smooth with a pickled vegetable on top, tasted really fresh. Lebneh dip wasn’t as tart as I’m used to but still very good. The mini pies were perfectly prepared with a delicious and light filling. The GARLICPOTATOES are amazing, flavored with garlic and lemon, definitely grab those as a side order with whatever you order. The chicken shwarma was jammed packed with grilled chicken, served w/parsley, tomatoes, pickles, onions, garlic spread & tahini sauce. Everyone is still talking about that sandwich and I can’t wait to try it out myself. My falafel wrap was pretty good, filled with a traditional falafel chock full of chickpeas. I requested no tomatoes, pickels or tahini and I loved it. My boss requested that I ask if they can make a custom dish for him with hummus, garlic potatoes with a chicken and kofta kabob. They did it without hesitation which was really nice and the kabobs were out of this world. He let me try some of the kofta kabob which I’m normally not a fan of but this out bursting with so many different flavors it left me craving more. Bennies also has some really great hot sauce if you are into the spicy scene. Almost comparable to hot oil we get when we order Chinese food but with MUCH more flavor and a really nice taste to it. We all can’t wait to order from here again later this week!
