Quick delivery and good prices. $ 5 delivery charge and very bland food are the problem here. White sauce is extremely bland. Mixed platters are barely seasoned. Addy’s BBQ mixed platters are 10x better. Unfortunately they only deliver within a half mile of their establishment.

I see a lot of bad reviews in here and they all have there reasons. I on the other hand liked the place. I ordered the mixed platter and felt that it was a big portion. It had its meat, rice and salad and included in the side was the hot sauce and white sauce to add at your discretion. I felt that by going there I got to know what is available and I wasn’t disappointed.

The owner is horrible. He screwed up my delivery order, when I called him and told him the screw up, he said«so what?» it all went downhill from there. I told him I’d like the food replaced and he told me to wait another Hour! Real peice of work this guy. I was so angry that I brought the food back myself and he started yelling at me! Aside from all that, the food just looked nasty. I was a first and last time customer. This guy needs to be put out of business

I dont know why it has soo many bad reviews, food is great. Seasoned well & delivery was less than the 20 minutes asked. But my only complaint was that after i recieved my food for delivery, the driver called me and said we wont deliver again because i didnt tip ?. Thats terrible & if they really do tell their workers to say that then its a shame

The food was inedible. How can you mess up something so simples as chicken fingers and French fries? It was so gross and soggy and tasteless it was tossed after the second bite. The Gyro which my coworker ordered lacked any sort of flavoring and it was described to me as a mess of overcooked chopped chicken, cucumber sauce topped with one measly tomato. Another co-worker called the food quality«public school cafeteria food» at best.

I wish the delivery charge wasn’t so expensive. Minimum is $ 15.00. Me being one person I can’t eat $ 15.00 worth of food

Great food, great service, and great prices. You have to try the beef gyro platter! The staff is friendly and greet you when you walk in. It’s refreshing to see some businesses still know the meaning of good customer service.

It’s not greasy, which is always a plus for me. It tasted good, the white sauce is really what makes the platter… And it’s tasty! Overall good eats. I ordered here a handful of times, same consistency which is what I expect. Delivery is pretty on point. 20 – 30 minutes…

I just received the order ½ hr ago but I could not wait longer to write my review because the food was so bad. I ordered chicken and rice for me and chicken Gyro sandwich for my wife. I have to say this is the worst chicken & rice I have ever had in my whole life. The chicken is very greasy and it lacks flavor, salt, and/or pepper. It is under grilled. I am an Arab who tried so many chicken n rice places in my life and I can say for sure this is the absolute worse. It is incomparable to the one in NYC/6th ave halal guys although this one is more expensive. The same apply to the chicken gyro sandwich as it is the same material. Also, we ordered the«jumbo» salad with vinegar and olive oil and it came almost plane with no real dressing. Long story short, it was the worst $ 30 I ever spent on anything.

I ordered the Chicken and Rice bowl the other night for my wife while I was picking up some Papa John’s next door. I really wanted this place to be a success since the Halal Guys on 6th Ave are so far away. The guys were nice enough too. Well, when we got home my wife tried it and said it was horrible. My wife is a picky eater, so I gave it a shot. Well, DID taste horrible. The chicken had a very strong poultry smell. The rice was just bland. The white sauce was yogurty and the hot sauce is more like Frank’s hot sauce. We took a bite each and threw it away. It was that bad. Sorry, wish it could work, but it really sucks. The guys seem nice enough so hopefully you will just avoid this dish.

Love their juicy burgers… their burgers are the ones I eat when I want to indulge and deliciously shut down my appetite.

Best halal hot wings hands down!!! Order the super hot wings and you’ll be coming back for more. The place is very clean and bright and very kid friendly. The owner runs the place with great love and sincerity. Don’t believe the bad reviews.

This place was a JOKE. I called for delivery, I used their online ordering system. The manager called me and started asking me all kinds of questions about my order, which irritated me to begin with. Obviously I ordered delivery because I didn’t want the hassle of going anywhere or dealing with anyone because I was sick. They delivered it and THEN he had the NERVE to call me and tell me he undercharged me and he needed to send a driver to come collect more money?! This wasn’t a huge undercharge, he undercharged me by $ 2.00 and I hope he didn’t take that from the driver, but he probably did. It blew my mind. I was really hoping for this place to work, but after the aggravation of all the phone calls during my business hours, I will never order here again. The food was OK. Nothing special and def not worth being harassed by phone calls, it really was that ridiculous.

Finally tried NYC Platters amidst the mixed reviews and can say it has real potential. It’s more than good enough to satisfy a craving for the platter without traveling to the city(or even Fairlawn) if you’re a local. I actually think the rice and meat is closer to being identical to 53rd and 6th. Alas, the sauce is where it loses a bit of gas. Both the white sauce and hot sauce were watery and runny. I didn’t mind the hot sauce being watered down, but the white sauce has to be a little thickened. And they only include 1 of each sauce. Had the wings and they were pretty good as well. ** Had this again 2 months later and it was not as good. White sauce was really watery and disappointing.

I say this as a fan of Hilton(old schooler term for the Halal Guys), Pizza Time, Juicy Platters, and whatever you can find in Jackson Heights, but NYC Platters works. It may not be the ZOMG gyro platters you’ve been waiting for, but when it’s lunchtime, and you absolutely want your food fast, fried(or grilled), and flavorful, then here you go. I’ve eaten here multiple times, trying different things each outing: lamb gyro platter, philly cheese steak, bbq cheeseburger with fries, etc. etc. The food tastes like what you would expect from a fast-food place or a halal street cart. I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews and I urge you not to listen to them. The food can only be considered«bland» when you compare it to high-end Middle Eastern restaurants; even then, there is always a certain«blandness» that goes with kebabs/gyros. I recommend this place to anyone who is just jonesing for a quick platter… or a philly cheesesteak… or kebab… or fish fillet… or fried chicken… etc. etc. etc.

I wanted it to work. I really did want to write a better review. As a fan of the Halal Guys on 6th Ave. and, for us Jersey faithful, Juicy Platters in Fair Lawn, I wanted this to be the new LOCAL place to get chicken and rice. But it’s not just not as good. Not bad, but not as good. I got the lamb, which was kinda dry and too chewy. The rice and the lettuce were standard. The white sauce made the lamb a little more«juicy». My wife got the chicken, which was a bit too salty for my palate. I’d still rather trek it to Fair Lawn’s Juicy Platters, which I had recently, than come here… which is a shame, since I live so close to Teaneck.

The Good The platters here are decent. But just as the other reviews stated, the meat to rice ratio is way off. Tons of rice and very little meat. Assuming this place fixes this problem, the platters should be the ONLY thing you order here! The Bad This place doesn’t even try to hide how cheap the ingredients are. Think school lunch quality but worse! The pita bread that comes with the platters are stale and nasty. They taste like they were just defrosted in a microwave. Their hummus is watery and cheap with way too much weird tasting olive oil. The WTF? The«cheese» in the macaroni and cheese is plain yogurt blended with cheap nacho sauce, it’s really disgusting. Order it and see for yourself. If you cut the«chicken sandwich» patty in half you will get sick to your stomach. It looks like pinkish(yes pink) cartilage chunks mixed with foam. I took a picture with my phone and will upload it. (We’ve ordered from here a total of 3 times, the first time it was just the platters so all seemed decent. The 2nd and 3rd time we tried other things and it just was so gross that I will not order again)

If you are a fan of the Halal Guys cart on 53rd&6th in NYC and live in or around Teaneck, NJ, then this restaurant will satisfy your craving for a decent gyro platter. Having said that, I will say that this is a good addition to the area. The gyro platter is good enough to warrant a return visit. My only issue with it is the meat to rice ratio. Too little gyro meat with way too much rice. If the owner fixes the ratio and provides more value for the $ 6.99 platter than NYC Platters could warrant a fourth star. Then this restaurant could come closer to attaining platter greatness set by the Halal guys in NYC. In addition to the Platters they have an extensive menu that provides decent fried chicken and heroes. A convenient location is probably its greatest feature for me. I shall return and look forward to a fix in the ratio.

For people in NJ, you’ll be relieved to find out that you can save yourself a ton of money from gas and toll by just coming here to get your«mixed» fix. Food was extremely fresh and very tasty. Since they’re not a standalone cart, they have a menu similar to a Kennedy’s Fried Chicken with your usual burgers and fried chicken too. They also have salads if you’re like a rabbit but it’s all about that mixed plate so just get that and you won’t go wrong. Honestly, the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that it closes«early» at 11 on weekends and only 10 on weekdays. Everybody knows this stuff tastes better after midnight so hopefully they can get the town to let them stay open until at least 2−3am on weekends.
