SynFast Oil Change

I just got my oil changed here a few weeks ago. I get it that they feel the need to up sell additional services but I have a real problem with them telling me that I really need to get my front brake pads replaced.
I told them it’s ok I’ll pass today and the guy seriously tells me that if it were him he wouldn’t feel comfortable driving away considering how low mine are. So even though I am crunched for time I authorize him to replace them since it scared me & I didn’t want to risk my baby’s life while driving. They end up encountering a problem with my wheel and can’t get it off. So I go to Costco later to see if they can fix the wheel and they can’t but they tell me that
my front brake pads do NOT need to be replaced.
Needless to say, I won’t be returning and spending my money here every again!

Just moved to San Diego and my pathfinder was making a strange sound. Stopped in to this auto shop and the people were amazing. It is honestly the first time in my life I didn’t feel taken advantage of in this type of situation. …
Conlin and Brian were the techs that checked and fixed the car.
If I could stand on the street corner and flag people in I would legit have done that. The price was beyond belief lower than expected. Hundreds less.

Totally unprofessional place. Brought my Lexus CT200h (basically a prius) for oil change. Usual upsell attempts that are annoying… synthetic blend for $ 65. Their website says they honor Jiffy lube and Valvoline coupons, so I show the coupon to bring it down to the pricing of the other guys. At that point they tell me they’re out of the synthetic blend and have only synthetic ($ 165)…seriously?
Never coming back to these hacks!

Still a great place to come to for oil changes and maintenance! These guys do a great job!

SynFast oil change was fast and friendly. I have no complaints. Yes they did try to sell me on some other services but what oil change place doesn’t.

I have been here many times for oil changes because it is close to my house. I expect the attempt to upsell me additional services but I usually refuse. Today I was in dire need of an oil change so I drove in at 1:30 p.m. and there was only one vehicle in the bay. A young man quickly jogged out to welcome me and proceeded to say he was working on the radiator of HIS Toyota and the other bay was closed because they were changing out a light fixture. It would be at least an hour before they could change my oil. REALLY??? An employee is using the ONLY available bay for his own vehicle during business hours and turning away paying customers??? Obviously, customers are not important here. I will not be back.

Didn’t end up getting my oil changed here (it was pricey) but wanted to leave a note on their excellent customer service. Conlan (sorry if I butchered the name) was super friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with my lack of car knowledge and and even answered all of my dad’s questions over the phone regarding an oil change. Thanks for being awesome!

They were good and fast. The only issue I had was they wanted to charge and extra $ 25 to rotate tires. If you pay $ 73.00 for an oil change I would think you throw that in as a courtesy.

Bait & Switch Greasemonkey went in for a low cost oil change I was the only customer he kept up selling and up selling and upselling. Stay Away

Pros:
Fast, convenient location for me.
Cons: upsale left and right. No I don’t want synthetic, no I don’t want an airfilter I just replaced myself last month or the cabin filter that’s 3 months old.
Standard sales pitch that I need belts plus other stuff replaced. Ridiculous part, My Prius that uses 3.8 quarts of oil was $ 47.53 for the change of standard oil, NOT synthetic. I will not be back.

I still find it funny to be reviewing places other than restaurants on here. Usually when I eat, I’m excited to share what I thought and felt about the meal with friends and total strangers. Yet, going to get work done on my car, doesn’t seem like it should hold the same level of passion.

And, still, places like Synfast sit in my queue, staring at me with the a cocked head and squinting eye, demanding I at least say something quick about my experience there. It’s easy to wave away having to write a review for The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, not so much a place that did good work and probably deserves something more than an /​ignore.
So, Synfast Oil Change, I like them and plan on going to get another oil change in the future. I went in with an engine that had been bone dry of oil, refused to start, and had a quart poured on top of the soot to get her going. They had my car up on the table, drained, cleaned, and refilled all in about the time it took to make two phone calls. And this was all done for about $ 22. That’s good stuff.
The only qualms I have that keep this from being an overenthusiastic five stars is the extra stuff they tried to tack on the bill; which, I can understand why they do as it’s how they get extra business. But, when you know what you want, what you can afford, and what you’re only willing to get, it can still be annoying.
«Yes, I know I have a slow, oil leak through the gasket. No, I don’t want to pay $ 50 a quart for the synthetic oil that might help plug it up. Yes, I know, it’ll keep leaking. No, I think I would rather pay $ 3 every season instead of that $ 50 every two seasons.»
Yeah, come to get an oil change, ignore the rest, enjoy the quick service and low cost.

Inexpensive, quick, friendly and easy.
My car requires synthetic oil, and they are the best deal around. We took both our cars there recently on separate occasions and both times we were helped immediately with no appointment and done in less than 25 minutes.

Ryan was the best. I’ve been coming here for a few years, and he by far is my favorite. EXCELLENT customer service and he really took care of me! I will be coming back because of him :)

Not sure why all the bad reviews. The manager was helpful and answered all my questions… I received superior service and will definitely be back! The team that is there seems to work really well together.

Never had a good feeling about this place but it’s very close to my house so once in a while I get oil changed here.
I gotta say this much — they are fast but it doesn’t seem like they are interested in customer satisfaction. I was asked if i wanted the synthetic oil because it lasts 5 to 6 thousand miles which is longer than the regular. This is true. Synthetic is great for your car. I agreed at the higher cost and asked if they’d check the battery because i was having start up problems. Why would I ask an oil change place for this service??? Because last time i was here they told me the battery was very low and I said i’d take care of it myself. That time I drove away and the battery died at the next signal light. Weird right? Not blaming them but it is weird.
Anyway, that is why I asked if they’d check this time. Well, they changed the oil fast and advised me that the breaks are near replacement time and the belts are cracking etc… These things are always noted as needing replacement on my cars. Again I said i would do that myself. So my oil was changed and I walked out to pay the guy and asked him if they checked the battery. He said «uh, no. We forgot». Then he yelled to one of the guys now sitting on the floor and resting against the wall who yelled back a big «Yeah it’s good». But then the guy said, «it’s ok if it’s low cause you can still drive for a while when they are dying». Well damn, I am full of confidence now. Whatever. l drove out of the lot and looked at the service sticker on the windshield that read change oil at a number only 3 thousand miles from what my odometer read at that moment.
So, wait! Did I pay more for the synthetic oil but get the regular oil? Am I a big sucker for going to this place? I sure feel like it. There’s a few types of businesses that should always be on top of their game because of fraud in the industry and anything automotive related is at the top of that list.
If you don’t sell confidence, sooner or later, you wont sell anything.
Done with this place. There’s another oil change place not much further down the road.

Where do I start? First off, I’ve been here three times for a synthetic ($ 19.95) oil change, both for my truck and my wife’s car. Every trip has been a decent experience, minus a little bit of pushy sales tactics and up-​selling on the employee’s part.
Today, however, will ensure that I stay far, far away from this place forever.
I pulled my wife’s car in and a young mechanic asked what I needed done. «A basic oil change; the cheapest; the one you have advertised on the sign right out there,» I said.
«OK, no problem,» he replied as he prepped the car for a simple oil change.
I stepped away and this where things got dicy…
The manager, sensing I was going to get away with only paying $ 20 dollars or so for the shop there started to push some seriously aggressive sales tactics on me, essentially throwing in the kitchen sink litany of «things» I needed done on the car.
I told him I wasn’t interested today and he kept on pushing; in fact he got more aggressive and even rude.
«Are you telling me that you don’t care what the manufacturer’s recommendations are,» he snidely chided me.
At this, I actually got quite angry and we went back and forth. Knowing I was angry, I walked away and heard him laugh at me!
Talk about an unprofessional, ridiculous jerk. I firmly believe this «manager» would be fired if his behavior were known. If not, this company is going to cease operations pretty soon.
I actually feel bad for the nice young men that work at this establishment.
Avoid at all costs.

I have taken my Honda here a few times and each time has been a good experience. These guys are fast and honest about what items need to be taken care of and what can wait for a little while. I get the high milage oil so its a little more expensive but I plan to drive this car until the wheels fall off.

These guys are truly awesome! I have had so many things wrong with my car lately and they are so honest and helpful! Even when they don’t have the tools to help me with the problem of the week with my very difficult car, they help me figure out how to solve the problem at hand. I see no reason anyone would go anywhere else, especially for an oil change– you even get a free car wash next door! But seriously, they are great! Ben, the manager is so skilled and actually nice! And Brian and the rest of the guys there are great too!

I dug this place. I showed up at around 5:15pm on a Saturday (they close at 6) and I was able to get right in. The staff was friendly and helpful. They directed me to the lobby, which isn’t the greatest place in the world, but that didn’t matter because I was there for about 15 total minutes. They were really, really quick.
As oil change places go, it wasn’t too bad. Prices were high but on par with other quick lube places. The lobby was a very small room with magazines and that’s it. Again, it didn’t suck too much because I wasn’t there that long.
I usually prefer to go to an actual mechanic for oil changes, but this place is certainly one that I will stop by again when I need a quick weekend dinosaur-​blood swap.
