I have a VW and usually take it to Herman Cook in Encinitas, which has been fine, but my last oil change I decided to do something different and took it to Midas because of good reviews in Unilocal.Jeff at Midas went the extra mile with me when my check-​engine-​light came on the day after the oil change. I didn’t know if it was a fluke or what so t called Jeff and he had me come in and did the diagnostics on it for no charge. Good feelings for Midas!

Y’ALL, Jeff at Midas is my guardian angel. I’ve been here several times over the past year and every time I walk out feeling like I got a great deal from a friend. I’ve never had any issues with the work they’ve done for me (oil changes, A/​C compressor, mass airflow) and Jeff does whatever he can to get you the best price. I never write reviews, but it’s so rare to see someone who obviously cares so much about the customers. The rest of the staff is great as well.

ask for Jeff (the store manager) when you go in. He’s really knowledgeable and fair. About a year ago I stopped at a different shop close by and they wanted over a grand to make a repair on our 2007 suburban. I stopped by midas and met Jeff Check. I asked him to Check out the same problem. I did not tell him what the other mechanic said. He called me with the $ 1000 option but said he thought he could fix it for a couple hundred without ordering the overpriced part. It worked. he’s had out business ever since. Not just for brakes and oil changes but for tires and mechanical failures of any kind.

I went to Midas to get the Check Engine light figured out. Jeff kindly requested me to pull the car over in front of the shop. Within two minutes, he was able to point out the problem after I had mentioned that the car went through an oil change and air filter change. He opened up the hood, and replaced the hose back into its original position. He grabbed the tool from the store to clear the error message. Within 15 minutes, I was out of the shop with no Engine Check light. He is the best. Highly recommended

I had a basically flat tire from a nail. Midas had the tired patched and me out the door within 20 minutes. And they didn’t charge me for anything!

They are honest! That says a lot by itself! Jeff took me to the back and showed me what he was going to recommend and it wasn’t a rush fix that needed to be done now. I will be a regular customer here for sure and recommend others try it because you’ll be impressed too.

I love my car repair shop! Jeff is a rad down to earth guy and David is also very relaxed and easy to talk to. They do great work and they always go out of their to squeeze me in. They also let me bring my baby dog inside and greet her as well. I don’t like going to other places cause I don’t trust they will do good work. Midas Encinitas is great!

My experience at the Midas on El Camino Real was perfect and simple. Jeff took great care of me and my car! I came right in without an appointment and got straight into it. It took no time at all and they gave me a few points about my car they would help me take care of for an affordable price! Will definitely be coming back!

I just brought my car in for an oil change and there was a new guy working on my car. He took apart my dash and pulled out the cabin air filter (which apparently hadn’t been cleaned in awhile) and recommended I get a new one. Mark did a great job working on my car and this is why I love being here.
Jeff and Mark also recommended some work be done on my car and honestly, my bank accounts not where I’d like it to be. I asked which work I need the most and he found me some awesome quotes for what work I need done.
Basically, Jeff is one of a kind here at Midas and I trust his word. I’m bringing all my friends here.

Jeff just changed the third tail light above the back window which Toyota told me needed a special tool to remove the housing. They said it would have been $ 30 or more so to do. Midas just charged me on the bulb as I am a lifetime oil change customer!

I always go to Midas for my oil changes. This Midas is right down from work and they are always friendly and nice. They are quick and always let me know how my car is doing. I will always come back. Great service!

Second time I’ve been here. Almost went to Chrysler, but this place is less expensive, very professional, and faster. Changed oil and did alignment while I waited.

After the disaster that was my experience with the Toyota service department (the bolts on my exhaust literally fell off because they didn’t tighten them enough and the pipe wasn’t even attached anymore, and the sub-​frame bolts were about to fall off also, which could have caused all kinds of problems) they tightened the loose bolts and even popped in a couple new bolts in the exhaust line for free, since I didn’t have the money to pay for it at the moment… Jeff didn’t want to see me leave with that kind of a major problem!!! Now that’s good service!!!

I had spoken to several different dealerships in the area regarding my tire but Jeff at Midas was the only one who was quick to help me fix the problem at almost no time. The rest of the staff was very friendly as well… I’ll be coming back if I have anymore car troubles! Thank you

To help put a point on just how fantastic the service I got from these guys at Midas was, this is the first time I have EVER felt the need to go out a write a review for any company, whether good or bad.
I have had an ongoing nightmare of a brake job that I was attempting at home with the help of a friend, and we were running into hurdle after hurdle every step of the way with shops misquoting prices, promising to have parts in stock then being out of stock when we showed up, and my friend’s tools going missing, so when my friend dislocated his fingers and couldn’t help me anymore, my frustration and stress levels while throwing in the towel and calling Midas were Stratospheric.
Thankfully, choosing Midas at random was the best thing I could ever have done, I got Jeff on the phone and explained that I already had all the parts, and may have even vented a little bit about Autozone to him as well. He was very understanding and quickly quoted my his prices for the labor since I would provide the parts, and when the high end of the estimate was going to make me have to wait until my next paycheck to get things finished, he reassured me that they would do what they could to get things taken care of within my budget. I brought my truck in as they were closing that day when I got off work, and it was ready far sooner than I could have imagined it would be the next day, and when it came to the price, Jeff was true to his word and was able to work within my budget to get me back on the road.
I have never had an auto shop that went out of their way to take care of their customers like this one does. Jeff in particular seemed to have made it his mission to go above and beyond and to get me back on the road. Everything prior to my trip to Midas during this brake job was a nightmare, and just kept compounding on itself and getting worse. Midas made all of that go away for me and for that they have earned themselves a life-​long customer

I love this Midas. I always know they can fit me in and not give me the run around. Everybody is so friendly and professional and like i said in my last review, they make u feel welcome and like they aren’t gouging you and doing unnecessary things to your a car like a lot of other mechanic places tend to do. I love how easy it is and I’m always left feeling like my car was taken care of and i made the right decision. Jeff is always friendly to everyone and really seems to genuinely care and take things seriously. Its refreshing. Thank you Midas and Jeff!!!

You think «how can an oil change experience be great? «. Well, let me tell you… first David and Jeff get an A++ for customer service. Both were so friendly and accommodating on the phone when I made my appointment. Second, my appointment was prompt and I was able to walk next door for breakfast and a latte. They called me in 45 minutes when the carb was done and it was fast. The knocking is gone from my car because of fresh, clean oil.. They did not try to up-​sell me with an oil flush or anything I didn’t need. After the oil was done he did tell me the transmission fluid should be changed soon. I was SO impressed he told me AFTER the oil change so I could see for myself. He gained so must trust from me. I definetly will take all my cars here!

How often does someone give an auto service place a five-​star review? Something about the words «auto service» can put just about anyone on edge. It’s the great unknown at times. You’re trusting people you don’t know to tell you the truth. And all too often people use that to an unfair advantage. If you look at the Unilocal reviews for other businesses you’ll see how many of them are untrustworthy. But these guys rock.
Alan and Dave took care of my vehicle and were straight forward about it. You can tell they’re the kind of guys who love cars in general and then made a career out of it.
Midas is best known for brakes and alignment work but they do a number of other services so check them out even if you just need an out change.
No up-​charges here, no BS, just a good garage that gets the job done at a fair price. I’m not the first guy to give these gentleman five stars because they are well worthy of the rating.

I’ve been servicing my car, like most of you for a long time. I’ve never felt more at home than this Midas location. The manager is always ready to help and has handled every issue with my car as simplistic as possible. Dan the mechanic knows his stuff and Jeff at the front desk always makes it an easy process to get in and out.
Honest and hardworking group that always makes me feel like I am getting the best deal.
They even have a free über ride for 1^st time users that need it!
