I had a great experience with Chris. I needed my HVAC system cleaned and serviced. He inspected my system, took photos, and explained to me what was going on by showing me the photos he took. He also explained what he was going to do to service my HVAC system, step by step, and completed what he said he would do with no issues. My system is working well now. It’s been about a month now since Patterson Heating and Air installed our new HVAC system and its been AWESOME! They finished the work in just one day and they did a great job of cleaning up after. We love our new system! So glad we went with Patterson Heating and Air, great service and great system!

We seem to be going through HVAC companies like water. After three very, very bad experiences with other companies in the area, we called Patterson for a second opinion. He came out immediately, and put in the legwork to come up with the most practical and affordable fix. Our repair was a very lengthy process due to a part needing to be ordered from out of state, but Chris continued to give us updates, and did not try to upsell us on a more expensive unit or overhaul. When it was time for the work to be completed, the two guys who showed up to the house were friendly, efficient, and professional. This is the first HVAC company I have come across that seems genuine and out to actually help their customers. We will definitely recommend them in the future!

AC went out during the hottest day of the week before a holiday weekend. Called Patterson and got lucky because Chris had just finished a job in the neighborhood and was willing to take our case at 7pm. After a quick assessment Chris was able to get cold air blowing out and everything working within the hour.
Chris was professional and trustworthy during the whole process.

I called Patterson Heat and Air for the first time when our air conditioner was not working and of course it was 100 degrees. Before calling I had read other reviews and checked the BBB. I made a few calls to other companies who have still not returned my call and Chris called me back within the hour. Chris worked me into his schedule and accommodated my schedule to get me the earliest appointment. He arrived on time and quickly assessed our problem and gave us options to solve our problem. He did not just try to sell me a new unit, he explained what the problem was, showed us what he was doing, and gave us the cost of the different solutions. He had all the parts on his truck and was able to fix the problem in the same visit.

After using a big «chain» heating/​air company for many years I decided to go with a smaller company to service my commercial building. I’ve been using Patterson Heating & Air at my commercial building for over a year now and couldn’t be happier. I was looking for more personal service and Chris delivers that.
Chris comes to my facility every 3 months for Qt. maintenance to make sure my 5 units are operating properly. He keeps me up to date on any potential issues my units may have… before an emergency 911 call has to be made.
On the rare occasion that I’ve had to call Chris outside his normal 3 month visit, he is always at my facility within 24 hours, often times even the same day. I think he is fair, personal yet professional. I’m glad I decided to go with a company that can provide more one: one service. I don’t fee like I’m getting taking advantage of like I did with the «bigger companies»

Chris has helped me twice now. Once in an emergency and the second for a simple repair. Both times I’ve been super pleased with the service and price Chris gave me. He’s my go to guy for anything heating or air conditioning. If you’re looking for someone to fix your heating or air conditioning, you can’t go wrong here.

Had them out to do a tune up off a living social deal. Took 2 calls to get a call back for an appt. After checking the AC unit (looks fine), cleaning it w a solvent (had to pay more for that) & balancing it he said he was gonna check the heater in the attic. Great! He comes down & tells me I need to replace the heating element. I did this about 2 years ago for several hundred dollars so I was surprised. The final quote was a couple thousand dollars to repair & we were told we could die of carbon monoxide poisoning if we turned it on. The final bill was a few hundred bucks & we were left w a estimate for several thousand for things that needed to be replaced. The tech said he’d call us back to let us know if was under warranty. No call. We felt it was a high pressure sale at the end & crazy expensive so needed a second opinion.
My husband’s friend works for another HVAC company. He checked it out & was so shocked as soon as he got up there he had my husband come up too. He asked «WHO touched this last?!!» We told him the above info. «I can’t believe they left it like this! Part of the exhaust system is open because they didn’t put the screws back in! That could have killed you from carbon monoxide!» The screws weren’t even on the floor so he got new ones to put in. And the best part– the heating element was FINE, just not the usual one they use. I’ve never given a one-​star review but this seems to be seriously unethical conduct, or at best, incompetence.

I called this company with a coupon deal… thought it would be a good idea to get a tune/​up on my AC. When I called they were available with many appointment times, that is good, however my thoughts were they’re not very busy… Hummm 1^st clue! I made an appointment for a day I was off work. The tech arrived within the time frame and as soon as he rang the door bell he was on his cell phone which he proceeded to be on most of the time he was there. Leonard was his name, seemed nice enough. Said my AC was getting tired and could use to have the condenser replaced, I just had it installed only about 4 years ago. He said I should call the company who installed it and have them check it out.
It was a pretty warm day that he was at my house, however I usually choose to not run the A/​C and just cool down with the Delta breeze. He left and I did not turn the A/​C on until the weekend when the temperature was suppose to over 100. I closed the house up and turned it on in the morning, at about 7am. By the afternoon the house was cooking inside… I went outside and saw that the unit was not running, so I assumed the unit had went out just like he said??? I called the company that installed the unit and they said they could get out on Monday afternoon… so I took time from work to meet the tech.
They came out for a reduced fee of $ 99. to check out the unit… and found the tech had removed the fuses from the power and had not put them back in!!!
When I called to complain the guy on the phone said whoops guess you should have called us back??? Hello??? Is this how it works???
Did not offer me anything in return for the inconvenience of roasting for a couple of days, time without pay for needing to be home for another service call, and then the cost of another service call…

I have a rental property with a home warranty and had Chris from Patterson Heating come out. I needed a new furnace (after 22 years I wasn’t surprised) and he was willing to speak directly to the home warranty company to assist with all of their questions. I was very happy with his service. I asked him to redo some ducts that the previous owner had incorrectly installed (3 8″ ducts were being fed by one source and it was keeping 2 of them from working well). Home warranty covered about 80%, so I was tickled to get a new furnace after 22 years at a very low cost. I called him today to come and look at my own home.

Two weeks ago when the heat wave over 109 degrees outside, I called Patterson Heat & Air Conditioning when my A/​C was just blowing hot air. A very nice gentleman named Chris came out to my house gave me an estimate, made a temporary fix till the new motor arrives. Today Chris came over and replace the my A/​C with a new motor, fixed the fuse box, replace the breaker with the correct amps so that my A/​C wouldn’t trip the breaker anymore. During the process Chris even threw in a cleaning and leveled my A/​C evenly. I’m thoroughly impressed with his professionalism and pride in his work and he will work around your schedule. I highly recommend Patterson Heating & Air Conditioning for your A/​C repair. Very friends, professional and takes pride in their work. I will be more then happy to refer this company to my friends when they ask if I know of a respectable Heating/​Air Conditioning. Thank you, Chris!

Friendly and showed up fast! Didn’t try to sell me anything more than I needed. Great service, my air conditioner is working great now, we are nice and cool inside while its 100+ degrees outside.

I’ve used their services twice now, once for heating and once for air conditioning, and I like these guys. Although they’re based in Elk Grove, they do service Sacramento, which I’m glad. Their website also posts specials on diagnostic services, and a price, which is really affordable, which I also like very much.
On both service calls, they wore boot covers to keep my house clean. They came in, checked out my heater /​A/​C unit, and told me what was exactly wrong with no extra fluff. I’m an engineer and a handyman, I know when I’m being sold extra unnecessary services. In each case, it boiled down to one thing that needed to be replaced. They wrote their findings down on the receipt and left it up to me if I wanted them to make the repair. No sales pressure, which I love.
Bottom line, I love this company and will be calling them for all my future HVAC needs. The tech’s are friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy salesman trying to sell you extra unnecessary services. I keep their card on my fridge and that already came in handy for my latest call for my A/​C.

Patterson’s heating and air was there when our AC went out. They came out the next day and were able to get us up and going. We signed up for thier maintenance service and its been nice. Nothing like a good tuneup before the weather turns cold or hot.

Wow things were fine of the first call until the unit didn’t work a few days after. They came back out but charged us with a sensor this time for a wall heater. My husband thought the part was pretty pricey and commented on it. They ended up not charging for the labor/​diagnostic which is weird in itself. Maybe trying to make up for the first call not being completed as a good fix. I later looked up the sensor online and it sells for $ 62.00. They charged us $ 128.00 I even e-​mailed the service tech Chris about this and said if you’d take advantage of myself and my husband who knows how you treat the elderly. No response what so ever. I’d hate to see everybody else get ripped off like this… stay away from this guy. I’m reporting him to the contractors board

Let me set the scene: I’m sitting on my couch with a sweater and coat, double socks, and a blanket with just the bitter fire of horrid customer service to keep me warm. Why you ask? Because it’s 58 degrees in my home and I have been waiting 3 days for Patterson Heating and Air to fix my heater.
It all began, as most tales do, with a deal from one of” those” websites. I’m always up for a great deal and for getting to know new businesses in my area and huzzah — the deal came up the day my heater broke! Kismet — we were meant to be!
I called immediately and asked to book an appointment. The earliest they could see me (this was last Thursday I called) was Christmas Eve day. They gave me a 4 hour window and I agreed to the appointment. Yes, it would be an inconvenience for me — day before a holiday and all, but it was really cold! I gave them all my information — including my full address and phone number — and bundled myself up for the wait. And wait I did.
On the 24^th, I arranged my schedule to be at home from 11 – 3. 11:00am came and went. Then noon, then 1.. . I understood it was a busy day for them so I waited until 2:30 to check on the status. I called and this is what I was told: «We’ve already been to your place but you didn’t tell us it was a condo so we didn’t know which house to go to and we somehow got your number wrong and couldn’t call you»

Now, a disclaimer: I’m not a 5 year old child; I know my phone number and address — by heart! I’m also an event professional; I understand the importance of giving clear and accurate information. I tried to remain calm as I told Chris that I had given him the correct information and then asked when they would be over. I won’t get into the whole back and forth, but it basically involved me saying the word ‘unacceptable’ a million times and he saying ‘well,…’ About a million and one. In the end, I agreed to have them come out today if I were given a discount on any additional services that might be needed.
You may be asking, then why are you still so cold?! Ahh, because they screwed up again! I was given a window from 9 – 11 and, again, I made room in my schedule. Having learned my lesson earlier, I started calling at 9:45 asking them where they were. Nothing. Then 10. Then 10:10. Then 10:18. Finally at 10:30 I got a hold of Chris. Unfortunately, he said, they wouldn’t be able to get here until noon, apologized for the inconvenience, and said that at least they would be really nice when they finally got there.

I understand that this is a really busy season for them and stuff comes up but to fail on such an epic level with customer service is inexcusable. You have an angry customer — make her your first stop when you reschedule the appointment. Phone numbers and addresses are essential to your business — develop a system that ensures you have the correct information. Running late — show the courtesy to call and let the customer know there is an issue.
On my last call with Chris, I asked him «as a business owner, tell me what you want to do to make this better and make me a happy customer.» He really couldn’t articulate an answer beyond they were ‘nice’.
I found an answer; they’re called Sierra Aire Heating and Air Conditioning. They’re coming today and have already called me to tell me they were coming early. Good customer service? It warms the heart :)
