Specialties
Manguz Ranch is family owned and operated with the mission to provide fresh, all natural, grass-fed goat, and lamb to local consumers. All of our animals are treated with respect, raised without antibiotics or hormones, and thrive on a grass-fed diet. It is our core belief that maintaining a healthy, sustainable environment with respect for the life of each animal is the key to healthier and better-tasting meat and cheese.
History
Established in 2005.
While Dr. Guzmán makes a concerted effort to stay up-to-date with current urban trends, his passion for country living has impacted his business directives time and time again. This may be due to the fact that Dr. Guzmán grew up on a farm, selling feed and stock alongside his parents, and milking cows with his grandfather. Throughout the years in Mexico, Dr. Guzmán and his wife, Patricia, have started, owned, and operated a pharmacy, three restaurants, an orchard, and three sons – who will likely take offense at this verb usage. In more recent history, after migrating to California, Dr. Guzmán performed much less glamorous job roles, including direct sales to Spanish-speakers. Dr. Guzmán subsequently worked as a Realtor for several years until he and his family bought 13-acres of bare land where Dr. Guzmán oversaw the construction of his current ranch home.
Meet the Business Owner
Victor M.
Business Owner
Manguz Ranch is the place I now call home, work, and hobby. The name «Manguz» originated many years ago when Dr. Victor M. Guzmán branded one of his restaurants with this name. That was many moons ago now-back when Dr. Guzmán lived in tiny rural town in the State of Guerrero, Mexico. There, Dr. Guzmán spent my days maintaining his dental practice as an oral surgeon before the entrepreneurial spirit I cannot seem to shake led me onward.
Now, four years later, they have improved their precious patch of earth to house hundreds of food animals, three horses, and two dogs. Dr. Guzmán and family have implemented a flood irrigation system that waters the organically grown pasture that feeds our animals. Dr. Guzmán understands the need for healthy foods and the significance of treating food animals with respect.
