Arbor Tech Services illegally cut a tree on my property.
I find out about a city notice and rectify it same day (though I was given 11 days to do so) trimming it back 3ft from side walk.
Arbor Tech Services owner acting on a report form the property management about a city notice arrives (30 minutes after I trim) to my property and cuts down my 14 year old redwood tree and takes the wood with him.
Arbor Tech Services calls property management while he’s at my property and tells them he will submit bid later he was going to get the job done right now. They told him he wasn’t supposed to cut the tree down. They told me he said «Its too late, its already been done» and he has worked with the code enforcement in the past and knows they would fine the owner $ 500 a day if this was not taken care of so he is helping the owner by removing the tree because the tree couldn’t be trimmed down to 3ft as requested by code enforcement without killing the tree so it had to be removed either way. He said, «Well I won’t charge her if she’s that upset by it.»
Arbor Tech Services doesn’t know that the city always notifies me when the tree is too far into the sidewalk and I always trim it back 3ft.
Arbor Tech Services doesn’t know that the tree always welcomed this 3ft trim and was very healthy and thriving.
Arbor Tech Services does not know that this tree was planted in honor of my daughter’s birth. This was her tree and they cut it down.
I contacted Richard Todd Heinricks owner of Arbor Tech Services and asked him who authorized him to cut down my tree, «He said, «No one I was just trying to help you». He never apologized or offered any restitution. He just said he was doing his job.
On Friday morning April 10^th I received a code enforcement notice via my property management company to trim my redwood tree back from the sidewalk of my rental. Code enforcement, had given me until April 21^st to cut it back, however I decided to get it done that same afternoon. At around 2:00 o-​clock I went over and trimmed it back three feet from the sidewalk as requested, enjoying the smell of the needles and reflecting on the day we planted it in honor of my daughter Chloey on the day she was born. She and the tree were both 14 years old. I thought, «Someday when I’m gone she’ll drive by her tree and know how much she was loved.» I finished the job at 3:04. At 4:07 my tenant called frantically leaving a message saying they cut down my tree!!!
I called the property management company and alerted them as to what happened and they said they would call me back. When they did they told me that they had a company go out to my property and do a bid to cut the tree down (without my permission!). Instead of doing the bid, the company «Arbor Tech Services» cut it down! My family’s beautiful colossal 14 year old redwood tree which meant so much to us and my daughter was gone, 1 hour after I spent all that time trimming it.
The property management company simply said they were sorry but that the company they use called «Arbor Tech Services» made a mistake and instead of doing a bid they cut it down. They told me to call Arbor Tech Services about it. So they gave me their phone number and I spoke to the man named Richard who actually did the cutting.
To clarify; there was no code «violation».
It was just an «enforcement». I was given 11 days to correct the tree overgrowth before it was in violation. I had complied to the enforcement 10 days early and 1 hour before Arbor Tech Services illegally came onto my property and cut it down. When I spoke to Richard I asked him who authorized him to go onto my property and cut my tree down. He said no one authorized him, there was a code enforcement issue so he decided to cut it down himself; without my or anyone’s permission; he was there to help me is all; (nothing to do with the fact that he was to gain financially…). I asked him what he did with my tree and he said he has some pieces of it but the rest went through his chipper.
It is suspicious to me that Arbor tech came right after I rectified the problem and still went ahead and cut my tree down a half hour after I fixed it. Is it possible that they arrived while I was working on the tree and decided to come back in a half hour after I left and cut it down anyway due to the profit they would gain? The property management company told me that Richard the owner of Arbor Tech Services who cut it actually said, «Well I won’t charge her if she’s that upset by it.»
I never even authorized to be charged! It is audacious to say the least.
We are all heartbroken and devastated by this destruction, robbery and invasion that has decimated our property. I have no idea how he left the site because there were no plans drawn up or anything. Is there a stump in the ground? What happened??? Where is the accountability? I am so sickened, weak from anger and sad all at the same time. How can he get away with this?

Ended up having a great experience with Arbor Tech Services. The crew was timely and efficient and the prices were very fair. After the initial service was complete I realized that we were not on the same page with how we wanted a couple of the trees to be pruned. I contacted Richard to let him know and he stood behind his work and sent his crew back to take care of them again. Can’t really ask for more. I would highly recommend them for any tree care services.

The first time we used Arbor Tech we were new homeowners. They had the best quote on trimming our trees: a huge Zelcova, lemon, plum, and an orange tree. They were on time, did great work, left us firewood, & cleaned up. It has been the same great service over the years, rather someone is home or not.
A neighbor wanted us to try her guy, Rodriguez Tree Trimming, this year. His quote was almost 3 times more than the cost of Arbor Tech, just for the Zelcova. She was surprised & we were appalled! We immediately called Arbor tech. The customer service via phone is great: easy scheduling, returned my calls, reminder call of date scheduled for work, and took time to get answers about my tree & how to care for it during this drought.
No need to go anywhere else! My Zelcova’s haircut is great & at an accurate & appropriate price. Thanks, AT!!!

Richard is arborist, not just a guy who will remove trees or just trim regardless of what’s best. He is honest and upfront. And he will listen to your concerns and consider what you want.
We had a huge tree that was either going to be trimmed or removed (we didn’t know what to do). Richard arrived for our appointment and explained what he suggested and why. His expertise helped us make the best decision.
We had a quote emailed to us the same day and made our decision on who to hire. The quote reflected what we discussed and no hidden charges or fees. We had to wait about a week for an appointment. This was no issue for us.
The day of removal the crew showed up with in the time frame given and got to right to work. Richard showed up to make sure all was well and we were actually able to get another tree trimmed. The process was completed in a couple hours and it included stump grinding and surface roots.
Payment was completed over the phone at a later date, quick and easy.
The price was great, job completed and our neighbor asked for the number to get a tree removed also.

For an amazingly affordable rate, ArborTech crowned and cut back out 4 ft struggling fruitless pear and 2 other trees in our backyard. They took away all the branches, and completely cleaned all the leaves and detritus and left our back patio cleaner then it was when they got here.
Prompt, fast, fantastic. I would recommend these guys to anyone who needs tree services.

Hate to be a naysayer, but they do not appear interested in new business.
Due to the high ratings, I was interested in having them work on a number of trees in my yard. I called four times over an entire month (10/​2, 10/​16, 10/​25, ¹¹⁄₅), during business hours.
Nobody ever answered the phone, so I left messages. An online request was sent as well, and nobody attempted to get back to me.
It’s really unfortunate nobody appears to be at home.

Thank you, Richard for coming out to my house on time. I really appreciate all your helpful information concerning my redwood tree and my Chinese hackberry. You were kind, courteous, professional and extremely knowledgable. I will recommend you highly to any one needing tree services.

They earn four stars for the work they did at my house removing two plum trees and grinding MOST of the stumps and surface roots. They lose two stars for the non-​communicative crew that failed to announce themselves coming or going, left some garbage from their lunch on the street in front of my house, for failing to remove all surface roots as outlined in our contract, and for failing to so much as attempt to rectify these issues when brought to their attention.

I have used them twice. Outstanding work at a fair price. I will continue to use them when I need trees trimmed or removed.

Look no further… these professionals are excellent!!! I inherited a property that had an over growth of unruly trees, vines and bushes. One of the major problems was that the root system of one of the trees had invaded the plumbing line and caused issues on the inside of the property. After having four services give me an evaluation of the situation and estimate of the work that varied from $ 400‑1100, Richard was the only one that identified the tree that was the actual problem.
The Arbor team arrived as scheduled and cleared out the unruly and invading trees, removed the overgrowth of vines and bushes, and did all of the work in the most professional manner possible. The team was very easy to work with and thorough in every aspect of clean-​up. They made sure that the debris that went into the street and yard of the neighbor was promptly removed.
You can not go wrong when working with the Arbor team!!! (The word team truly applies here because they’ve all been together for over 8 years)

Just had my backyard palm trees trimmed and I was very satisfied with Arbor Tech Services. They were very prompt and were very good at communicating with me as the weather conditions had to be just right to do the job. I wasn’t home when they were working but came home to a very clean yard and pool. They even worked with my not-​so-​cooperative neighbor to make sure there was no drama.
I will definitely have them back soon for some more tree trimming.

Actually these guys are tree specialists, pruning and removing is what they do very well might I add.
During the last really big storm we had my front yard tree uprooted and split. Luckily for me the half that fell did not hit anything. Unluckily the half left kinda standing was leaning towards the house. If it had fallen it might have taken out a room or two. Lucky for me I found Richard Heinricks, owner & arborist of Arbor Tech. He was great.
He came out promptly to do the estimate and was very knowledgeable, he went over everything they would be doing and why, He was by far the most friendly, professional and pleasant of all the four guys who came to give me estimates. Then to my delight he came in with the best bid. (I called four places and got four bids one was almost 3x the price of his bid, and remember its raining and storming all this week like the other three he could have charged a huge premium seeing the storm and time sensitivity of this as dollar signs, but instead I felt he was fair and honest.)
His crew was here 45 minutes earlier than he estimated, and had the whole thing cleared and down in 3 hours! I thought it would have takes most of the day. They neatly left me rounds for firewood and some of the chipped up stuff like I asked (I wanted to use the chipped stuff to fill in holes in my back yard that my dogs dug) They ground up the stump too. When I commented to Richard how fast they were, he said that this crew had been working together for over five years, and that this was job 2 of 4 for that day, that they were that good and fast. He was right, I had watched and they just worked really fast you could tell they had been doing this awhile.
This could have been a really awful thing for me and my house but thanks to them the only thing I lost was my tree. I highly recommend them for all your tree service needs, tree preservation &service, pruning, crowning, cleaning, planting, removal and stump grinding. (I took that list from their business card, i now carry with me, just in case, never know when someone will need a refferal)
