Cornerstone Appliance Service

We had dishwasher problems. Big time, dishwasher problems. Our dishwasher was leaking water and the water was dripping into our basement. Of course, I thought I would be able to fix it on my own. Ha. Hardly. After a couple days of dripping water and kitchen puddles and my aggravation of not being able to fix it on my own, my husband called Cornerstone.
He called on a Friday afternoon, late and they set up an appointment for Monday morning, bright and early. He (we think it was Bob) arrived on time and was super friendly. He fixed our dishwasher in about 10 minutes (it literally took him less than 15 minutes because HE knew what he was doing). Our final bill was way less expensive than we thought it would be.
Great service and we will definitely be calling him again when something happens in the Money Pit (what I have nicknamed my house)… and believe me, something always breaks here.

Fast service, fair price

Wow — can’t say enough about this company! Really surprised they don’t have more reviews.
My neighborhood has a forum to inquire about service providers. I posted about appliance repair and an acquaintance recommended Cornerstone — she suggested the owner by name. I called and was scheduled with someone who was not the owner — totally understandable. We had 3 appliances to repair — two things that were non-​critical on fridge (ice machine) and oven (second oven not working), and an urgent issue with a totally not working dishwasher (because who can live without a dishwasher!!!).
I called late in the day and was scheduled for a 2 hour window the next day. Love that it is a 2 hour window and not a 4 hour window like most everything else I have ever encountered. A service call I believe is $ 68, but a 3 appliance call is $ 112. Why not have them fix it all at once for that price, right?
Service guy ‘R’ comes and fixes fridge and dishwasher right away, he had the parts on hand. He spends time on the oven and has to order parts. This is Thursday, so we reschedule for Monday. And it’s going to be the same guy — ‘R’ — wonderful since he is familiar with our appliances! Love it!
So he comes out and replaces the parts, but they don’t work. Unfortunate, but seems like GE appliances kind of suck, and they have been thorough and explained that charges would not continue to accrue for diagnostics, and that makes me pretty happy! He wants to send out the owner, but he’s on vacation. So he schedules me with the guy who is #2 in the company. He comes out — and let me say he was well informed about what R had already done as I explained to him what had already transpired. It’s clear these people have great hand-​offs, which is rare in this business! He tests a LOT of things, but seems a little stumped. I’m a little sad, but he explains everything to me and doesn’t talk down to me even though I’m a woman! I talked to him about things like relays and fuses and he didn’t act like a woman would be clueless about such things. He showed me what he had tested, etc… He tells me what he thinks it is, but ultimately wants the owner to come out. He schedules the owner for the next day. I’m happy with that vs replacing the most expensive part in the oven — the control board.
Ok! So now I’m worried that they are going to tell me that it’s the $ 500 board, and considering just getting a new oven as this one is 17 years old. But I am willing to wait for the owner, because who knows best, right? And — at this point, it’s still part of the diagnostic fee. I can’t deny feeling a little bit guilty at this point because they are very likely not going to make any money from this because of the several service visits. But I’ve also been extremely patient and willing to wait for a proper diagnosis and repair. And I honestly hope they appreciate that in a customer.
The owner came out today. Again — he was well informed as to what had already transpired with the other previous techs. This, to me, is extremely impressive and also allows them to move forward quickly and not overlap work. I honestly abhor incompetency and duplicate work, so this was quite pleasing to me (yes, I have high standards!). Within 30 minutes, he diagnosed the problem in the board, but then looked at the board and decided he could just solder the bad/​fried joint vs replace the board ($ 450) or have it fixed/​rebuilt ($ 150 and no oven for a week). He fires up the soldering iron, fixes it. He puts it in and tests it, there was one other issue which was quickly diagnosed with another solder joint. He fixed that, put it all back together and we were good to go. He made sure to put all the parts back together, that it was functional and cosmetically perfect. Again, he was willing to show me the bad parts, didn’t question my knowledge base as a woman, he realized I had some clue how circuits, relays, and shorts work and treated me extremely respectfully in that manner. Very refreshing as a woman! And franky, we need to come to a place in this world where there doesn’t need to be said. But I digress. He refunded me for the replaced parts that didn’t fix the issue. Extraordinarily reasonably priced. I can’t say that enough. Very fair.
I’m afraid to admit with the several service calls, they may not have made any money on me, but their service was clearly impeccable, their prices were beyond fair and I would not only call on them again, but recommend them to anyone I know for being thorough, well priced, honest and fair. Thank you, Cornerstone for making my kitchen completely functional again!!!

I also had a great experience with Cornerstone this morning. I called on Friday and they were able to get me in today before 11 am. My washing machine was not draining properly and with 4 boys in the house, you can imagine how quick I needed service.
Lincoln was prompt, cared for my home by putting on shoe covers and diagnosed the problem right away. He patiently explained the problem, showed me how to get to the drain if I chose to do it myself next time and had it up and running in about 30 min.
The total repair call was $ 98. I was very happy and will call them again if I need a kitchen or laundry machine repaired again.
One thing to note, however, is that their profile shows that they open at 7:30 am, but really don’t until 8:30. Relatively minor issue.

A+++ customer service! My dishwasher wouldn’t run, only beep or make clicking noises, so I started looking for repair places. Researching them on Unilocal,I found Cornerstone Appliance Repair. They came out, checked it out and thought it was the main board. The first one didn’t work, so he spent some time trying all the parts out finding they worked, so a second one was ordered. When that one also didn’t work, he spent some more time looking at other options of what could be wrong. Surprisingly he found that even though there seemed to be power to the dishwasher, the ground wire was not actually connected. He repaired that and another wire, put the old board back in, and it all worked. What impressed me most is after all this time and work that was put in, in the end I was only charged for the time to fix the wires. That’s what I call great customer service & satisfaction. I hope no other appliance breaks & needs repair any time soon, but if it does, I’ll be calling them again.

Awesome service! Fridge went out over the weekend so I put everything on ice to avoid weekend service call rates. Called them and they came the same day. Professional and quick. It needed a defrost thermometer. I also had him replace my water filter. He conveniently had one on the truck. With everything it was $ 164.

Made an appointment w/​cornerstone to replace our ice maker. Cornerstone came, ON TIME – front end of window, replaced the unit, was courteous and answered all our questions in a professional manner. Haven’t experienced that in a long time. Thank you Cornerstone! We will call again!

A first-​rate service experience that was definitely created with the customer in mind. I was happy to be offered a 2-​hour window for my scheduled service call & appreciated even more that the company website has example repairs and pricing available.
Bob, who repaired my broken dryer, was incredibly professional and personable. He worked efficiently and quickly diagnosed the problem and made the repair, but he also took the time to explain exactly what he was doing. This gave me great confidence in the work he was doing and that I was paying a fair price for what I got.
After some terrible experience with repairs from other companies in the past, it was so nice to be dealing with someone who is both competent and honest. I’ll definitely do business with Cornerstone again.
