Xceed Financial Credit Union HQ

Does Exceed and its employees discriminate against gays and lesbians? I am getting a very strong feeling that this is the case.
When I first visited a local branch with my spouse, who is a female and a long standing member of Exceed, the woman who helped us was visibly uncomfortable. She was so uncomfortable, in fact, that she set up my debit card to deduct from the wrong checking account. I had to have another card sent. That is about three weeks from setting up my account and after closing my other bank accounts, that I was without my own debit card. No big deal; everyone makes mistakes.
She also was proudly displaying a Trump sticker on her desk, which I found odd. A professional workplace doesn’t seem like an appropriate place to state political views.
My second encounter was with a customer service representative from the call center. I was attempting to change our notification email settings. My spouse is the primary account holder, but we share the account, and I, being recently retired, have taken on the banking duties.
I answered all the security questions and met all the requirements to be able to discuss my «relationship with Exceed» as they say on the on call menu options. All I wanted to do is keep my spouse from getting a notification at her work email every time I add a payee or use online banking. I just wanted to change all the email notifications to her gmail account. She is still going to receive a notification every time I make a transaction.
The representative, with whom I was dealing, told me the primary account holder had to call personally. I could have just pretended to be my spouse, but that seemed to be such an amateur thing to do that I didn’t think to do so at the time, and I told her this. Her reply was the sarcastic response, «Well, now I know who you are, so it’s too late.»
While my spouse and I aren’t carrying rainbow flags around, we are also not trying to hide our relationship and marital status. I could have easily presented myself as my spouse, with all the appropriate numbers and security questions answered correctly. We set them up together!
It made me wonder, if my spouse had been a man, would this have been the case?

I should not be giving this bank any star at all. They suck, they do not have good customer service. They are all about profit and do not care about their customers at all. Your score is ⁰⁄₁₀. YOU SUCK

I was very sad to see few years ago that might beloved at Safeway credit union had sold out to this institution. But since I did belong to the Safeway federal credit union since 1973, very very long time I stuck it out. The only two times I had to deal with first entertainment was # one a with drawl last year during a weekday, the line was out the door took over a half hour of standing in line maybe even longer. The second time when It came time to buy a new car I sent them an application for a car loan. I ended up using the dealer for my car loan much better rates. I really guess been a member for 42 years doesn’t count for much. Definitely will be closing my account there. I opened up a savings account with my bank branch instead really makes me sad. Safeway federal credit union you will be missed!

My husband and I were looking for a car loan. Our credit used to be excellent when we leased our car couple years back, but unfortunately past couple years things have been rocky, lets just say our credit isnt the greatest. We knew getting a car loan might be challenging with banks so we started looking around the credit unions. It is so darn complicated to join credit unions unless you work for a specific company. So i came across Xceeds FCU, because you are able to join xceeds if you make a onetime donation to a charity they support. We submit the auto loan application online, and we heard back from the loan officer within 48hours, and we closed the deal Within few days. I knew it was very difficult deal but my loan officer Julio did an amazing job ! I seriously thought we werent gonna get this loan. I feel so relieved and happy. Dont be afraid to apply your loan because you dont have a good credit! You never know what xceeds is gonna bring you!

Service has gone way down hill lately. Their VoiceJail phone system cycles endlessly so there is no way to speak to a representative over the telephone. Pressing «0» sends you back to the previous menu. Very frustrating as there is no response to emails either. XFCU has grown too big and now there is no service.

Not sure what is going on here but a few times over the years I have gotten a letter telling me they have been notified from my insurance group that my car is not covered and I had to verify if I indeed have insurance on my car, if not they were going to add it to my auto loan!
When I call customer service they say they have no idea why but that I better verify it. I told them it looks like «fishing» by their vendor and I don’t want their insurance (I’ve had mine for over 10 yrs with no laps).
Sure enough again, as soon as I went to the process of faxing and calling CS again they said it was ok. A week later I get a letter from THEIR VENDOR trying to sell me insurance!!! Seriously this is how they do business!
People the Xerox Credit Union is gone, this new Xceed is not worth the headaches bank somewhere else.

Used to be with Safeway FCU but unfortunately they were taken over by these clowns. Terrible customer service. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Not my main credit union, but it’s a shared branch of the CU I’m a member of. If it wasn’t so conveniently located, I wouldn’t go here.
Lines can get long, and take forever to get through. There’s usually just one person handling walk-​in transactions (which is why the lines get long), and their ATMs are almost always broken every time I’ve come in.

Avoid! Our credit union used to be great, then these owners bought it. Disasters ever since. The latest? I closed my accts., and they told me they had to mail me the balances. So they combined them and snail mailed me a check for over $ 23,000.00, with no tracer of any kind. It got lost (of course), but wouldn’t do anything for TWO weeks. Then I had to get a form from them, sign it, get it notarized (I pay), and snail mail it back. When they get it, they’ll mail me another check. Haven’t got that one yet. So I’m out $ 23,000. +, and I paid to get my own money that they handled with an undeniable amount of neglect, stupidity, and immaturity. Do not trust these guys with your money!
P. S. found out after that I could have gone to a sister credit union for all my money, then closed it. So they are either ignorant or liars besides.

I’ve been a customer of XFCU for almost 30 years, since they were Xerox Federal Credit Union. The last 10 years have been disappointing, and the last couple of years have been absolutely horrible: They’ve taken away all the tools like year end reporting that I used to use to do my taxes. I used to be able to categorize the register directrly (e.g. tag something as rent, food, mort, clothing), but now they’ve outsource it to something called finanace works. I can do al the work my self now to get stuff ready for taxes by downloading it. This is not an improvement. They’ve taken away the ability to add to a CD once a quarter or the one-​time rate upgrade. Finance work is always out of date. It takes about 3 – 5 minutes of clicking «refresh» buttons but even then it is sometimes out of date. If anyone knows of a GOOD credit union let me know. XFCU has gotten rid of most of the products I found beneficial.

Ever since they bought out safeway credit union it has been a nightmare. No customer service at all. Have an issue with them… wait on hold. I’m done banking with them.. Moving to another bank.

I’ve been a customer of XFCU for over 20 years, since they were Xerox Federal Credit Union. The last 10 years have been disappointing, and the last couple of years have been absolutely horrible:
1) The website has been updated multiple times per year, requiring new setup and learning. They move stuff around and you can’t find it — several times a year.
2) They’ve deployed security software that brought down my computer system and required me to reload Windows 7. I tried to contact them, but they are only open during the week until 6pm. Not really convenient if you work…
3) They dropped my husband’s automatic payments without notification, causing him late fees and penaties. He tried to contact them, but it was a Saturday…
4) In October 2013, they updated the online bill payment so that I cannot see the details of my payees. For example, I can’t see the address or account numbers of my payees anymore. When I asked where I could see the terms & conditions of bill payer (who is responsible for a bill paid to the wrong account or wrong address?), I was told those terms & conditions were not available to me as a user online, but I was subject to them in spite of not being able to read them. When I asked why I could not see the details of my payees, I was told it was for security purposes. Since you have to log into my account where all my money can be accessed, I assume this means there is a security issue with the website in general. However, I can’t be sure because Evelyn In Customer Service closed out our email communications as RESOLVED. I tried objecting, but I don’t get a vote. If Evelyn feels it’s resolved, how I feel doesn’t matter. And since they aren’t available after work or in the evenings, there is no way to get more information. So here I am, on Unilocal,because XFCU won’t answer my questions about security.

Unfortunately, Xceed credit union has decided that they’re a bank and should fee their customers…
The new policy of having to pay $ 2 for a statement is complete crap. While I regularly do online banking, the fact is paper statements are still viewed as incontrovertible proof of account status.

I had a really bad experience in this credit Union, the service is just horrible, and «Theresa» is just rude and racist. The only reason that made me go there is because this credit union is partnered with my bank. Every time I wanted to make a payment for my personal loan I go there, and mind you they had no problem doing so. But when the time came for me to withdrew MY MONEY, they asked me for a form of identification which I had no problem providing them with it! Theresa told me that I need to get her a California ID or U.S. passport! Dude I am not a U.S. citizen! I gave her my work permit which is my ID here in this country and my SSN and my passport; she was like NO you need to be a U.S. citizen to withdraw money? WHAT THE HELL! SO you had no problem taking my money, but a big problem for me to withdraw it? How does that work! It was purely racism and discrimination and honestly lake of respect. I basically have a bank account, worked in this country for years; I am renting my apartment, full time employee «$$$ salary», have a car, why would I need to be a U.S. citizen to withdraw my OWN MONEY!!!
I went so angry and asked for the Manger, and they said oh you’ll wait all day long? Speak about customer service! And «Erica» started being sarcastic saying «oh have a great day leaving?» Is this a joke? I honestly don’t recommend this credit union at all!!!

Twice the representative came into my workplace to answer questions about banking with them and getting a car loan. I applied online over a week ago. I received an email confirmation that someone will contact me within 2 business days. After more than 3 business days I called that representative for an answer in regards to my loan app. Its been almost 2 weeks now and still no response. Very unprofessional and Im taking my business elsewhere but just wanted others to know.
Update: Its been 3 weeks now and still no reply from him/​them.

Great place to handle online transactions when u are banking federally. If «federally» is a applicable word! The atmosphere is quiet, and profesional. I usually do not have to wait more than 15 minutes.

I’ve come to this bank a few times and the place is really clean and bright. The parking lot does have an attendant but you don’t pay for parking if you are just using the ATM, be sure to exit out through the attendant entrance/​exit the exit by the ATM, I think, is for employees.
