A client decided to go for permit on a small project right when I was getting ready for my vacation. With only 10 days to get this done and having had over 10 yrs of experience going through plan check, it made me worry. Most small projects they will review over the counter, but you never know since each city has their guidelines. I heard rumors about El Segundo being really picky with their projects so it made me even more worried that I wasn’t going to be able to pull it through before my trip.
I called the building dept. to double check on the requirements and they were pretty helpful. I stopped by the B&S and the entire process took about 15 min! Including clearance from the Fire Dept. I was really surprised with the speedy process. Needless to say the client was very pleased. Three months have passed by and the client has not yet started construction… Sigh.
