Davis and Derosa Physical Therapy

I can not recommend this place strongly enough!
Chris DeRosa, Troy and The entire staff are nothing short of miracle workers.
I had a neck issue for almost two years and was pretty much in constant pain or discomfort. I had two medical procedures at Disc medical center, went to two acupuncturist and a physical therapist in Santa Monica with no relief. A friend of mine told me about this wonderful place in El Segundo that has helped her and many of her friends. I had almost given up hope. I went to Davis & DeRosa and after they worked their magic I was 100% cured!!! It has been a year and a half and I have not had one reoccurring issue with my neck.
The place is lovely. Easy parking great staff that helps with billing and booking appointments.
I wish I had not waited so long to find them.
I highly recommend that if you need Physical Therapy you must go here.

I want to share my remarkable recovery story due to the extraordinary expertise of Dr. Rachael D’Angelo as my PT at the David & Derosa clinic in El Segundo. My surgeon recommended this office and my good fortune was to be assigned to Dr. Rachael. Her knowledge, expert techniques, and compassion for her patients exceeded my expectations. After a full spinal fusion it was with her help and guidance that I was able to return to teaching after only 5 months. All of the personnel at Davis & Derosa are professional yet display care and concern for everyone. I am always greeted by name and with such graciousness; I always feel welcome and appreciated. I highly recommend Davis & Derosa. I feel all of the personnel are highly qualified but I am especially partial to Dr Rachael because she worked miracles on me and I will be forever grateful.

They are the BEST at what they do. I’ve been there off and on for more than 15 years, and they’ve always helped me with my issues. I’ve had two knee replacements, and sciatica problems, and they have always improved my issues. Even after surgery for total knee replacement, they are encouraging to the point that they get this lazy lady to ride the bike for 30 minutes, even on the hill profile! That’s saying more than my words can express!
I used to live in Manhattan Beach, so they were fairly close; even though I live in Long Beach now, I still drove there after my second knee replacement.
There is simply no better place for PT, and God forbid you’re instructed to exercise … they are the place to go since you hardly know you’re exercising since they make it fun!
As for the dog, Jackson, he’s great! I think dogs always make the exercise more fun, and since I started my exercise bike riding with them, and playing tug of war with their first dog, Caffrey, I fell in «love» (not really) with the bike.
So, if you’re looking for kind, contentious, knowledgeable, and effective therapy, this is the place to go! I can’t imagine going to PT any place else!

I had physical therapy twice a week from January to April. The reason I gave one star is because they billed my insurance $ 400 for one session in a week and the other session $ 96. This is what they billed for the duration of my visits. My insurance paid what Davis and DeRosa billed. When I spoke with the billing manager about the overpayment (basically I had a neck massage lasting 30 mins and a heat pack for 10 mins before and after therapy), he said no other insurance company pays the amount billed (as my insurance company does) and they would reduce the amount since my insurance company pays so well. It’s now October and I need to return and have therapy for something else. One contingency to continue services with them was for them not to overcharge my insurance company. I was informed my insurance company is out of network and it’s necessary for me to pay $ 100 (on top of what my insurance company will be billed) for my evaluation, in addition to pay the difference for my insurance company now being out of network. They are simply taking people’s money which isn’t worth the services they provide. As long as they’re able to overcharge my insurance company, they were in network. It’s bad business practice. This is the reason premiums are so high due to businesses like this! Go somewhere else. It’s not worth it in the long run!!! NOTICE: This is the most current review.

Went back to D&D for a tuneup because something was going wacky about 16 months post ACL replacement. Scheduled my appointments with Tami, as I didn’t get much time with her during my initial rehab. Not only did Tami fix me so that I don’t have to go get the knee injections my surgeon said I was headed for if Pt didn’t work, but I actually feel normal when I walk and can go up stairs without the hitch in my giddy-​up that I have apparently been sporting since the surgery. Tami is patient, observant, meticulous and extremely intuitive. She is one of the best physical therapist I’ve come across, which is saying a lot, since I previously had the great pleasure of working with Leo, Garret and Lianne who are all exceptionally talented and helped me greatly. Bottom line is that you cant go wrong at this place, no matter who you are working with. Great new remodeled facility too. Shout out to a great admin staff and really inspiring PT assistants too. Friendly, professional and all so supportive of helping achieve your goals.

I received expert physical therapy at Davis & Derosa from Lianne and Garret for more than a year and I highly recommend it! The physical therapists and their aids are very knowledgeable, kind, and attentive to their clients’ needs. The friendly folks at the front desk led by Alana and Pam are also wonderful. They truly go above and beyond.

Just started doing therapy here based on a friends reference after I messed up my back. Absolutely love the staff. Everyone is soooooo nice, sweet and gentle. Even there 4-​legged staff Jackson! My therapist, Garret is really nice and calming which is what I need. He is really knowledgeable and is able to answer every question when it comes to physical therapy. I Would recommend this place to anyone. The facility is clean and high tech and really caters to your needs. So happy someone told me about here because I would have been so lost after reviewing about many other places. Thank you for all the help!

The firm was recommended when I had post-​epidural recovery. Every session was great, from Chris (a true gentleman) to the assistants. They encouraged me and my lumpy body to get better and provided the tools to do so. A class act and a great experience. They even send me birthday cards. And that dog! What a sweetheart.

Great local PT. Everyone is super friendly. I went there by accident because I used to walk by everyday with my dog. And they have the office dog Jackson. I think he helps people feel better with his presence.

Where are 10 stars when you need them? I love Tammy at Davis and Derosa. She’s worked on just about everyone in my family at one point in time or another. But after my back surgery, I was a regular and I can tell you, she is fantastic. She listens well, asks good questions, and pushes you to work hard, but is attentive to your comfort. She got me through one of the worst times in my life. I feel great now. I would recommend her to anyone who needs PT in a heartbeat. Oh, and the staff are friendly and efficient.

I love this place. I’m a walking klutz so I’m ALWAYS in need of fixing somewhere, and they do! Until I manage to bang up some new body part, that is.
The first time I visited, I walked in with pain dialed to 11. Within an hour, pain was to a more manageable level. These guys are geniuses and they talk to you in normal English, as opposed to unintelligible medical-​ese.
Plus, Jackson will always come over to give you a friendly wag of his tail. Especially if you’re eating one of the cookies that are always there (don’t come here on a diet, because the cookies are yummy!).
Tami is my favorite, but all of the PTs are awesome. And I promise they’ll fix you! They are, undoubtedly, THE BEST at what they do.

I received excellent PT from Davis and DeRosa back in August 2014 for some rotator cuff tendinitis and scapular diskinesia from a snowboarding accident that happened back in February 2014. I couldn’t surf or do much with my left shoulder. I found all the staff to be very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was particularly impressed with Garrett, who was my primary PT. He was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and was very good about explaining the anatomy and science in his assessments and each exercise he had me do. Helps that he teaches anatomy at LMU. :-)
After a little over a month of coming in twice a week and doing assigned exercises at home, my shoulder was back to normal and I was back to my normal activities (surfing, volley ball, etc). Each PT session was fun and professional and involved slightly different exercises and treatment as I progressed.
I would highly recommend Davis and DeRosa for all of your PT needs. I honestly can’t think of anything negative about them.

My doctor gave me a prescription for physical therapy after I had an epidural shot for a problem with my leg.
I had been to physical therapy twice at two other places and had not been impressed with them because I felt that the therapists were just counting how many patients they could see in a day and not really providing individualized care. I had received excellent care from one other physical therapist but he had moved out of the area.
A friend recommended that I try a therapist in El Segundo at Davis and Derosa.
What a difference! I went to Davis and Derosa and the therapist assigned to me was Leo Valenzuela. He was excellent. He listened to everything I had to say regarding my condition each time I came for an appointment and changed the treatment and exercises whenever he needed to do so. He gave me exercises to do at home and updated them whenever he thought a new one would be more beneficial.
The atmosphere was very positive. The place was rather small and I felt that everyone working there was interested in the well-​being of the patients. I would definitely recommend Leo, and Davis and Derosa Therapy to anyone.

I have nothing but warm and fuzzy feelings towards everyone who works here. I was in a car accident several months ago and I was referred to Davis & Derosa by my doctor for my recovery. All the staff is very friendly and I always feel comfortable as soon as I walk in the door.

I really love this place.
I’ve always labeled myself as a walking sports injury, when once again, I had an accident while skating and gave myself a closed fracture of my T11 and T12 as well as injury to my spinal cord. The surgery itself was a nightmare, which included a corpectomy and fusion of my T11 and T12. Physical therapy was a no brainer after an injury like this.
Tammy and Alana at the front desk obtained all the authorization from my insurance before my first visit. They provided me written information of what my co pay is, and at which point I maxed out my out of pocket expenses. All my appointments were printed out for me. Upon my arrival for my first appointment, everyone greeted me warmly, including their office dog Jackson. Jackson is very well trained, and does not jump on people or force himself to be acknowledged.
My therapist, Leo Valenzuela is top notch. Having had physical therapy many times for different injuries, I expected to be pushed to the point where I could not take it any more. That was not the case here. Leo seems to not subscribe to the «no pain no gain» theory. As soon as I mention that anything hurt, he backs off of whatever was causing the pain, or stops to assess what was going on to cause the discomfort. I’ve made a tremendous amount of progress under Leo’s care, proving to me that PT does not have to be painful to be effective.
One of my goals in physical therapy is pain relief, and Leo has been outstanding at assisting me to manage my pain. He has utilized different techniques, from exercises, to massage, ice, heat and electrical stimulation.
Lastly, Davis and DeRosa keeps their shop very, very clean. Pillows are covered with disposable covers and are changed with each patient. All equipment is well maintained.
Overall, I am very pleased with the care and treatment I’ve received at Davis and DeRosa. The atmosphere is professional and friendly, Jackson is a great touch, the staff is very efficient, and the physical therapists are extremely good at what they do. I still have a ways to go in my recovery, but I am very confident I will reach my goals under their care. I would most certainly recommend this place to my friends if they needed PT, and if my own child needed PT, I would not hesitate to bring her here. I hope they stay in business for a long, long time.

I had a substantial knee injury and so I needed a substantial amount of work. Chris, Troy, Garrett, Tami, and everyone else that works here are simply wonderful. Therapy is supposed to be like torture, but I actually looked forward to it with this gang.

Davis & DeRosa is the best place to go if you have injuries and/​or need a competitive edge in any physical activity you want to improve in.

This place is amazing. Everyone is warm and welcoming. It couldn’t be a more comfortable place to have PT and you leave feeling like you’re great friends with everyone there. The therapists themselves are expertly trained and if you’re open with them they can adjust your treatment to best suit your needs.
Garret worked with me for a few months and while I hope to avoid another injury, I feel assured that if I do, I’ll have the best PT place imaginable to go back to.
Also, they have an office golden retreiver. Really well behaved, sweet dog. Perfect for a therapy environment!
