Horrible hotel. Crappy room with dirty carpet, old 27 inch TVs with many channels that don’t work and they charge for parking with a huge outdoor lot. I get that part in a downtown high rise. Huge lot us just gouging the customer. Many better hotels than this one. Front end staff are pretty useless.

I’m currently in the hotel room right now. The one thing we first noticed entering the room is the strong odor. It honestly smells like an ashtray in here despite signs everywhere stating that the hotel is a «non-​smoking facility.» I’m not sure if the previous people smoked in here, but even the smoke detector is covered with a towel (as seen in the pic). Overall the room is clean and simple. I’m just really turned off by the smell.
Perks are shuttle services to the airport and you can park your car here for $ 15 a day while you’re away if you need to.

Great hotel 5 minutes from LAX airport. Free wifi and clean rooms is about a traveler needs to grab some chill time before the next day.
Frank gives a special thumbs up to the shower. Why you ask cause man it’s hot powerful water shooting out of those pipes and a body needs a screaming hot shower. Also not that Starbucks & In & Out Burger are a block away for your food and morning beverage needs.
Outside of that you be the judge of this place cause Frank thinks it’s a perfect place for when you need to be close to LAX.

Let me start by saying William gave my guests and I some of the best customer service we have experienced in the hospitality field! Words cannot express how comfortable and happy he made us during our stay! We drove hours from the Bay Area, and were initially set to stay at the Embassy suites; however, we cancelled our reservations there upon arrival because their staff and customer service were LOUSY! I then called the Marriott on mariposa ave and William answered. He listened attentively to my misfortune and his «can do» attitude made us all feel welcome at the Courtyard Marriott! We were tired and grumpy after that long drive, but the staff changed our whole moods. Kudos to the management and William. Awesome, awesome service.

Well, after using this location for years they now have a $ 12.00 per night parking fee– not listed on their website either. BIG DOWNER. What was once a great hideaway and sooo close to LAX is quickly becoming a lost cause. I can understand paying for parking if it was in a high demand locale like LA or any of the beaches, even the trash heap of hotels just north of LAX but here? Not smart. I will cost this out with other hotels in area next time.

Horrible experience. I would give it 0 stars but I couldn’t. Front desk associate Eric was very rude and unhelpful. We thought booking the room online and having our reservation done will be much easier and a lot smoother but it wasn’t… Definitely not Coming back due to customer service.

Stayed here in Dec 2015:
— Frederick and his staff provided amazing customer service.
— Free parking, and it’s next door to a Farmer Bros (excellent food).
— Had room 201 which had easy, quick access to the stairs/​outside of the building/​parking lot.
— Great breakfast: boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt.

Do not stay here! I booked a room for myself and 3 friends… A room with two queen beds. We arrived and were shown to a room with one king size bed for four people! The horror didn’t end there… This hotel is nicknamed the «scary-​ott» and it lives up to its name.
People knock on the walls at weird hours of the night. Lights flicker and the hotel staff does not seem to be human.

I’m reviewing this strictly based on the parking service I received, not a stay at the hotel. I needed airport parking at a decent price and was relatively close to LAX for Christmas Eve. This place did the trick! I didn’t even have an actual reservation per say, but I did speak with a representative, William, about a week out. He informed me there would be spots available and to mention his name upon arrival. I arrived and was informed by another representative that all spots were full. I mentioned that I had spoken with William. He immediately made recognition of me and offered me parking for any of the spots around the courtyard. From there, it was as simple as hopping on a shuttle (which had arrived earlier than scheduled) and I received immediate service to LAX. Thank you to the fantastic staff and especially William for outstanding customer service and making this experience as painless as possible especially on a night as busy as Christmas Eve! With lots going for as much as $ 20/​day, I was more than happy to pay the $ 10 for the night!

I’ve stayed at Marriott hotels all over the world and sadly this one is just below par. I love the fact that they have free parking but the room look very dated.
Would have given it 4 stars had it not been for the rudeness of the lady checking us in. We were two couples checking into our respective rooms pretty late into the night, and she was just outright rude to my friend. I am not sure if it was because of the fact that we were checking in closer to 12, but there is a way to talk to customers.
I am a gold elite currently and previously been platinum for years and not a single Marriott check in has been this bad. Anyways I’d still stay here because of the convenience.
A shout out to the awesome service I received at the breakfast counter. The dude knows how to treat his customers.

Great Courtyard! The rooms are up to date, nice workout room, pool, and hot tub! The hallways are in need of a make over and Starbucks restaurant in the hotel has one of the worst breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had… Stay away from that place.

My job requires travel and therefore I stay in hotels often. This time, I just needed something close to LAX, where I could get some work done and sleep before heading to the coast. This was by far the nicest «modest» hotel that I’ve in. The staff was incredibly helpful — we discovered a snafu with my reservation when I checked in, but instead of shrugging and saying, «Can’t help you, sorry,» like some people would have, the hotel clerk (Enzo, very nice guy!) patiently and reassuringly sorted it out instead.
The little on-​site café was also unexpectedly good, with excellent service. Seriously, the staff was so nice that I considered switching my reservations and just staying there for the duration. (Alas, slightly too far from where I needed to be.) The pool was lovely and clean, but without that overly chlorinated feel.
Attractive, comfortable and affordable — exceedingly so on all counts.

Five stars for what it is – a convenient hotel for travelers (as opposed to a destination unto itself). A fairly affordable place that’s easily accessible, clean, quiet, comfortable… and I daresay stylish (for a Courtyard-​type hotel).
Lobby was surprisingly sleek… good and efficient service at the front desk… nice little «market» where you could buy your snacks for the night if you so chose.
The rooms were quiet and comfortable. If you’re on a higher floor, you get a nice little balcony.
Nice shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion.
Lots of plugs, which is great if you’re traveling on business or sharing a room with a friend who (like you) has a lot of stuff to plug in.
Room has a fridge… I think ours was almost a freezer because stuff froze in there!
I can’t really think of any negatives.

I must say its a very uncomfortable Marriott property, I have stayed at many as I’m a Platinum Marriott member. The elevators are hiding all the way in the corner. Hallways need major upgrades and the worst was my thermostat in my room which wasn’t working. I had to call housekeeping at 2 am, he was unable to fix the problem. I was stuck in the same room for 4 night because this hotel was sold out. Never again, I will stay at this property. Oh did I mention, no microwave in the room.

I have never had such a uncomfortable experience staying at a hotel like i did at this one.
Me and my wife checked in here just yesterday with my cousin and his girlfriend only to be kicked out forcibly at 2am without warning.
We were shocked at how rude and unprofessional the staff acted and when we pleaded to a middle aged white women dressed in a black jacket who had called the police on us on why we were being evicted her only response was I’m not talking to you youngsters.
Turning 25 mite make me young but its no reason to give a couple of young love birds sharing some late night drinks the boot.
Overall, this place has potential to be fairly decent other than the extremely unprofessional and in many ways somewhat psychotic hotel staff.

Its 2 am and I am still awake because the people in the next room are talking and due to the connecting doorway of my room to the next, I hear every word. Why do hotels have connecting doors anyways? They make sounds in the next door room sound like they are in your room! Like people can’t just get a suite or walk outside their room if they want to stay next to someone they know?
This hotel is clean and looks updated to me. Nice outdoor sitting areas and pool. Deluxe rooms have small balconies with sliding glass doors.
Downsides:
— Connecting doors in rooms make every sound from next room sound like it is in your room. If you do want to watch TV late or have a private conversation, your neighbors can hear it. Its 2:15 a.m. and the noise from the people in the room next door is keeping me up.
— There is no way to turn off the somewhat loud heating/​cooling fan. It goes off and on even if you set the wall thermostat to ‘off’. The fan will still kick off and on intermittently making TV hard to hear and constant volume adjustment.
— Pretty far from Santa Monica/​Venice Beach. About a 30 minute ride.
— No free breakfast.
— Not a huge fan of the yellowish walls with a maroon accent wall featuring what look like yellow wheat stalk design. Colors make me feel like I am at McDonalds and are kind of blah. Not at all classy.
Upsides:
— Only 10 minutes from LAX and Rental Car places. (And no highways on trip to airport which can make things very tough in LA)
— Outdoor pool and indoor jacuzzi open until 11 p.m. Nice outdoor sitting areas in courtyard setting.
— Friendly front desk staff.
— One of the few Category 5 redemptions near the airport for Marriott redemption stays.
I picked this hotel for its proximity to LAX (10 minutes) … I liked the layout better than the nearby Residence Inn so I sacrificed the free breakfast Residence Inn offers for the outdoor sitting areas of The Courtyard. Because of the way the noise comes into my room from the room next door and the heating/​AC fan clicking on and off every 5 minutes with no way to stop it, I would not stay here again.

Very rude front desk personnel! I booked this hotel for some friends traveling from out of the country. I paid for the stay at time of making the reservation. However, when my friends got home, they noticed they were charged for $ 20 extra from the hotel. Wanting to find out why, they called the hotel. Since they did not speak perfect English and the male rep working at the front desk was extremely rude and did not want to talk to them and transferred them to worldwide reservations line knowing they wanted to inquire about a charge. Even the reservation lady was surprised at how rude the guy was. After that I called the hotel myself again and the same male rep answered the phone, I told him I wanted to find out about a $ 20 charge for our stay and before I was even able to spell out the name completely he cut me off, put me on hold and transferred me to reservations!!! I complete a survey from Marriott and reported the issue, after that, their hotel manager Veronica emailed me directly and ask me to contact her if there is any issue. I emailed her last Sunday and it has been almost a week and I never heard a word from her?
I am not sure if this is the kind of hotel service anyone would like to get. Really disappointed!

Great location, free parking, clean rooms, friendly staff– what more could you ask for?
There are several bars and restaurants nearby, from fast food to full service.
Easy access to the 101. All in all, a very nice stay.

I stayed here recently on business travel and was overall very pleased with my visit. This hotel is an older building, but there have definitely been tons of renovations.
The lobby has a very modern feel with the renovations and decorations. There are plenty of places to sit and read the morning newspaper, as well as 3 computers for guests to use, complete with printer.
The rooms looked great. My first room was sort of a suite, with queen bed and sofa. The desk, shelves, and armoire were very nice (looked almost like cherry wood). The sink (separate from enclosed bathroom) and coffee area had nice, new granite counter tops, and below the coffee maker was a refrigerator within the cupboard. Coffee here was delicious by the way!
The bathroom (toilet and shower/​bath) looked to be the only things in the room that weren’t renovated. There wasn’t anything wrong with them, they were just dated. I was impressed to see the hotel offer Paul Mitchell Shampoo and Conditioner.
Only drawback was that both rooms I went into had a strange, fruity-​spray smell to them. I guess in hotels you have to do something to mask the smell of the guests, but I didn’t really like the smell they chose. Although, you do get used to it after a while. Just smells like bad citrus air freshener.
I would stay again, even if there ISN“T FREE BREAKFAST.
