My family eats here almost weekly. Super friendly staff and the food is never disappointing! Our favorites are, EDH roll, ninja roll, sirracha dinner, Folsom lake roll and cherry blossom.

For a strip mall sushi place, it’s alright. The rolls are always 50% off which is why it’s a favorite hang out for the teenagers in the area. The kids in there are always polite so that’s not a problem. I always get the BBQ Tuna. The BBQ tuna has a yummy sauce and it comes with a heap of thinly sliced and lights breaded onion rings. My favorite BBQ tuna is at Mukunis, but this was almost as good. The Redbull roll is a great choice for those of us who don’t like seaweed. I’ll be back. It’s good enough when your hungry and on a budget. The service is polite and quick

First off let me say this sushi place is disgusting. This is some white wash Japanese sushi restaurant… I order Togo for lunch and for my coworkers, and the food was not hot at all… I had pepper fin and the fish doesn’t look fresh! It looks old, gooey and discoloring. My bake mussel was alright as well like I say the food isn’t hot… And I like hot food!!! But my coworker bento box rice taste like permanent marker n the miso soup taste sweet like wtf… Last but not least the garlic edamame is so nasty they don’t make it like how other Japanese restaurant make. They just throw on some powder when your suppose to fry it with this special garlic Japanese sauce!!! Anyways never gonna come back here!!! Wouldn’t be surprised if they go out of business soon!!!

I am PICKY about fresh fish. I worked at a true Japanese authentic traditional sushi place for four years where they were INCRedibly selective. So… I can’t give five stars because there’s been a couple of times that we’ve come when it’s not absolutely perfect(we do visit VERY often though), but NORMALLY the fish at this place is DELICIOUS, FRESH, NOTFISHY, tastes like good sushi should. I almost only order sashimi and sushi here(sashimi has totes been worth it!) and the half off rolls are a KILLER deal. Seriously, totally yummy and not far from where I live. The service is pleasant, the ambience is friendly, the food is amazing! The sushi rice is PERFECT(SOMANYSUSHIPLACESGETTHISWRONG!) The sunomono salads are PERFECT. The rolls are awesome. A terrific deal. They are always very kind when we bring our 3 year old in, a great family place or place for a date. I suggest the 49er roll, Orange Blossom, and the Sashimi mixed appetizer! Bravo for bringing good sushi to the area! I would honestly go here over anywhere else local if I am craving fresh, raw, traditional sushi.

Don’t ever order the shrimp tempura. It was no better than what you would buy in the freezer section of your local grocery. Yuck!

Why oh why do I torture myself w mediocre experience??? Well we just pulled into town after a 6 hour drive from Oregon. We were hungry and tired so didnt want to go anywhere fancy. Kuma is average at best. The location is Ok at town center tucked in the back next to the now defunct Labou. The vibe and the greeting was lackluster. The servers were lackluster and mundane. I guess you can say they were just doing their job but I like to be treated like im special because I AM. EVERYBODY who walks through your restaurant door should be treated as special. We spend our hard earned dollars so you can keep your doors open, support your family, pay your mortgage, etc. The food was marginal but I guess it was just ave for the course. I got the 3 piece bento box dinner. Miso was ave. salad was ave. Beef teri was below ave. Salmon was pathetic. Tempura tasted ok but was oily beyond belief. The place is average. Im not saying it was terrible but I expect so much more and the hell if Im going to settle for average ever again.

Quick and friendly service, great prices and the best sushi rolls I’ve had in a while(and I eat sushi ALL the time). Definitely coming back again! Update: since writing this review 6 months ago I’ve come here once or twice a month and still love it just as much! Never a disappointing visit. I’ve recently discovered the Kevala and it might have replaced the Sakura as my favorite, but anything you get is bound to be delicious!

Eew. Ate sushi here twice. Gave me a horrible stomach ache both times, and it just didn’t taste right going down. Seriously question the freshness of their fish. It bugged me that they have a big framed pic of the skyline of Paris by the bathrooms. Way to be authentic. Skip the nonsense and lousy service here and just go to Sky Sushi… THAT is some of the best you’ll ever have!

I’ve only been here a few times to buy take out sushi/sashimi but it has been consistently excellent. The food has been fresh and the staff friendly. I look forward to eating in sometime soon.

Sushi Kuma El Dorado Town Center has an abundance of places to eat, shop and relax. If you are looking for a decent sushi place right in the Town Center, this one will do. Sushi Kuma is located next to Nugget. Deep Fried Gyoza — These were kind of boring. The sauce added some flavor and a little spice, but not enough. BBQ Albacore — Again, there was a distinct lack of flavor. I prefer my Albacore to be seared, then sliced. This was fully cooked, a bit smoky tasting, and served with fried onions. X-Files Roll — 7⁄10 This had an interesting and fairly balanced flavor. Viagra Roll — 8⁄10 This roll was my favorite of the three we tried today. It was flavorful and a little spicy. Golden Gate Roll — 5⁄10 This roll was a bit boring and the DFS was a little overpowering, but it was made well.

Last night we came here to satisfy our sushi craving and we had a great time. We called ahead to see how long the wait is and they told us they’d hold a table since we were a few minutes away. I’m not sure if they normally do that or take reservations, but it was really nice of them. Walking in, we both commented on how small it is inside. There wasn’t a ton of walking room between the tables, but it was cute inside. The décor is nice, the music is hip, and the customers looked happy with their orders. They have a great 50% off rolls deal and the menu offers a great variety of fish as well as other ingredients. I ordered the Serrano and YummyYummy. My boyfriend ordered Kiss Me and another I can’t recall. Every roll was delicious. My YY was cut rather large to my liking. I really don’t like when they are so wide you can’t take a bite without it falling apart. I managed and enjoyed every last bite. The rolls tasted fresh and had just enough rice. The service was nice and everything arrived in a timely manner. We finished off our meal with miso soup and I thought it had a bit of a sweet aftertaste, which isn’t bad at all, but I’m used to saltier miso soups. My boyfriend commented how he thought it was really good. We agreed we would return for the great deals and delicious rolls.

Tucked away next to Nugget Market in El Dorado Town Center, Sushi Kuma delivers good sushi at a reasonable price(looking at you Mikuni). Modern décor with Top 40 songs playing throughout aim at a younger crowd. I recommend going the rout of sashimi as the rolls aren’t better thank SKY sushi but the fish is good. Here’s what we’ve tried so far: Deep fried Gyoza — 7. well prepared but not overly flavorful. You can tell these are frozen wrappers that are deep fried. The dipping sauce is interesting with a bit of spice added to the soy concoction. BBQ Albacore — 5. Nice crosshatch grill marks, but it’s too bad they didn’t sear before slicing because the tuna is entirely cooked! The sign says special spicy sauce but there’s very little spice to this. Bummer. Comes with a huge pile of fried onions that are salty but good. Too greasy for me to eat too much. X-Files Roll — 7. bland and chewy at the front end(DF shrimp and rice) but spice and flavor starts popping at the tail end. I don’t think DF rolls are great here as they don’t keep the crunch. Golden Gate Roll — 5. bland flavor with emphasis on rice and a mayonaissey tasting sauce. The DF shrimp is a bit chewy probably due to the sauce. I’ll pass next time. Viagra Roll — 8. spicy with sweetness, just how I like it. You can taste the fish so I highly recommend this roll. I still think the rice is too heavy and holds this roll back.

Always have a good time here. I live in San Francisco, and I am always looking for a decent sushi place with exceptional prices like Sushi Kuma. Yeah, I have my restaurants in the city that I am a regular at, but Sushi Kuma has half off EVERYTHING! How can you beat that?! It’s not like they raise the prices and make it half off, they are actually half off good rolls. I have never been disappointed here. One night I came here for sake bombs only, and no food and that was even enjoyable. The waitress was super nice, even though we could have been a bit annoying(getting a little drunk), but she was personable and laughed at all our jokes even though we were probably not funny. We didnt get the sake deal, we just ordered a couple of pitchers and a few large sakes. It was more worth it since there were 5 of us. Even if we ordered food, it would have been worth it too, because the prices are so cheap. I can’t emphasize enough on how I appreciate these prices because it’s not a ghetto sushi joint. It’s nice and clean here and everything is half off.

My bf and I were recommended to try this place out by our cousin who works around here. Atmosphere is really nice and the our waiter was very sweet and kept checking on us. We tried 4 rolls on the 50% off roll menu and the sushi tasted really yummy and fresh. Fish tasted super fresh and the sauces in each of the rolls were really good and not bland or one note at all. The downside is that the rolls are a tad bit on the small side. Compared to other sushi restaurants, they put way less rice in each of the rolls. So typically at other sushi restaurants my bf and I would be full off of 4 rolls but in order to get full we would have to order 5 here. That is the only reason why I gave this place 4 stars because of portion. Other than that we will be back.
