excellent staff and help. they made sure we new what we where getting. this made it such a good exsperience

* I’m a little shocked — no kidding — that there are so many mediocre to «below the floor» ratings for this store.
* This store is in my neighborhood and I’ve been coming here for a little more than 2 – 3 years. I have NEVER had a problem with its service or with any of its personnel. Yeah, most of them are Millennials, but I don’t hold that against them unless I sense apathy, ignorance and shoddy treatment while they are IN MY PRESENCE.
* In the late afternoon of Thursday 22 October 2015, I walked in and was immediately greeted by a tall black dude named Kevin Smalls. I told him I bought an UNLOCKED phone elsewhere (NOT AT&T) and wanted to port it over to my existing AT&T data plan — because the glass on my old phone was shattered and I wanted to junk it.
* We sat down at a table and within five minutes, he took my old phone apart — took out the AT&T SIM card and re-​inserted it into my new phone. Done. He didn’t try to convert me, and he knew by my voice and facial expressions that I didn’t want anything else. I’m that way whenever I walk into ANY store. I’m not into chit-​chat. Yet Kevin was friendly, affable and very polite. I arrived prepared — bringing along my current bill in case he needed to double check my account, etc. before making the switch. Nope, he said, that was it. I could have done this on my own but I did not want to take chances.
* Now — in the past — I have CALLED THIS STORE IN ADVANCE — or into any competing wireless carrier store — because I just think it’s how you should do it — because most of them, especially AT&T and Verizon — are swamped with «walk-​ins» who wait forever for service.
* But this time, I did not call and was prepared to wait indefinitely. The thing is — Kevin greeted me AT THE DOOR and boom, we were at the table. I didn’t buy a thing, I only wanted help. He could have brushed me off when I said this, but no, he was stuck with me and he smiled at my side comments about his store. My attitude is, I have been with AT&T for decades, when it used to be SBC, Cingular, Pacific Bell, Pacific Telephone and then AT&T all over again. I’m set in my ways and I’m not going to switch unless I sense I’m getting screwed.
* I write all this because my experiences were different. I do NOT know NOR am I affiliated NOR am I friends with a single person in this AT&T store. I did not walk in with a suit nor did I look like I’m Mr. Moneybags nor did I show up in slouchy slacker wear. I walked in with purpose and I’m assertive. Yet I’m also AWARE how such stores are filled with people focused on selling and bottom line profitability. At other wireless stores (Verizon in Chula Vista comes to mind, I visited them in December 2014 and it took 90 minutes for my needs to get taken care of) — I typically walk in — and even if they’re «busy,» without making a scene, I ask who’s «free.» If no one is — I make sure EVERYONE is aware that I am patiently waiting.
* So maybe I got lucky. Yet in my view, this Kevin Smalls guy at the Rancho San Diego store gets a gold star. I was so impressed with his demeanor and deference and readiness to offer me options — even though I didn’t need them — that I finally smiled and asked him, «now that you’ve helped me, what can I do for you because you made my visit today so easy?» Mr. Smalls smiled and said no, he was fine. I asked for his card and the name of his boss («Eric») — and I left and turned towards him, saying that I I WOULD remember him.
* Well, Eric (the manager or supervisor), if you’re reading this, know that your guy Kevin crossed paths with the right guy at the right time and the feeling is mutual. Kevin’s behavior reflects the three things necessary for success in the retail world — knowledge, skill and temperament. They are all different — and most only have one or two of these traits — but not all. Kevin is the reason why good referrals occur, and NOT always via sites like Unilocal — but via word-​of-​mouth among actual friends. Kevin is a keeper and in NO way did he solicit this review. He doesn’t even know I am writing this. Keep up the good work!
* Meanwhile, other Unilocalers out there who’ve reported bad experiences, I believe you. I can’t account for why I’ve never had problems here. Yet this is my first review for this store and I couldn’t be more happy writing this. Naturally, if this ever changes, I will report it accordingly. For now, though, the AT&T store in RSD — and Kevin Smalls in particular — both get my five star rating.

I don’t know why people’s don’t like customer service here. I do my business with them for years and everything is fine.

Worst store with customer service. I walked in needing a new remote for my TV. No one came up to help me. After 5 mins of walking around I finally had to interrupt someone and ask if I needed to get a number or something. He said no I’ll write your name on the list up on the wall. 15 mins go by and 1 rep starts to walk around and a person that just walked in goes up to the rep and they start helping that customer. 3 more customers walk in and they walk up to 3 other reps and immediately start getting help. Ok what about us that have our names on the board? Then I see a rep standing by the door (his name is Joe) waiting for people to walk in so I ask him what his function is? Before he could start telling me I interrupted him and asked if he knew how long I had been sitting there waiting and all these people that walked in AFTER me were being helped. I asked him who the supervisor was and he said Arzy (maybe spelled incorrectly). I said this is real crappy customer service and that I was going to write a Unilocal review, he said have a nice day! Time to cancel my ATT Uverse!

My experience was really good. I am not a super good techie type. I brought my phone in to have something figured out. Genard helped me. He fixed my issue and helped me set up my email onto my phone, (which I have had a year and never figured out how to do.) Genard was very patient with me and I know my complete lack of knowledge had to be annoying… but he didn’t show it

A day before going to this store I called AT&T to add a line to my existing account. Everything was set for the new line. All I had to do was pick up a SIM card at the store. The other option was to wait a few days for a new SIM card to arrive in the mail which I opted not to do. I went to this store and was informed by an associate and the manager there that there was no new line added to my existing account and that I needed to set up everything before they can give me a SIM card. Not only did the plan they offered me have less data but the price of the plan they offered me was much more than the price of the plan I agreed to over the phone and it took away my unlimited data plan. Of course I refused their offer and continued to tell them I already agreed to a better plan over the phone. They continued to tell me nothing was done to my account. After going back and forth with them I finally called AT&T myself. I put my phone on speaker while standing in front of them so we can all listen to the call. The AT&T associate on the phone was able to easily see the new line I had set up. The AT&T associates at the store were dumbfounded. This entire ordeal lasted an hour. I remind you all I wanted was to simply pick up a SIM card. I suggested to the manager and the associate that they both learn from this experience in case they have the same issue with other customers but they did not seem interested in my opinion. This was an absolute horrible experience. I can’t help but to think that they knew exactly what they were doing and that this was a part of a strategic elaborate plan that only included their interests and personal compensation.

Worst store ever. Totally incompetent employees that are completely useless. A monkey could do their job better.

Absolutely the worst service ever by the management after we were given the wrong cell phone an iPhone 6 we got a gray instead of a silver they did not want to switch it out they said they needed a restocking fee now why would I pay for a restocking fee if I got handed the wrong phone and opened it at home which I shouldn’t I should have open there right on the spot.

I gotta say, I was shocked at how bad the customer service at this place was. I walked in and asked where the iPhones were and was directed to the corner. After a few minutes of playing with the phone I attempted to get help from an employee. What followed was 15 minutes of me trying to politely get help from an employee. Finally after being ignored repeatedly I walked up to 2 of employees talking to each other. One walked away and the other finally asked if I needed help. I said I was interested in a phone, he then told me that I needed to «be on the list», that I should have been put onto when I entered the store. I was then put on the list, third in line, and then sat waiting another 20 minutes while employees talked with one another, milled about the store, and generally didn’t seem to do much. Finally after about an hour in the store with no help I left because dinner was finally ready. I don’t think they even noticed I had left. And all this time there were probably about 4 customers in the whole place.

Worst company !!! Customer service is horrible they don’t care about their customer s all they care about is making money and that’s it! For being a communication company the have the worst communication between departments. If I can review the call center I would too because they’re all the same. I hope they go out of business one day the world doesn’t need such a dishonest company.

This place sucks. like really bad. the manager is terrible and they seem to really like steamrolling you out of their store as a previous review stated. Just so you know, this was all over a case and a screen protector. haha terrible

Beware, the manager is a total jerk and will snowplow over you if disagree with him.

I wish there is a zero stars so that I can rate this store, I’ve been waiting more than an hour just to fix the error they made yesterday when they activated a new sim card for my phone, but guess what they exchanged it with my old one so my phone is not working anymore, I’m standing here watching employees leaving one after the other, it seems I’m the one who will close the doors today yekhh

The most unethical phone company to date

I am the cheapest phone person on the planet. I have a go-​phone that is 10 cents a minute in the US and 25 cents in Baja. And yes, the go-​phone worked better than my wife’s iphone on a plan with Mexico add on.
My deal was that I wanted to transfer my contacts to a go-​phone smart phone from my old cheapie. The staff (Eugene) was very helpful and personable. The manager is a go to guy, who values good service.
The staff knew that there was no money in this transaction, but that did not affect the energy they devoted to solving my problem. Definitely, will use this location as my phone retailer.

Rude employes with attitudes do not belong in customer service. I’ve been there numerous times and I won’t even ask them questions to avoid getting crappy service totally bi-​polar attitudes. Why do I keep going? I pay at the kiosk and it’s on the way home. They are the exact opposite of mission valley.

This is the first time ever my experience was pleasant with a cell phone company. I was fortunate when I walked in at 9:00 in the morning that Liz was assigned to me. She was helpful, kind, quick and very knowledgeable. I am happy to tell others of the great service I had.

I drive a good distance to come to this store. We’re talking several years of going to this store. It’s the service. If you schedule an appointment AHEAD of time, you won’t have to wait. We’ve seen the same person, over several years, probably 5 times. Consistently quick, explain things in detail, respectful and friendly.
Their overall rating is low. Let me just address that. Buying a phone takes a lot of STATE REQUIRED paperwork, and system updates. Because you were over at Albertsons and gonna buy some Fritos and NOW you want to get the latest phone and don’t want to wait… Your poor planning.
A little work, and your experience will be solid.
In 5 years of going to this store: we have
1) Always walked off with the product we requested.
2) Never been over charged, or billed incorrectly.
3) Left with complete understanding of what we signed up for.
4) Often a better deal than we planned.
It’s good folks, who work hard to get it right and are friendly. You need nothing more.

Horrible. Nicholas from this store sold me a iPhone 5 s in black because they didn’t have the gold one in stock and said I should be able to exchange the product once the gold one is in stock which would take 20 days to come in. I told him what about the 14 days and can I still exchange it since it will take 20
Days to have it come in and he assured me that they will still honor the exchange. Guess what they didn’t honor it. Very upset at his lies and AT&T customer care was worse when I told them the situation. This guy Nicholas needs to be fired and I will blog, write reports on more sites about this specific store as they pulled a bait and switch on me

A few days ago my smart phone met its demise in an unfortunate accident. Let’s just say it decided to take a swim. Well, given this location was right down the street from me, I headed down to see if I could get a replacement.
When I arrived, it was a little busy, so I had to wait for only about 4 minutes before employee came to me service. Knowing my smart phone was kaput, I only brought my SIM hoping the data was still good.
To make a long story short, the employees quickly found out I qualified for an upgrade, I choose a great new smart phone, and my contacts were transferred over from my old SIM to a new one. Then, bingo! I was up and running with a better smart phone with an awesome camera for those Unilocal Pictures!
This location is quite large and had a number of associates on the floor. (
) The service was cordial, respectful, and expedient.
I am glad I can return to my happy Unilocaling.
