History

Established in 1980.

Chermak Construction Inc. has been under the leadership of our President, Howard Chermak, for over thirty years. His philosophy for the company since its inception, has been to provide a full service remodeling company with exceptional employees who thrive in a family atmosphere. The company reflects his commitment to quality and his concern for the needs of the customer. Our many years in the construction business give the confidence that we will be here for a long time as a professional organization. Our professional, yet personal approach to the construction business creates an environment for a successful project. Our office and field staff uphold our «Family Concept». From our newest employee to our President, we are individuals who care about you and your project. While your project will come to a completion, our relationship will continue on. Chermak Construction, Inc. grew out of Howard Chermak’s need to finance his college education while attending Western Washington State University, and later to supplement his teaching income, working for the Minnesota school system as a speech therapist. Howard found that not only was he enjoying the building process, but he was also finding success and satisfaction in it.

In 1974 Howard moved back to Edmonds and entered the construction business full time. He started with a local builder architect as a Master Carpenter/​Project manager involved in all phases of residential and light commercial construction. He soon made the decision to start his own business.

In 1980 he founded CRF Construction as a remodeling and construction company. 1989 was a big year; Howard incorporated, renamed the company Chermak Construction, Inc. & became one of the state’s first Certified Graduate Remodelers.

Today the company thrives with great emphasis on «being a family» that extends into the community.
