Nu-​Tread Tire & Auto Service Center was founded in 1933. For 81 years, we have been a locally owned and operated automotive repair center and tire dealer.

7:30am this morning, I brought my 2011 Nissan Rogue in for a blown out tire. They said my tire had 4⁄32 tread or something like that. I know my car is AWD but there was no way I was buying 4 new tires (which is what you’d typically have to do in this case). They had a used tire with comparable tread and they quoted me $ 65 – 70 for a used tire, mounting, balancing. Okay, I’ve been riding on a donut for a while so… Ok.
I ask them to check my brakes while they’re down there. They tell me brakes look good… not even ½ worn. Coolbeans.
I’m also due for an oil change so I ask the price. He says $ 39.99. And says their house oil is medium quality, semi– synthetic so a bit more expessive. *shrug* I go online for coupons because that’s what I do. I find a deal for a $ 22.95 oil change which is a deal from the $ 29.95 original price. Huh? $ 39.99 isn’t the regular price? Ok… whatevs. just give me the deal!
I ask him if they honor coupons. Guy says yes, ok, we’re in business.
I end up paying something like $ 24 for the oil change. They charge you $ 2 for oil disposal.
My total cost for used tire, mounting and oil change was $ 90.76. Just sticking to facts.
Of course I would have loved to pay less… but let’s just see how she rides. I will update this post as needed.
Dudes were friendly enough. I was the first car serviced which was great.

I have had serval items done at this shop and now almost exclusively use them. So far I have been happy with the price and service. As someone who used to do a lot of my own work (when I had the time and space), everything they have told me has seemed reasonable. They had the best prices on the tires I was looking for.

I’m a terrible car owner – I wait for things to break. I was aggravated but not surprised when my 12 year old car (215k) didn’t pass inspection over the week-​end. The kid told me it was an exhaust leak — effing great. I called Nu-​Tread this morning at 7:30 and by 11 I had my car back, fixed. They fixed the exhaust (manifold, gasket, clamp? the mechanic showed me exactly what the problem was, my eyes tend to glaze over when mechanics start to talk but he showed me where the leak was and what had to be done, replaced, made sense). The battery hasn’t been starting so they replaced that too – it was a crappy battery that I got at autozone a year ago and I know that it needed to be replaced because it’s been starting on a wing and a prayer some of these cold mornings, the engine light has been going on too but, they suspect that it was exhaust related.
Part of the reason why I wait for things to break is that I have been to local mechanics several times and its like these shops are doing me a favor to work on my car or they just can’t be bothered, too busy, part unavailable, someone is bitchy because I parked in the wrong spot, or there is some other type of mean shop customer service malfunction.
I am very happy to have found Nu-​Tread. The exhaust repair and a new battery came to $ 380 and it was hassle-​free. I read the other reviews and I do know enough about car parts to say that quality parts do cost more and some of the parts that you get at autozone are like home depot materials, you are empowered to do the work yourself but, the parts are cheap and can’t be compared. There is cost for the shop and another cost for the customer – that seems reasonable to me.
I highly recommend Nu-​Tread. Fair, pleasant, fast and professional.

Just got back form my first visit there and found everyone helpful and very nice. They showed me what needed fixing and the prices and I wasvery satisfied. Definitley will use them again.
