History

Established in 1993.

Luxury accommodations in the Spirit of the Old West. The Rochester Hotel was originally built in 1892 and was completely renovated in 1994 by Kirk Komick and Diane Wildfang. Located in historic Downtown Durango, Colorado, the Rochester is within walking distance to historic Main Avenue shops, restaurants and activities.

The hotel has been themed after the Western movies filmed in the Durango area and includes movie posters and lobby cards from the 15 most popular westerns including Around the World in 80 Days, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, National Lampoon’s Vacation, City Slickers, and John Wayne and the Cowboys.

Business Owner

Kirk is the innkeeper at the Leland House and Rochester Hotel in Downtown Durango. Kirk and his mother Diane began the transformation of Second Avenue with the renovation of several buildings on Second Avenue in the early 90’s and have been operating the Leland House for 20 years.
