History

Established in 1933.

Alliant Credit Union was formed in 1933 by seven employees of the local utility company in Dubuque, Iowa. It was created with the hopes of helping fellow co-​workers with their finances during the Depression. The employees elected a treasurer; that treasurer accepted deposits in his desk drawer before work hours and during breaks and lunches. That was until 1958 when eventually the Credit Union grew so much that a part-​time employee had to be hired. Since then, your Credit Union has continued to grow into the full-​service financial institution it is today! For over 80 years, we’ve remained safe and secure.
