Established in 2006.

With Jabar McKellar’s previous 14 years in electrical engineering, he obtained his General Contracting and Low Voltage licenses in 2006. The company began known as Envision Construction. Within one year he integrated his system engineering experience with low voltage and began designing home automated systems. Jabar engineered solutions to create energy efficiency through home automation. His first home system was recognized in Electronic House Magazine for its stellar integration with solar. Multiplying their gross revenue 7 times the following year and increasingly the sequential, the company branched off into commercial and public works. In 2010, Envision Construction became known as SmartHome IQ, a more fitting name.
