I arrived at around 5:00pm to get a car inspection and they did it so fast! Super nice folks here. Since I live in the neighborhood now, I’ll bring my car here for service!

What a honest automotive repair group! They spent hours diagnosing the issue with my car and on the phone with the warranty company and the dealer, to find that I could not get the repairs covered if it was done at their shop. They did not charge me for their time or work completed, and provided me their diagnostic report to give to the dealer who would be doing the work! Such a rare thing to find such an honest business in auto repair.

I had my oil changed here the other day. It was fast and very reasonable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely use them again, and highly recommend them!

It’s a bit of a drive but totally worth it because the service is top notch, all of the employees are knowledgeable & friendly, plus the location is peaceful and serene.

I visited a networking group over a year ago and heard all these wonderful testimonials about ProTech, then one of my personal friends also told me a few months later that she has always taken her cars to ProTech, so when I needed some work done, I figured a half dozen unsolicited testimonials meant something. The true test was when I took my 2004 4-​Runner in and got an estimate with the option to rebuild a drive shaft if possible before replacing it with a new part. I called my Dad who has been a mechanic longer than Evan and I have both been alive, and when I told my Dad the estimate and what the shop would try to do first to save me money, Dad said this was a good shop and they were trustworthy. No matter where I live in Central TX, I’ll always go to ProTech from now on.
If my Dad gives his seal of approval, that’s good enough for me and it should be good enough for anyone else’s daughter.

I have been to Protect twice. Both times they have be professional, trustworthy and honest. I feel safe driving my car. They also do tires.

Evan, Zach, Brett, Blake and the team are top-​notch. My car’s engine catastrophically died, and these guys rebuilt it from the ground up. Runs like a dream now. Honest prices on parts and labor. Recommended 100%.

ProTech Automotive works on our fleet vehicles and they stand behind their repairs. They fixed one of our cars with a known manufacturer defect in the fuel pump motor. Due to the poor design of the part and newness of the vehicle initially there was no after market part available for installation. When the OEM part failed again, the dealership had in stock an after market part which ProTech secured and installed at no additional charge to get the car repaired. We were within the warranty ProTech has and they took care of us quickly. Thanks ProTech for standing behind your parts and labor.

These guys are awesome! They always give a fair price and really know their stuff! I go to them for everything and send everyone I can to them. They did a ton of great work on my Mom’s older Chevy when she came to visit and although she lives in Amarillo — she got a warranty with it to go with her back home. (And she hasn’t needed it!!) A family owned business you can trust!

These guys are great. Very honest and service done with integrity. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for courteous and reliable service.

Absolute Worst auto repair shop experience of our lives. My wife was given her Grandmothers 84 Cadillac after she passed away last year. The car had 44,000 original miles and ran beautifully for an older vehicle for the first few months we had it. There was a few minor issues with the brakes and the battery/​alternator so I looked locally and found Protech auto and decided to give them a try. Once the vehicle was there I was contacted by Evan (owner) who informed me that there was a few mechanical issues that he felt needed to be addressed. I told him that I wanted the car to be reliable and safe for my wife to drive when she wanted to use it. He told me some things that he could do to help fix it up and make it safer to use and more reliable. I agreed on some repairs and he began the work. I got a call from him a few weeks later stating that the AC module had gone out (The AC worked perfectly when it was brought in) and that there was a part that would fix the AC but would take some time to find being that the vehicle was older and parts were scarce. I told him I was trusting him with vehicle and that I definitely wanted the AC to work being that we live in Texas. I did not hear from him for 6 months and when finally contacted I was told that the part had been found and that he had installed it. Also At that time he told me of some other issues that the car had including the trunk latch and a tail light switch both which worked perfectly when the car was dropped off and that if I wanted it to be safe to drive that I should get them repaired. I agreed and authorized the repairs. We talked a few times over the next couple months and I paid him $ 2500 for all the repairs that were supposed to be done. When I called almost a year after the car had been there to see about picking it up. I was informed by his mechanic Ryan that he had taken the car on final test drive and that in his exact words «The car doesn’t run as well as when you originally brought it in to us». At that point I realized something was wrong and had a talk with Evan about why the cars performance had gone down instead of up after spending 2500 to just fix up a few things that had needed to be repaired. He informed me that it must be bad gas after having sat there for so long and that I needed to pay for a gas system flush and that should solve the problem. After spending another $ 1000 for the final repairs I called to come pick the vehicle up. He said the cars battery was dead (again) and that it would take a couple hours to charge. Right before I came to pick up the car i received a call from him stating that the car was barely running and I might want to consider more repairs including a new Catalytic converter which he said «might» be the problem as to why the car wasnt running well. At this point I was very skeptical and wasnt going to allow him to do anything further being that I had already spent $ 3500 and the car was in much worse shape than when I brought it to him. Luckily I only lived a few miles away because the car barely ran at all and had to drive 45mph with my hazards on just to make it home. This guy is a crook and basically took complete advantage of me and my wife knowing that all I wanted was for the vehicle to at least run as well as it did when I brought it in. I paid Protech $ 3500 to RUIN my car. It can barely even be driven, has NO power, NO AC, It has electrical problems with lights going on and off. The car rides MUCH, MUCH worse than when it was brought in. Not to mention that it took over a year to get the car back, I cannot express how disappointed I am about the work that was done and how unprofessionally I was treated. If you want your car fixed right or don’t want it broken then I would never take it to ProTech Automotive. They are scammers of the highest order and I can’t believe how they ruined our car and charged us $ 3500 to do it. STAY AWAY!!!

Disappointment doesn’t begin to express my feelings after trusting Evan and Ryan to provide me with fair and competent repair on my truck. Both times that I took in for repairs the misdiagnosis resulted in repair costing twice as much and took twice as long as quoted. The last time after two weeks in their shop finally had to take vehicle to another shop and pay again to have what they claimed to have replaced at cost of $ 1200.00 repaired at additional cost of $ 775.00. They refused to reimburse me for the additional costs because I refused to use their approved shops for evaluation which would have resulted in more out of pocket expenses and lost time from work. As it was lost 2 weeks of vacation time waiting for repairs which I sure could use now that have suffered broken foot and unable to work. Now must waste more time and money pursuing matter in small claims court. What bothered me the most was the violation of the trust I put in them so if you are looking for honest repairs go somewhere else.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. They are as honest as you get and charge a fair price and do excellent work. Highly recommended.

Protech is the best. Ryan and Evan know their automobiles. I live in Austin and take my car all they way out to dripping springs for their service. If you live in DS and need to get work on your car, use these guys.

They will do your repair well and do it for less! Oil changes for $ 25.
