Best taproom in Denver. The beer is amazing and delicately crafted. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. Overall, great atmosphere!

This is a great local brewery with rotating taps and an excellent selection of food trucks coming through. Located near DU, the atmosphere is decidedly young and trendy.
What I Liked:
* Beer selection: excellent selection of different brews from American style standards (IPA’s, pale ales), interesting Belgians (Belgian Pils, Belgian IPA, Singel, Doubel), excellent dark beers (Stouts, Porters), and specialty brews (American strong ales, Dark IPA)
* The machnination ale. This big (10% abv!) beer is surprisingly well balanced and beautifully hopped.
* Black IPA: another excellent beer. Well hopped, reasonably malty, with plenty of alcohol (7%)
* Dog friendly. We love bringing our dog here and seeing a lively bunch of regulars who do the same.
* Food truck selection: this place has a nice selection of rotating food trucks. Seriously, these have been some of the best street food we’ve tried in Denver.
* Atmosphere: This place has a nice rustic /​industrial vibe. The brewery is in an old brick building with clear views into some of the brewing operation. There’s plenty of seating which is also nice.
* Glassware giveaways for beer debuts are Awesome!
What I Disliked:
* They’ve always ran out of their Doubel every time I’ve been there. Brew more guys! I’m dying to try it…
* Expensive growler prices: As high as $ 50 for some beers. Typically $ 25 for anything I’d want to try.
* Limited parking
Summary: Come here for some of the best beers brewed in Denver. Enjoy some nice local food from the food trucks that come through and be sure to bring your dog!

One of my favorite Belgian breweries. They allow dogs which is a huge plus. Their tasting room isn’t huge but there’s a good number of high tops to sit at.
All of their beers are full of flavor. They focus on Belgian styles and do them extremely well. My favorites so far are the Quad and the Belgian Black. They tend to rotate through different styles fairly often, so there’s a good chance they won’t have the same beer again. They usually have a food truck for when I get hungry, and board games if you’re looking for something to pass the time as you drink a cold beer.

Big fan of their new Black IPA, called Backlit. We’re appropriately trying the new batch on Black Friday, and it is delicious.

My two non-​yelper friends suggested I review Fermaentea after our trivia experience last week.
We have searched high and low in Denver to find a good Wednesday night trivia — preferably Geeks Who Drink format since we’re really good at the obscure round 2 music questions and we like to joker early so it feels like we’re winning — but I digress. Unless you carry around an ear trumpet and have a high tolerance for loud and smelly college kids, this probably won’t be your favorite trivia venue. We heard maybe half of the questions and basically gave up by the sixth round.
I am one of those losers who doesn’t drink in January for no particularly good reason, but my cronies said the farmhouse ale was killer and the other beers were «meh.»

OMG! These beers were amazingly mind blowing. It’s my first visit (Dec. 20) and not my last time. Serpentes — I loved it and I don’t normally like Farmhouse Ales! Systemic was a beautifully done IPA. Machination was off the charts Strong Ale, which are hard to balance… over and again… I can name the 8 beers I tried and the grades would be 4+points.

Came here on a Thursday night with a group of 6. It was open seating and it wasn’t too packed so we were able to find a table.
I had the large blonde ipa which was exactly what I wanted. Came in a tulip glass and was a nice smooth refreshing light ipa
There’s no food in the brewery but there was the NOLA food truck outside.

Two beers tried, as a dark beer enjoyer — the stout & the porter. Both delicious, although the porter stole my heart.
The atmosphere is nice and casual with all of the brewing fixtures located right behind the bar for your viewing pleasure! Friendly and quick service, garage doors that open on nice days to let air flow through — this is a great little gem located right down the street from DU.

It’s hard not to notice this place on a nice summer night. After passing by it several times, I finally had a chance to experience it! The place itself had a very modern and urban feel to it from the exposed brick to their selection of music. It was very inviting, I loved the open air with the two open garage doors, and really felt the energy. It’s almost as if you’re being sucked in and you’re open with not leaving. That’s how I felt, anyway.
Onto the beers, I was impressed with what I tried. I thought the Fresh Farm ale was really good and my favorite. Although the IPA was one of their more popular ones, it didn’t quite wow me. I will say I am excited to see what other brews they have coming down the pipe and just looking forward to hanging out here again!

In honor of the start of Beer Week, I will be ingesting I little more beer than usual. I am not going to lie, I am excited as a kid on Christmas, about going to The Great American Beer fest, next Sat. To culminate this week of heady craft beer we decided to have a pint at a new brewery after the gym. Fermentra was a straight shot down the road.
This is a nice clean, and minimalist brewery, with a large inviting bar. We drank the fresh hop, double IPA, and imperial stout. The fresh hop and imperial stout were standouts. We also tasted the oatmeal stout, and the quad, both were tasty. The quad was a little sweet for me, but it might not be for your palette.

Back again! The beer once again fantastic, really well done Russian imperial stout. The music was much better this visit, good hip hop that works well with the art! And the service was legitimately 5 stars this time. Now officially a fan.

Vibe
It’s located on Evans Ave near the University of Denver. Despite this, there is a large diversity in the clientele. It’s a very chill place: local artwork hanging on the wall, alternative and indie rock is playing at pleasant volume levels. Dog friendly, too. Plenty of seats at the bar and facing the street, with plenty of smaller tables (seating 4) and much larger tables available. Oh, and in the corner there’s a good selection of board games! Can’t go wrong with beer and board games with your friends.
Quality
Pretty much every beer I’ve tried here has been very good, and handful of them are certainly outstanding. Some of my favorites include the Systemic, a Mosaic IPA with juicy, citrusy hops and refreshing grapefruit character and the Brabble, a robust porter boasting a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and strong, roasty, dark chocolate flavor.
Service
Every bartender I’ve spoken with and asked questions to has been very friendly and helpful. Don’t be afraid to ask for their opinion because they will gladly help you out!
Selection
Every day of the week there is always a huge selection (10 – 12) of their fresh beers on tap, ranging from Belgian dubbels, to double IPAs, imperial stouts, and everything in between. Almost every style is represented. All of them are also available in either two or three sizes ($ 2 taster, $ 3 – 4 small, $ 6 – 7 full), encouraging you to try more. Taster flights (your choice of six for $ 12) are also available. Despite the huge offering, the quality of each beer is still apparent. The selection rotates too, so every week you’ll likely see something new on the menu, depending on what they’ve freshly brewed. The current selection is updated daily on their website, so that’s very helpful.
Food
They do not serve food, but there is usually a food truck outside and the food truck schedule is updated daily on their website. You are also welcome to bring in any of your own food from elsewhere to eat with your beer. Awesome!
Definitely keep an eye out for this up and coming brewery!

We both LOVED the Systemic! My bf who prefers stouts really enjoyed the Meristem, so I let him drink most of it. I am a bigger fan of Belgians, and so I enjoyed many of the Belgians in the flight but I was a bit let down by the Quixotic because I thought the mouthfeel was a bit thin, and too much alcohol taste (note: I am comparing it to the La Trappe Quad). The Machination had the highest IBU, and it tasted the most bitter out of all of them, but didn’t taste like a 100+ IBU (shrug). It sorta seems the order was to drink from lowest IBU/​ABV to highest. My bf also really liked their drinking glasses and is seriously still considering buying one too. We passed some time between drinks by playing some Connect Four because they have a pile of games for clients to play with.
They don’t serve food, but different food trucks park right outside for you to get some to go with your drinks. You are also allowed for you to bring your own food.
I would suggest getting there not too late like after 7:30pm as the place gets packed really quickly as people like to hang out there for a longish time. Dog friendly place too. Clean restrooms.

They have some really good beer here. On the Saturday when I went, the place was pretty busy. I sat at the bar with my buddy. I had a flight, and he ordered a pint of one of his favorites. I particularly enjoyed the unique ale/​lager hybrid. I asked the bartender about it, and he explained a bit of the process without going into any real deteail. It involves using both kinds of yeast and fermenting at different temperatures over time.
There was music playing, and it was quite loud inside Fermaentra. I was able to converse with my buddy, but I had trouble communicating with the bartender because of the noise level. Some folks enjoy that type of atmosphere, and I’m sure it fits with the neighborhood where they’re located, but I must be getting curmudgeonly in my old age because the noise made the overall experience less enjoyable for me.
Still, this brewery is worth a visit, and I could see myself going there to drink some really excellent beer. If you’re out and about visiting craft breweries in the Denver metro area, it’s worth taking a trip down Evans to check out Fermaentra.

Fermaentra has a solid line up of craft beer. I live in Wash Park and this has become our go to place for going out to a brewery when we don’t want to go very far. They have a nice array of beer that should be able to satisfy the light beer drinkers to the faint of heart beer geeks, such as myself.
The Prisma is a west coast style pale ale and it is true to its name. Very fruity and citrus hop flavor. Their Hyperbole IPA is fantastic and finally their Russian Imperial Stout is a great beer to cap the night off.
The vibe of the tap room is great and is a great place for my wife and I to bring our 1-​year-​old daughter when we need to get out. We always seem to be in good company of other families with their kids ranging from new born to teenagers.

This place is AWESOME. I was in the area to meet my mom at Snarfs and walked past this little beauty. It was very open and exposed in the perfect weather. I got a good look as to what’s inside and decided we had to circle back here.
So glad we did because their beers are impressive. I was boring and went with the lightest blond beer. It was still extremely flavorful. Carbonation is on point. They clearly have a very good system.
Lots of darks to try here, many with chocolatey undertones. My boyfriend loved his IPA. I don’t like IPA’s anywhere and this one was no different, although they didn’t overload the hops like so many places tend to do.
Prices standard, expect to pay $ 6 for a beer.
Refreshing and classy new place to add to the university neighborhood. Will probably stop in again when I am over here next.

I had been looking for a local brewery to open up around DU ever since Renegade closed down and this is a perfect replacement. They have a lot of options for various kinds of beers and offer flights so you can sample them all.
The atmosphere is very much like a brewery. They have 2 large garage doors in front with bar stools facing the street. Once it is Spring, I’m sure these will fill up fast. I stopped in on a Thursday night and they had a food truck outside bringing food to the tables. Good mix of people.
If you are around DU, make sure to stop in and sample some of the flavors.

New breweries are popping up in Denver like facial hair in November. Pretty much all of them are a welcome event. Some are very good. And a select few, seem to really nail their opening. I believe Fermaentra falls firmly into this last category. We came by on Friday afternoon and the place was already fairly busy. By the time I left it was mostly full. With the brewery being so close to DU (directly across the street from my beloved Kaladi Brothers Coffee no less!), I expected it to be largely a collegiate crowd. Instead, the demographic cross section was pretty Denver brewery standard (if there is such a thing).
The space here is a basically a large hollow brick cube. The furnishings are solid, and the obligatory garage door windows line the front. The staff (and there were plenty of them working this day) were friendly and helpful. I had a chance to chat with owner/​brewmaster Brennan (half of the team that opened FERMÆNTRA). He was a really nice guy who seems to have a solid grasp of his craft.
I tried all eight beers. There was not a bad one in the bunch. Indeed they were all quite good. If I had to pick a favorite, by a narrow margin, it would be the Belgian blonde. But, you really cannot go wrong with what they’re pouring here.
P. S. I met the other half of the business, Spencer, the next day. He was also a hell of a nice guy.

Great new brewery. A wide open space. Solid lighting. Beautiful interiors with exposed ductwork and brick. No food but food trucks await tor business out front.
The beer. It’s delightful! The Aphion double IPA is bursting with flavors; it’s citrus forward but a nice hop/​bitter balance at 100+ IBU. The Meristen Russian Imperial Stout is rich and complex. It’s a big beer at 9.2% ABV — perfect for winter.
A well-​rounded beer selection coupled with a great space makes it solid & worth checking out.
