Daytona Beach Regency

Not only was it spring break week but it also was he bass competition… We had a beach side room and absolutely enjoyed, staff was amazing (minus drilling you to buy time share) but accommodating with all the nose. Wasn’t busy and we were able to use all amenities offered. Recommend to everyone! Tiki lounge had amazing food and all!

We were in town only for one night. The Regency was wonderful. The staff greeted us and was super friendly. The manager went out of his way to visit with the teenagers in our group. Our room was like a condo and was awesome with all the comforts you could ask for. It was clean and everything worked perfect. It’s in a perfect location to the beach and everything else you could want. Parking was easy too.

Great rooms. Large and very clean. More like a condo or time share. The gym is sparsely equipped with no free weights. This would be a smart investment for the management. LOOK OUT FOR THE ADDITIONAL $ 10 PER PERSON GUEST FEE. The rooms were a great value during a race weekend. But for $ 1000 they could have bought a set of free weights to make this a real gym Nice Tiki Bar out by the pool. Friendly attentive staff. They will try to sell you a time share in the lobby.

This place absolutely rocks for the price. Definitely get the one bedroom suite (huge, with kitchen) and not the studio room (small). I would stay here again in a heartbeat, so the following points are mostly niggles:
1. AVOID THE CONCIERGE desk at all costs. You will receive a coupon for a «free gift» but instead of the front desk just giving it to you, you must visit the concierge desk. In a word: DON’T. This hotel is actually a time share and the «concierge» is primarily employed to rope you in (although they do have discount coupons for area restaurants and attractions, but those are available at kiosks throughout the city). Oh! Unplug the telephone in your room. At check-​out when I plugged the phone back in, I had SIX voice mails from the «concierge» suggesting I stop by for my «free gift.» From the time stamps, these calls came at a rate of one or two a day, often early in the morning when I would have been sleeping.
2. HOPE YOU LIKE CLASSIC HARD ROCK: This hotel has a nice patio with plenty of chairs (and a no reserving chair policy which all hotels should have) as well as a pool and Tiki Bar right in front of the ocean. But if you want to read, nap, or listen to the ocean, you will be out of luck. They pipe in pretty loud classic hard rock, such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Rush. There are speakers everywhere, so there is no finding a quiet place. It’s really unfortunate, although the upside is that it is a music service so at least there are no commercials.
3. TOO FEW ELEVATORS AND NO STAIRS: There are only two elevators, which mean pretty long waits. Unfortunately, there are no stairs that you can use since the ground level will sound an alarm if you exit. This means that even if you are on the second floor, you have to wait for the elevator, which is not only silly, but slows the people on the upper floors.
4. SECOND CLASS CITIZEN: This is a time share and so the «members» will get the best room locations. I have no problem with that since that is the hotel’s primary function. The building is a rectangle, with the short side facing the ocean. If you do not have an ocean front room and have a choice, get a room on the north side of the building (x07 and above). Currently there is no building to the north and so all rooms have really great views of the ocean. All rooms on the south side of the building face a narrow alley and a huge building (24 floors) next door. This alley services both buildings so there are constant trucks coming and going all day long (beep beep beep backing up!) and the trash gets emptied noisily at about 6:45 a.m. If you do end up on the south side (and you probably will if you are not a time share member), the better rooms have higher numbers (e.g. x06 is better than x05) as they have a better view down the alley to the ocean because they are closer. Also, higher floors are better to avoid the constant alley noise.
5. INCONSISTENT WIFI: The WiFi is pretty weak inside the hotel and, apparently due to a configuration problem, non-​existent at the pool/​patio/​Tiki Bar. In those locations there is a good WiFi signal, but no Internet connection due to the router not providing an IP address. Seems like this could be fixed.
Again, this is all in the spirit of «know before you go.» I am accustom to first class properties so when I say this is an excellent value, it really is. Again, when I return to Daytona Beach, I would stay here again due to the low price and high value.

I’ve stayed at this place three times and for the most part have been satisfied.
The rooms are big and roomy and have just about everything you would need for your vacation. You get a nice sized living room with a flat screen, rooms come with multiple balconies, a full kitchen with dishwasher, very large bathroom with a tub big enough for anyone to soak in, and a bedroom with an extremely comfy bed. The room’s are clean and they hit all the check marks you would expect. They also provide complimentary beach towels which is nice. You don’t have to worry about dragging your own towels down to the beach and getting them covered in sand. I wish room service would come more frequently. Our last trip you could only get room service if you booked a stay over X amount of days (forgot how long, but we were over it) and then only a couple of days a week.
I like the location. It is basically right next to where the boardwalk starts. It takes about a 10 second walk on the beach to access the boardwalk where you will find shops, food, and entertainment (fee concerts during the summer). Being off the boardwalk you get access to all of that without having to deal with any of the foot traffic through you pool area or tiki bar (which is private for the hotel, try their pizza, it is homemade and really tasty). If you are looking to eat out I would highly suggest you WALK to the Oyster Pub which has really great food (don’t forget your discount cards which you can find in pretty much any hotel lobby in Daytona.)
The hotel has a pool and hot tub (one indoor and one out), game room, exercise room, tiki bar over looking the beach, and a nice slide for the outdoor pool. They also provide private and secure parking under the facility which is nice considering this property pushes up against the boardwalk where people are more likely to inebriated. The slide is a big selling feature for the property and unfortunately my last time staying here the slide was out of order for half of my week and a half stay. It was frustrating as they absolutely didn’t offer us a heads up that it was out, they didn’t offer a discount on the stay, and they refused to give us an ETA on when it would be functioning again. A little bit of communication would have gone a long way here. My 2^nd stay here they had major issues with their elevator and we spent most of our trip using the stairs. We were on floor 2 so it wasn’t a big deal to us.
They really push timeshares. They will ask you daily to attend a session and will call you daily on your room phone as well. In my three trips I have yet to attend one.
My last trip to this place I found that they had added an activity that I found extremely annoying. Gone was music night and movie night and they were replaced with an almost daily «bar bingo.» The worst part about this activity is that it takes one of the properties biggest assets (its tiki bar and home made food) and packs it full of every adult staying in the property for 45 minutes at a time with every seat in the bar full and many more people standing in the tiki hut with a bingo board while the bar tender was calling out numbers. That means that during these times it is impossible to get a drink or food. I found that they generally were running about two games a day one at around 2 and one at around 5. I was not a fan of this activity at all. If you are more interested in getting drunk and winning free drinks maybe you would like this… but IMO this is a family place. This activity seems out of place to me.
The other big negative with this property is that you are unable to request a specific room. Each floor has a long room that is big, has two balconies, and is actually really nice… but it has basically no ocean view at all. It also suffers from an insane amount of road noise with everything from the trash truck from the Oceanwalk to motorcycles screaming down A1A waking you at night. After receiving this room that runs the length of the property along Atlantic Ave. TWICE in my first two stays I thought that I would be able to request any room but that one for my third trip; I had a single simple request, «anything but the room with two balconies that runs the length of building on A1A please.» At check in I was told that my room would be ready in two hours (I was early) and that I could not request a room. I was given that room AGAIN on my third trip. Like I said, it is a nice room… but good luck falling asleep before 4 AM when the streets empty. You also will be spending zero time on your two balconies. One overlooks the dumpters of the Oceanwalk next door and the other A1A.
I wish I had experience with another room here. Overall the property is extremely nice, but we won’t be going back. The road noise from our room was too loud and even after three bookings we were unable to request a room closer to the ocean. All of that said this is probably the nicest property in Daytona. We will be visiting other beaches in the future.

This place is fabulous! Very friendly, very clean, and affordable. Our «hotel» room was more like a small condo with a full kitchen, dining area, and even 2 balconies! We were so happy with our choice of this hotel! You won’t find better in Daytona!

We were at the Regency for 7 days… TIKI BAR… OMG, do not even know where to start! Brooke is one amazing person, she will make your food & drink ROCK! She is a professional & wants you to be happy! The Food was amazing which we had a few times! Every 32 oz. drink is worth it! The Snow Crab, Ahi Tuna Wrap, Pressed Cuban Sandwich & Giant Fried Fish Sandwich were FANTASTIC. We asked Brooke for her opinion even on restaurants & NEVER DID SHE LET US DOWN!!! Our 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Condo was wonderful. Great lay out. We were very comfortable. We had neighbors that were a pain but we got on that. If we go again & have those same type of neighbors we will not wait till the second day to get on it!
Also, John in Security is a gem. He is a great person, but yet a professional at his job!

Perfect hotel to stay at & the staff was so helpful and nice. We were only here for one day, and this hotel is close to beach, restaurants and shops. We had a studio room which had one room, living area w/​rollout bed, balcony w/​partial ocean view, kitchen table and full kitchen and tableware. I will definitely stay here again on my next Daytona visit & the price was very reasonable.

Great location, all the necessary amenities including indoor & outdoor jacuzzi & pool. Really quiet and clean. I met our very nice housekeeping lady too. Even the hallways smell good. Excellent customer service

Very nice hotel in Daytona close to Ocean Walk shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly. Pool & hot tub and an enclosed pool bar with pizza and snacks.
We booked a 2 bedroom ocean view at a last minute deal, under 140 with taxes. Rooms seem to have been recently renovated and plenty of room for six. Full kitchen is a bonus. I don’t get the huge bath tub in the room, same feature is at next door Wyndham hotel. Big waste of space.
In all this was a great deal in a very nice comfortable setting.

Only stayed here for a night for some extra vacation fun. Got a double room, 2 bed 2 bath with a full kitchen and a kitchenette. Room is very clean, comes stocked with everything you would need for an extended stay. Welcome packet is rather dumb containing free coffee thing which is already in your room, and coupons that you can pick up from 75% of the places here anyways. Rooms are rather outdated and the workers are mediocre at best. Wouldn’t mind staying here again if I had to but wouldn’t be my first choice on A1A.

Had a blast here! We spent a few nights here and we were totally impressed with how clean and spacious the room was! The price was great and the location was prime! The underground parking garage was a bit small, but got the job done and the elevators seemed to be running slow, but again for the price this hotel was awesome. The only negative thing I found in our room was the floor in our shower seemed to be soft and felt like it could break at any moment. I will definitely be returning to this hotel when in Daytona Beach!

Love, love this place. I absolutely love this place. It is spacious and clean. We got a 1 bedroom and loved it. It has a full kitchen with all the necessities to cook. There are beach towels waiting for you in your room. There is a game room. A gym. Indoor pool and hot tub. Outdoor pool with slide and hot tub. There are activities through out the day. It is close to the pier and movie theater. There is a parking garage for free. And the staff is very friendly. Great for families. Will definitely stay here over and over.

I don’t have a whole lot of complaints about this hotel. It was a comfy place to stay and for the price we were very happy to get a kitchen. The room was a good size. We were impressed. The hotel was really clean and the staff was VERY nice.
We weren’t pressured into a timeshare presentation like some were. I You’ll get that at any hotel on this beach though. Funny thing is that the employee said we would get a $ 50 dinner at the hotel restaurant if we did a presentation. They had a restaurant here? This place is surprisingly small. Only place I saw was near the outside pool deck and it looked more like a tiny hotel bar with about 3 tables and a couple high tops.
The biggest downside for my husband and I is that we have a young child. There are not many kids that stayed at this place only because all you need to do is look what is next door. The Ocean Walk is more suited for kids. It has large pools, a lazy river, a great big kid splash pad park with water slide and water slide in main pool, an awesome tiki bar (the Regency tiki bar is currently being renovated so you have to rely on going inside to the bar each time to order drinks), mini golf, a large arcade inside, etc. The view outside our window was all of the awesome kid stuff next door and our daughter went crazy, esp. seeing all of the kids to play with. We spent more time there than at the pools at our own hotel (easy to get in thankfully). It was kind of the best of both worlds though cause when we wanted to get all loud kid style, we went next door to get tired out. Then came back to the Regency to relax.
I would say however, that the Regency is more for those in their mid 20s and up who don’t have younger kids. If you want to come to relax by the pool, this place is better for you. Most of the guests when we went were older (a lot own timeshares and were in their 60s +). If you are a young 20 something kid looking to be a little loud by the pool, don’t even try it cause the older folks will most likely not like it. It’s quiet here and I was reluctant to have my daughter swim in the pool during the day (which is why we went next door). The beach just a few feet away is good for releasing energy.
The pool here was nice though, especially on colder days. Awesomely heated. We went swimming when it was in the upper 60s. There was also a water slide in the pool. My husband liked it and said it was a decent speed for a pool one.
Negatives:
— We didn’t have a maid come in once during our whole week stay to replace towels, coffee packs, etc. Maybe they don’t have that service here? Not that we really cared though. We just wanted coffee pack refills.
— Not many activities on site for a resort. The few activities they did have (painting a sea shell for expl) were poorly advertised located only in one place on a dry erase board and geared towards the elderly. We didn’t even discover them until they were finished. Doesn’t matter though because this place didn’t have much going on with activities anyway. They did have adult BINGO at one point where you could win drinks which was pretty cool.
— The indoor pool, while convenient for cold days, was very small. You cannot do laps. The outdoor pool was actually warmer since it’s heated and the hot tub outside was also hotter than the indoor one.
— If you don’t have an ocean front view, you either are going to be looking at an empty parking lot, a loading dock, the kid resort next door (even worse when you have a kid of your own wanting to go there instead), or the street. Not very picturesque, imo.
— My husband found a condom floating in the pool. Gross. It was probably a one time thing and they cleaned. This place was not dirty. Maybe just had some dirty guests at the time?
— The wifi was not good. You got it in the rooms, but it was weak.
— Tiki bar was being renovated outside. Just bad timing for us because people said it is one of the awesome amenities. We could have just gone to the Ocean Walk next door to do the large pool side bar though so no big deal.
— Hotel is outdated.
— No room service.
Overall, It was a decent stay. We really weren’t inconvenienced with anything just because of the easy access next door. We are coming back to Daytona next week (we live in Tampa), but are staying next door at the Ocean Walk to see how the rooms and entertainment compare. Read that review. Like I said, we have a young kid so it’s more convenient for us there since there is more to do.
Lastly, the beach was awesome. Not crowded, but lively and pretty. The sand was great for castle building. There is also an old boardwalk that is more like a carnival that wasn’t very far away and the Ocean Walk public storefront/​restaurant beach walk was nice.

Great location, walking distance to everything you might need on vacation!
Staff was friendly and nice. Rooms very clean, no complains. Breakfast was just OK nothing to brag about.
Had an amazing Memorial Weekend, definitely would come back!

Second stay here and it was just as great as last time! 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens! Great value! Rooms very clean and with great décor. Staff was friendly and helpful! Close to all the Oceanwalk shops a big plus. Will definitely come again!

I mean. for paying just over 100 bucks the suite was awesome! Service was incredible (my friend who had staid here previously literally had a staff member walk outside and hold an umbrella over him while he was grilling in the rain… that’s kinda above and beyond in my book). I’d hate to pay race or bike week rates, but this is definitely a great hotel, and the higher up the better the view!

Our stay was Oct 1 – 5 2012.
Positives:
–Our room was huge, we booked a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms. Full kitchen with everything! literally everything, you don’t even need dishwasher soap, they have it for you.
–Location was perfect, close to the boardwalk and grocery stores.
–Price was good.
–Clean.
–Secure and underground parking.
Negatives:
–Loud. I’m not talking about others vacationers but outside. We were facing south and apparently the hotel next to us had a delivery every night around 10pm. Loud, beeping semis or garbage trucks.
–The glass door in our front room was separating from the frame (or the seal was off,
I posted a picture).
–Staff. I was very thrown off that upon our arrival (with our 11 month old in hand) that they kept pressuring us to go to a presentation to purchase a time share. I looked at my son, then here and was like you can’t be serious… I told her my son wouldn’t sit through a 3 hour presentation and she kept going on and on about us coming. I blew her off and we went on our way and that was that.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, we’ve been to Daytona Beach many times but it was our first family vacation with our son. The full kitchen and near by grocery store made it affordable. We spent most of our time on the beach or driving to other attractions.

I was very happy when I checked in and made it to my room. The room was huge with two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a pull out couch. We also had a great view of the ocean from all the windows and though it overlooked an abandoned hotel that was run down as well the views of the city and ocean made up for it. We booked this place for my wife’s graduation and ended up having a total of 6 people stay the night and stay comfortably which was great. This place has dishware such as spoons, plates and cups which is great for a night of partying. The only reason this place does not get 5 stars under my review is because check in is at 4pm and checkout at 10 am to me this is way to late and way to early. But they did allow for a late check out of 11am when i called them to ask.

You get what you pay for. but I have stayed at other hotels in the Daytona Beach Shores area for the same price range and had a much more enjoyable stay. The 1^st time we stayed here we were surprised how much we enjoyed the room, pool and location. The past few times however the quality of the facility has greatly declined.
We arrived in Sept 2012 to find that the pool was closed for repairs, the room smelled (even the 2^nd one they moved us too), the A/​C worked poorly and the shower could not produce a «hot» shower. After a number of calls to the front desk we realized that the staff here simply did not have the capability to address the facilities problems. Would recommend you look at the Holiday Inn Resort or Hampton Inn down the street.

Love staying at this hotel when I stay in Daytona. So far I have stayed here twice and absolutely loved both stays.
The rooms are insanely spacious. Nice size kitchen, spacious living room, over-​sized bathroom and bedroom and during my last stay, double balconies.
Not only are the rooms great but they also have underground parking, a pool with a slide, an awesome tiki bar with delicious food and drinks, an indoor pool and spa, plus a mini workout room.
It’s beachfront and within immediate walking distance to the Daytona Beach plaza with the movie theater and lots of restaurants.
The only downside is that it is right next door to one of the major Daytona resorts so if you’re on the side that overlooks it, it makes you kind of envious of those staying next door to you because that place is amazing and full of even better amenities.
However, for the price, you can’t beat staying here. Especially if you are staying for multiple nights. The rooms are awesome and extremely spacious.
