Called their number off of Unilocal around 7am in the morning looking to get a ride to the Amtrak station in Davis. The guy mentioned about 10 minutes to get to West Village, and he showed up right on time.
Was your ordinary type of taxi, no fancy bells and whistles of an Über Black, but it did the trick. The driver took a fast route and made some small conversation.
Definitely pricier than an Über or Lyft, but I would recommend it if you can’t find a ride… beats waiting for a bus!

A & B Taxi is the WORST!!! Businesses DO NOT recommend this company to your customers. The driver hit an elderly woman’s car while in between fares. He refused to give her his insurance information or even his name. He did give her a generic business card. Both the woman and her insurance company has called both phone numbers listed on the card. The elderly woman’s insurance agency has requested A & B TAXI’s insurance information several times and the person who answers the phone (the suspected owner) refuses to provide ANY information. He is rude and unruly then he hangs up on them. DO NOT get in the car with these people… if there is an accident and you are hurt, you may be up the creek SOL … Be safe and think twice.

I am injured so called for a ride to work. Daniel said 10 – 15 minutes then called my cell waiting out front 5 minutes later. I asked him to wait for me to put on my shoes and he politely did so without running the meter. I was driven to work efficiently while Daniel made some small talk. He was courteous to a man who called for a ride also. They have bad reviews here but reviews on google/maps are glowing 5*s. Just sayin’.

DON’T DEAL WITH THEM !!!
I called the night before my son’s dentist appointment to schedule a ride, they said I have to call in the morning half an hour before. So i did and I waited out side with my kids and booster seats for 15 minutes before I called him, i told that i have an appointment for my son that we are waiting for for 3 weeks and he is late, THE GUY WAS SUPER RUDE, HE SAID GO AHEAD ND CANCEL IF U WANT, BYE, hanged up !!! He didn’t even bother to apologize or say something nice .
Not only that we were late and could have missed the appointment, but also had a very very bad start of the day .
They should be put off business, not only that they are not reliable, but rude and unprofessional !!

Ok first off– let me lay out the scene. I am a single woman who lives alone. I took a cab to my house at 2am on a Friday night.
The cab arrived quickly and brought me to my home in a timely manner for a fair price. However… ABOUT 50 SECONDS AFTER DROPPING ME OFF OUTSIDE MY HOME THE CAB DRIVER STARTED TEXTING ME telling me I «made his night» and «made him happy, he doesnt know why»
I am DISGUSTED. what a complete lack of professionalism!!! i took a cab to be safe– and a strange man, who knows where i live, stole my phone number to hit on me.

I’ve used A&B regularly for the last year and a half or so, as do my roommates and my sister when she comes to Davis to visit me from San Jose. They’re fast, not jerks about accepting debit/credit cards like most taxi companies are, and the ride is always enjoyable. One of the drivers remembers my name every time he picks me up, even if it’s been months between rides. As for speed, convenience and friendliness, A&B really can’t be beat in Davis.

Things were going good in setting up a time to be picked up… But because it was 6 AM… The price for a two mile trip was going to be 20 bucks… These guys are the biggest rip off artists…

Awful. I called one time and they never showed up and after calling back and waiting an hour I finally had to have a friend come pick me up. Definitely go with Dan’s cab.
