We had an excellent experience getting our hardwood floors refinished. The work was done very professionally and on time. Communication was excellent. We had an issue after the work was done and Tony could not have been nicer about getting it taken care of properly. All in all we could not have been happier– a real pleasure to deal with true professionals.

My mom Cathy had her floors put in today by Rene the installer. Rene was efficient, hard working, precise and extremely clean in his work. Tony, the owner, was a pleasure to work with, and was was absolutely awesome in facilitating getting the job done.
The floor they had installed looks beautiful and my mom couldn’t be happier! We rate this establishment 5 stars and highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent work at a reasonable price!

When my husband and I decided to replace our carpeting we did a lot of shopping around. This company got great reviews on Unilocal so we decided to give it a try. We wanted partly carpeting and partly high-​end bamboo, with distress marks to hide any scratches that might be made by our 2 mid-​size dogs. Direct Sales seemed to be the only company with the bamboo we liked and the owner, Tony, was very patient in helping us to choose the right product. Once we ordered the products and the installation date was set, everything went smoothly… or so we thought. The bamboo was beautiful and the carpet looked great. What we didn’t plan on was that one of our dogs (we never figured out which one) apparently thought the carpet was a new delicacy so decided to pull up the edge and eat a piece! Upon closer inspection it did appear that the carpet wasn’t installed tightly enough, but honestly, I expected to have to pay a lot of money to have it fixed. When one of the head installers came out to examine the damage we pointed out that the installation seemed to be on the loose side, but readily admitted the dog took a bite out of it. We were pleasantly surprised when they repaired it at no charge! The installer worked with us to find a solution to prevent this from happening again and it looked great.
I’d like to say the problem was over but the d@^^! dogs did it again! Called Tony again, embarrassed, but he was cool about it and the installer came out again to fix it. I don’t remember exactly how much the 2^nd time cost but it was quite reasonable; the biggest pain was my embarrassment!
We had one more issue earlier this year — minor, but clearly an installation flaw (the carpet was lifting in one spot). It was repaired quickly and once again we weren’t charged. This is a small business but reasonably priced, honest and responsive. Hopefully I won’t have to call them again!

We had the pleasure of working with Tony during the past 6 mos. on upgrading flooring in two houses — 4 bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms, 1 foyer, and carpet throughout a house.
We visited Tony’s store after striking out at 4 other flooring stores which either didn’t want to spend more than 5 minutes with us or wanted to sell us products we didn’t need. Tony spent 1.5 hrs with us on our first visit! He patiently answered all of our questions, educated us on our options, and informed us of ways to decrease cost.
The real test of a person’s character is not when things go smoothly but when things don’t go well. A few issues came up during one installation. We brought up the issues to Tony. To our surprise, he didn’t blow us off as many contractors would. He profusely apologized and personally came to our house to fix the issues.
He personally oversaw two of the major installations and conveyed to the installers what needed to be done. His expertise on the job site was reassuring because we didn’t have the knowledge to answer the installers’ questions.
Tony embodies excellent, personalized customer service which is a rarity these dyas. He’s detailed, thoughtful, ethical, and knowledgeable. He is our go-​to person for any flooring project. We highly recommend him.

Tony is the most professional, ethical business owner you will find! I refer him to all of my clients, with no worries, and use him on my own home projects. He will go out of his way to locate hard-​to-​find materials for you, keeps you informed of delivery timelines, does a great job at a fair price — and — you can trust him! That in itself speaks volumns, in today’s world. If I could give him 10 stars, I would!

We had Direct Sales Floors install new vinyl in our kitchen. A small job, but meticulously executed. We picked the vinyl color from the samples Tony brought in, and he gave us a link to a website that had all the choices, just to make sure. I had asked Tony to extend the vinyl all the way under the dishwasher, which they did seamlessly. Now when we have to pull the dishwasher out sometime in the hopefully far future, it won’t get caught on the edge. I will definitely call them again for future projects.

This review is for the service we received in the showroom only. Although my wife and I went with another vendor for our hardwood, we had a very positive experience with the team at Direct Sales Floors. Tony and Joe helped us over several visits and both were extremely knowledgeable about hardwood. Joe even stayed after hours one evening to chat with us about hardwood and answer our questions. I should also note that Laura at their Castro Valley showroom was also very helpful. All in all, great customer service!

I had my home renovated this past week. Since Tony from Direct Sales Floors BID was 60% MORE EXPENSIVE than other (diamond certified) competitors I decided to strictly buy my materials from him (since I negotiated a good deal).
After being made aware of my project schedule, Tony gave me an arrival time of 2 weeks for the materials to come in. He was confident that I would be able to schedule my sub-​contractors accordingly to that time frame and just for good measure he stated the materials should be in no later than 2 ½ weeks TOPS!
To my dismay, Tony calls me with less than a week notice and informs me he was having major problems with his distribution representative and the flooring materials are not going to be available as planned. It arrived after 1 MONTH.
So this mistake on Tony’s part not only directly affected the renovation schedule but also cost me a good amount of money!
After emailing Tony the financial situation… he felt that although he KNEW my schedule with the sub-​contractors it was my fault for not giving him enough time to attain the materials!
Then why did you sell me materials to begin with?! JUST TO MAKE A BUCK?
Customer service, and communication is a huge problem with Tony/​Direct Sales Floors!

Amazing! Tony Gomez is extremely knowledgeable about floors. He explained every option to us and helped us find the right floor. They have a great selection to choose from. We needed tile and new carpet after looking at our old carpet for 20 years, and found Direct Sales Floors on Unilocal.After seeing so many positive reviews about Tony, I called him up to arrange a meeting. He came to the Castro Valley store to meet us and showed us both tile and carpet. Tony was so informative and so patient! He stayed with us as we looked at different styles, explaining things and answering our questions, even the dumb ones, like a good friend would. By that I mean we never felt like we were talking to a salesman, he was like a friend who listened to what we were trying to do for flooring, and gave us his informed advice. No pressure, just guidance. Tony then came to our house twice, loaded down with carpet samples and helped us pick the perfect carpet. His price was better than the 3 other quotes we got, and when Carpet Day came, his carpet guys, Leo and Romiro, were fantastic. The carpet was perfectly installed, the fit and finish is excellent. I highly recommend Tony at Direct Sales for your carpet needs!

When we moved into our house a couple of years ago the guest room had never been re-​carpeted by the old owners. Not too sure why they left it out, but it stuck out like a sore thumb. The old carpet did not match the rest of the house and had extremely ugly stains.
We decided to go local and have the room re-​carpeted by Direct Sales. We had decided to remodel the guest bathroom at the time as well so it was good timing. We unfortunately couldn’t find a carpet that matched the other rooms (it was a strange color and texture), so simply picked out a stain resistant, moderately plushy, neutral carpet that we liked better anyway. The type of carpet you love to lie down on if you know what I mean.
Tony didn’t try to up sell us on anything outrageous. The carpet we liked the best happened to be mid-​range and not super expensive. Prices here may not be the cheapest, but they seemed reasonable (we didn’t do a lot of shopping around to be honest).
They came and installed the carpet. No fuss. Professional and easy to deal with.
So now our guest room carpet still sticks out like a sore thumb. But at least it looks nice and it is by far the most comfortable room in the house!

Okay, Tony’s Gomez already has lot of 5 star reviews for his business, so this one can’t raise his score, but add one more 5. Tony is wonderful to work with. My wife and I bought a beautiful wood floor from Direct Sales Floors, through our general contractor. At the time, when the general contractor told us he had a company coming by to show us some samples, we didn’t remember Tony until he walked in. We had a great experience with him when buying some area rugs and carpeting years ago. And Tony has not lost his touch for personal relationship and customer service.
With our 2 Golden Retrievers, it only took a moment after the installation (which went very fast and was flawless) for the dogs to make a scratch in a very visible area. Tony came right out and had his floor repair person restore it like it was never there. We have a year guarantee on the floor and the phone number of the gentleman who does the repairs. Thankfully, we haven’t had any more scratches and it is holding up nicely while looking absolutely stunning (dark wood with white leather furniture). What really stands out is when the scratch occurred, we were a little «hot» as the wood floor was top grade. Tony has a way of taking ownership over every problem and doesn’t make excuses. You can’t help but feel that everything is going to be alright.
Since then we have bought 4 very nice custom cut area rugs to protect the wood from Direct Sales Floors through Tony. He came out to measure, and then remeasure before cutting to get the «zig-​zag» layout just right. He personally dropped off the new rugs, laid them out, and cleaned up and picked up the temporary rugs and folded them nicely for us. My wife was out of town and Tony offered to come back to make any adjustments or re-​cutting should she feel that she wanted changes. All-​in-​all, very outstanding client service.

Just had carpet installed in 4 rooms of my home and I can’t be more happier. Tony and his team did a fantastic job. They showed up on time, were very professional, and did a remarkable job. I can definitely recommend them and give them the highest rating.

Shortly after moving into out first home we had Tony and his team install new hardwood floors and carpet. He was able to find the hardwood floors to match what the builders in our kitchen used and now our first floor looks amazing. That alone would get him a recommendation but the carpet on the second floor and stairs turned out great. Our home looks new and more inviting now.
As other reviewers have said, Tony is awesome and his team top notch. Tony is patient and professional and will always try to get you to save money. How rare is that? We had to splurge on the identical hardwood floors but Tony tried so hard to find a replacement for less. And even with the carpets he would show us samples that were just as good (sometimes even better) than the more expensive brands. Thats rare indeed and much appreciated. Thanks Tony.

When we bought our new home, we knew that we wanted to tear out our existing ‘standard’ flooring and get what we dreamed of… without the exorbitant builder price tag. I searched far and wide for a company that I knew would do a great job and be honest with us about our options. We went to a number of different vendors in the bay area, but no one compared to Direct Sales. We had a bit of a special case where we were trying to match the builders wood; Direct Sales was the only place that found it after extensive research.
Dan is the man! He not only is incredibly knowledgeable, but also was communicative and always prompt to reply to us. His brother who installed the flooring was also incredibly nice and took great care in his work.

I remodeled an area at my office and removed a room. We needed to repair the carpet where the wall was removed. I called the floor company who installed to original carpet and was told that it was no longer available. I decided to call Tony and he found my carpet! His crew installed it very fast and with great care. Tony made a great suggestion also to install the new carpet in another detached room an move that carpet to the new area to match the surrounding area since it was from the same batch. I would never have thought of that! Tony really knows his stuff! Highly recommend Tony and his crew.

We had a great experience with Direct Sales Floors. Tony is very knowledgeable about flooring, and spent a lot of time with us going over our options. He was very receptive to our needs, as my wife and I changed our minds quite a few times.
Once we settled in on a hardwood choice, we found his pricing to be in-​line (even lower) with many other quotes that we received. Despite the lower pricing, the quality did not suffer. His installers are top-​notch and were extremely careful in all the wood cuts that they made. We had 800 sq ft of hardwood installed on a concrete slab, with new baseboards installed as well. It looks fantastic.

AWESOME JOB! We recently had our wood floors refinished by Direct Sales Floors. One of the things that I really liked in the beginning was that when Tony came to look at our floors, he asked questions about elements that we hadn’t considered. It takes the eye of a professional to pick up on the finer details.

Direct sales floors does a great job with all flooring. We had a lot of water damage in our downstairs bathroom. We called Tony Gomez and asked for his help in taking out the carpet and installing tile in this bathroom. He was Very, Very patient in helping us pick out tile, colors, and design a custom pattern.
