Montclair Rug Gallery

I have purchased multiple rugs from Montclair Rug Gallery, a Montclair institution and a warm and inviting experience. With a contemporary home, Mozey has an eye for color and design. He visited my home and worked with the palate to find a rug that perfectly suits the room. Also have had the rugs professionally cleaned through his recommended service providers at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend Montclair Rug Gallery.

Mozey was super! He helped us find several rugs that were just perfect for our home. He even kept looking for us after we left, sending pictures and information. We couldn’t ask for a better rug buying experience. We got to take the rugs home for a test drive, and return any that were not just perfect. But it was the extra effort to help us find the right rug (plus coming in to the store on a closed Sunday) that was outstanding. Large selection, great service. Highly recommended.

My parents who live in Montclair had several rugs repaired through the Montclair Rug Gallery and had been very happy with the repair work, so when I was looking for some rugs for my new home my mother suggested we stop in at this shop. I made the drive from Novato and what a delight Mozey and his wife Jan are. They took the time to explain their merchandise and showed me many options that might work for my space and coloring. They found options outside of their store and emailed me photos for consideration. I visited 4 other rug galleries and no one had as great a selection or matched their customer service. I found 4 perfect rugs for my home and now a month has gone by and I still couldn’t be happier! They have rugs from old to newer from bright to muted. So much to choose from from two of the nicest people I have ever met!

Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with the owners of the Montclair Rug Company. While trying to communicate with Jan about an issue that I was not happy about, she refused to listen to me and walked away in the middle of our conversation. I would suggest that one consider their options before entering into a business transaction with the owners.

I telephoned to ask they carried a particular carpet hanging hardware and Mosi (?) shared his thinking and experience in a very postitive and generous way.

Mrs Cheesemonger and I came in here today to check out the wares and walked out with a Pakistani rug for the Living Room.
Nice rug, nice folks, nice store…
