I went in for a Green Peace Massage and my masseuse FELL ASLEEP in the middle of the massage.
He was a really heavy breather that was distracting even over the white noise machine and the music. He pumped the lotion right by my ear, every time, in this vigorous and distracting way. He waved his hand towards my face for the aromatherapy portion, which was different in a weird way. He could not fit around the table comfortably and thus I was bumped a lot. He mostly stayed seated in the rolling chair and just squeaked his way around. Every time he went past my head, my whole head had to come up a little for him to get by. He did not fit comfortably at the head of the table so he couldn’t massage standing at my head, but instead at an angle which was not relaxing. He used his hairy arms to massage which is just so icky and I asked him to stop. When he put the long heated things on me they were crooked so I felt a little lopsided the whole time. The massage wasn’t symmetrical which also gave me the feeling of being unbalanced.
THE MASSAGE WASN’T EVEN A MASSAGE. Just lotion all over. He didn’t locate a single muscle anywhere. He applied zero pressure. He did not ask what kind of pressure I preferred. I was sort of waiting it out thinking he would start the real massage any minute or maybe at least it would be over soon. When he moved the blankets around it wasn’t neat and efficient and in a way I felt he was careful. Just moved about here and there. I’m used to being kind of tucked in and around in a way that feels as if some training has occurred.
When he got to my feet there was just not much going on at all. Just when I was ready to call it all off and get up, there was snoring. There was a large man asleep with his head resting on the table between my feet. It was a pretty terrible visual. His hand was on my foot and he was twitching as one does when they are asleep. I mean.…
I really wanted to take a photo or video of this man, but couldn’t reach my phone without getting off the table and being exposed. I woke him up and asked, «Are you asleep?!» He grunted, «Huh? Huh? Was I asleep?»
Worst, most skeezy experience ever. A very petite woman is already feeling a little vulnerable being naked on a table in a room alone with a man. He did not make me feel at ease and ramped up quickly to feeling just ill about it.
The manager was great. I wanted to leave in a huff and feel mad and grossed out. She convinced me to receive a complimentary massage from a female masseuse. The complimentary massage was FANTASTIC. But there was no real way to relax after that first experience.
I still feel super weirded out and gross.

Just for the record, I have had male masseuses and always left feeling great. And I do actually like this Spa okay, although it is nearly too small. I suggest if you go, you should definitely book a female massage therapist. I highly recommend Jennifer Webb. Four stars for her walking into my crappy situation and having me leave with a really great massage. That was a tough act to follow.

Wonderful massage with the lavender/​vanilla oil. Michelle was so thoughtful and had great energy! I felt wonderful after and I appreciate them fitting me in so quickly!

Brittnee is phenomenal!!! I pulled my back earlier that week and could not turn my head or lift my arm without experiencing sharp, excruciating pain. At first, I went to see a chiropractor at The Joint, who said it was severe enough that I needed a massage before she could give me a proper adjustment. When I met with Brittnee to explain my situation, she immediately blew me away with her knowledge of the human body. She educated me on which muscles were causing the pain, WHY they were causing the pain, and her strategy to fix it. My neck is ultra sensitive, so I was nervous about that portion of the massage – but Brittnee nailed it! She has a special neck technique that quite literally made me feel like a new person. She far exceeded my expectations, not only alleviating my pain – but also with her rockstar personality, professionalism, knowledge of the human body. Highly recommend!!!

This is regarding the facial that I had this past December. In addition to my face, a scrub was used on my lips which left them raw afterwards. They still have not healed since this facial. I was not impressed with the results and did not appreciate the upsell on their products which I found ineffective. Despite multiple moisture creams on my lips, they still have not returned to what they were like prior. Also, with the facial extractions, I question the experience of the therapist. I. have some odd scarring from them that I hope will heal soon!
The massage I had was very good though with my experience with the facial, I do not see myself returning to this spa.
The people there were very friendly but I was expecting a higher quality experience from the facial.

Let me start my review with the fact that I have worked 25 years in the spa industry and have had too many massages to count. Due to the wear and tear on my body, I am no longer working. That being said… Toma gave me the BEST massage I’ve EVER had today! He knows what he is doing. I had the 80 minute Terra Firma massage (deep tissue). I have very tight muscles and he worked out all my sore and tight aches and pains. I am so sad that I have found him and this spa right when I am moving out of state… I may fly in occasionally just to get this massage!
It’s not a fancy/​stuffy spa. Just a realxing, quaint place with great service. The girls at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The hot tea or water and warm neck wrap start the process of relaxation. The shop in front of spa offers all the wonderful products you would expect of a store front spa. I was in last week for a quick 35 minute Little Gree massage (which is why I went back for the real deal today) and eyebrow wax. My esthetician was Venessa. Her eyebrow shaping is on point. She recommended a product for me for redness from waxing and for my rosacea… Clovertree Calendula therapy oil. My skin has never been more hydrated… LOVE this stuff!
I move in 6 weeks and I’m already planning to schedule my next appointments before we pull out of town! Definetly check this place out.

I paid for a deep tissue, hard touch therapeutic massage. They ask in detail how often and for how long you have gotten massage. I said 30 years deep tissue pressure point hard touch massage. I got a very relaxing soft to medium touch swedish massage. Those cost $ 40.00 less and the reason for going was not achieved. I will be glad when my massage therapist get back in town. I was hoping this would be the second alternative for the 3 – 4 times a year I need an emergency massage that my therapist can’t accommodate. Which she usually can. If you want a phew phew massage. This place is very good. It was just disappointing when I actually paid for and tried to express 3 times to the therapist what I was wanting. IN THE END WHEN I LEFT THE ONLY WORDS OUT OF THE FRONT DESK WAS HAVE A NICE DAY. NO QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW WAS IT OR HOW DO YOU FEEL?

I’ve had inconsistent experiences here. I recently had a 50 minute Earth Mama with Kim and my husband had a 50 minute Green Peace with Debra. We’d both rate our massages a solid B, and mine was 10 minutes short. When I mentioned this to the receptionist, her response was «oh», which makes the experience doubly frustrating. However, a few months back I had an 80 minute Green Peace with Mart that was amazing and left me in a little puddle of goo. I’d go back to him in a heartbeat.

My mother-​in-​law and I did the Green Freak spa package — the mack daddy option where you give them your firstborn to be touched for 5 hours straight.
The body services were phenomenal. I had Kayla as my body treatment/​masseuse and she is fantastic. I love that she understands what medium to firm pressure is. What is it about my 5’3.5″ frame that makes people think I like to be gently patted? Kayla almost scrubbed my epidermis off while doing the body scrub — AND I’M BABY BUTT SMOOTH AS A RESULT. Love her! The signature massage comes with a separate hand and feet treatment so oils will soak into the most overused and dry parts of your body. We did a separate foot ritual where you get massaged SOME MORE.
I feel like the Green Freak kind of overlap in its services. I just didn’t think I needed that much attention to the same parts of my body. The Green Freak comes with the softest robe in the whole wide world and a basic lunch of salad/​sandwiches.
What I didn’t like about my services were 1) how hot everything was, 2) rough facials, and 3) tiny relaxing room.
Maybe I’m just super sensitive to heat but everything felt like it was boiling. The hot towels that they put on you to keep your muscles loose after massages, the towels they wrap around your feet, the neck pressure towel, the water for the foot ritual, the stone that they RUB ON YOUR FACE for your facial — everything was SO hot. I cringed when the stone touched my face during my facial. It felt like I was being burned by a curling iron. Additionally, my facialist was really rough. Or maybe that’s normal? I don’t know. I’ve never had a facial before. She was trying to clear my pores and pressed INTO my head. I was going to complain but thought maybe this was normal. I wash my makeup off daily and use SPF 50 like it’s the source of life. I don’t have blackheads, whiteheads, any color heads — so maybe she just worked extra hard into my face because she thinks my face is lying to her? I don’t know. I also didn’t like that the waiting/​relaxing room is a curtain away from the main lobby. I lose my zen because I hear loud shoppers behind the curtain.
Based on my visit, I would definitely send my husband to Kayla to experience that glorious massage. As for other services, I don’t think I’m that big of a fan to spend that much money.

I had a gift card for SH for a while now so I decided to schedule a green peace (Swedish) massage. The place in general is pretty small yet cozy, which was nice considering I was the only person there in the waiting room. They offer you a warm neck wrap and citrus water in the waiting area. The little shop when you first walk in is really cute. I didn’t bother looking around because I wasn’t trying to spend anything. The service was really great and the girls at the front desk were very friendly.
Brittanee was the one who gave me a massage and she was great. She was very sweet, polite and did exactly what I expected. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I’ve had a professional massage before and if I had to compare, I think the one I got in Austin was better. If I had nothing to compare it to, I probably would say this was the best.
FYI: parking can suck on the weekends so come early for your appointment.

Britnee was fantastic and used the perfect amount of pressure. I had the herbal back treatment/​wrap and massage and she also rubbed my feet using reflexology techniques. Most amazing foot massage I’ve ever had! I will definitely return.
Only downside is it’s hard to find and we were late which really stressed me out so maybe when the receptionist calls the day before the appointment she could confirm with new clients if they are familiar with that part of town or not and that it’s not actually on McKinney street :)

The bf and I booked a couples massage while we were in town. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and completely understanding when we showed up late (we couldn’t find it). Both therapists (Mart and Sarah Shelby) were amazing! And the store in front was very nice ! I wish we lived in Dallas so we could go back all the time !!

Just had the best massage ever! Kim was fantastic! Already booked for next month. Great décor, staff, massage. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve been visiting Spa Habitat for over a year and Jody Blackwell is the best massage therapist in Dallas! I like deep tissue and since I’ve been seeing Jody regularly my back spasms have completely stopped. She has the magic touch and she listens and responds to my input – amazing!

I’ve been going here for about a year hoping to get help with the arthritis in my knees. No more limping! Anna is awesome!

— Great massage– worked out every knot and sore muscle!
— Appointments were available last minute, which makes it easier to schedule here when you suddenly realize you have an extra hour and need to blow off some stress.
— Personnel was super friendly and helpful when picking out bath and body products for specific problems (ie. menthol –like bath salts for sore muscles).
— SH itself is kinda small and so there’s limited space to relax before after a treatment. And there are only a couple of bathrooms. However, the small space makes feel more cozy and inviting. — — My main complaint is the parking. After parking in a garage 5 floors up and then fighting through the crowds eating on the side walk, the relaxing message beings to wear off.

Went here to do a «Trial» before my upcoming wedding. Got a Body Scrub and Facial that were amazing! My Aesthetician, Amanda, was extremely knowledgeable and helped me learn a lot of new things about my skin. My skin has been glowing and radiant since! Will definitely be visiting here again right before the wedding and in the future afterwards!

This is one of my favorite spas in Dallas. It’s affordable and the service is great. I enjoyed the serene waiting room as that is hard to find in the midst of the city with all of the noise and surrounding businesses. I was sure that my 50 minute massage went way over due to the relaxation I was able to find and was surprised to realize that it stayed right on schedule – definitely feel like I got my money’s worth.
I’ve tried other spas in Dallas and to me it’s all about the atmosphere you experience before during and after your service. If you don’t want to break the bank this is definitely your best bet!

My boyfriend bought me a gift certificate for my birthday a while ago. I was in a lot of pain because I do hair and its very hard on your neck and back so I finally decided to use it. The front desk girl was friendly when I walked in. It was a very calm and relaxing environment. I got the hot stone massage and I can honestly say it was the best massage I’ve ever had and I’ve had alot! Sarah was amazing! It was long and relaxing and she worked out all my kinks! I still have money on my gift card and I can’t wait to go back to use it again! I highly reccomend Sarah and the hot stone massage!

I LOVE this spa. My first time here someone had given me a gift of the mineral mud wrap. I was worried about being wrapped because I get claustrophobic easily. The wrap was great. They made sure to leave me room to move around. Each body part is wrapped separately so there was no feeling of confinement. The whole process was incredibly relaxing. Included was a head and shoulder massage which was wonderful. When I left I noticed how great my skin looked afterwards. Very fresh and even toned.
My second time here was for a massage. I got the basic little green massage which is all upper body. I wish I could remember the name of my masseuse because she was wonderful. She got every knot out of my back! I felt incredibly relaxed afterwards and was actually able to sleep better that week due to my muscle tension finally being relieved.
Overall the ambiance is very calm and relaxing. Everyone there is so nice and puts you completely at ease. The services offered are fitting to any need you have. I would definitely recommend this place for yourself or as a gift to someone else.

Cemetria no longer works here, so I don’t go here anymore. It’s still a nice place but you can probably find better for the money.

God service and product.

While everyone was really nice, I expected far more from the most expensive package they offered. The website only mentions that you have a block of four and a half hours free for the spa day package. It doesn’t mention that you have to book by a certain time of the day. Not only did I not receive the spa lunch, I also was charged the entire amount.
The facial was wonderful. I learned a lot about my skin. However it was my first facial so I don’t have a lot to compare it to.
The massage at the end was brutal. I had requested light to medium pressure, and she had me in tears. I almost elbowed her out of instinct for causing me so much pain. In my mind light to medium means a relaxing pressure. I was not happy.
The spa day package was also to include a complimentary robe, which they did not give me. However, they made sure to pile the register full of product. For that reason I will not return. After spending well over 500 dollars on a day at the spa, and not receiving either the lunch or the robe that was advertised, I think it was in poor taste to try to add on so much stuff. I felt taken advantage of.
I cannot recommend based on my experience.

My husband and I went in for a couples massage to celebrate our anniversary. We were whisked in and relaxed for an hour by two friendly and able masseuses. I loved the hot rocks. I loved the tucked away feel of the place. It is clean and inviting and efficient. The music was great and not the typical pan-​flute-​jazz mess. Booking the appointment was easy.
This was a treat for us and money well spent.

I received a massage from Spa Habitat as a birthday gift. I opted for the Summer Citrus Massage and was able to schedule over the phone for a time (though there was also an online option)
The waiting area of the spa was low-​lit and infused with a natural fragrance, and I was given hot tea to drink before my service. My massage therapist Lisa was great! She listened to my concerns and was very skillful. I will fully admit that fell asleep twice during my service — pretty embarrassing but really a testament to how relaxing it was! My only gripe is that for the price point, I would have expected a few more spa «extras» like a steam cave or whirlpool.
I had a great experience and was very glad to have received a Spa Habitat treatment as a gift.

I was calling around last week to get my husband a massage, he has been working so hard and needed some muscle work… I like how calm, earthy Spa Habitat has always appeared and like their products and they are close to his work.
When I called the girl who answered the phone was not at all inviting or pleasant. She was very quick and snippy… Sounded like she was not happy to be answering the phone for a paying client or to be working at all. I asked about availability and she immediately said that she was booked and did not even offer to help with another available time.
It is true what they say: first impressions are everything. And this made me not want to ever try their services.
