Jackson’s Home & Garden

Love Jackson’s, especially as the Holidays draw near. The place is a show within itself… and everything is for sale! This is not the least expensive nursery in Dallas, in fact it is quite the opposite, however, they have some great plants, decorations, furniture, statuary, and grills that you will not find anywhere else.

This place is a ripoff. They will sell you anything, for example a remote sensing meat thermometer AND a BBQ Guru DigiQ even though the DigiQ has a meat thermometer built in! Now I have to make a trip back to return the thermometer, which cost $ 90.

Italian dinnerware is worth the trip alone! Helpful sales clerks, store is gigantic with everything you would ever want for a patio or garden or rolling estate.

Jackson’s has the best quality stuff! We have purchased many items there and it has made our home and yard look amazing! I especial love their fountain collection. I highly recommend Jackson’s! They have great sales on holidays. The staff is always so friendly and they let us bring our little doggie.

Great place to find those things you never knew you couldn’t live without and plenty to choose from.

Today I went to Jackson Pottery to enjoy their Christmas Open House. I’ve attended this event for the past couple of years and really enjoyed it. I sent forward their email to friends and invited them to join. But this time it was different. First of all their advertisement in my opinion was misleading. The marketing email said that «Christmas Ornaments were 25% off. The only ornaments that were on sale were the ones with a hook. I thought that was kinda strange, but a slick way of getting folks in early for their holiday décor shopping. Even the staff made comment on how it was confusing. On another note, I’m re-​doing 3 gas fireplaces in my home. They all have gas logs and I’m research on how to «re-​build» them from the pan up. I’ve worked with the grill/​fire place staff over the years and have found them to be very helpful except for the man who wears a thin pony tail. I don’t have his name nor am I interested in learning it. But his behavior today was over the top. He was insulting and condescending. When I pressed him for an explanation on a valve question, he gave me bad information and when I questioned his answer he told me he had 24 years experience and he knew what he was talking about. Well, clearly just because you’ve held a retail job in selling fireplace equipment for 24 yrs doesn’t make you smart or knowledgable. Your behavior is a clear indicator he might need additional training or find a job without public contact.

This place is massive! My new obsession… :)) Awesome variety, quality, etc. but most importantly, really unique pieces… I feel like I can come here & always find something that becomes one of my favorite things! (latest obsession, antiqued wall mirrors)

Omg, sooooooo this place is huge! Went to buy a pot. left with 3 pots, 2 decorative pillows, a painting, a couple mirrors, a pair of earrings & some coasters; Mom got a comforter, drapes & China; Dad paid. LOL (we’re gonna go back & get the BBQ grill he was looking at for his bday next month.) ;) love this place! Just make sure you have plenty of time when you go :)

I’ve been here about 20 times. But I can only think of 5 times I’ve purchased a small plant. I love browsing here, getting ideas, and buying elsewhere.
Why? Because of price. They have a vast selection of plants, pots, grills, fountains and outdoor furniture (don’t forget to go upstairs). But, you can find similar items elsewhere around town and online, for much less.
Now don’t get me wrong. They have some truly unique items. But they also have many garden items at prices which make you go «Hmmmmmmmm». Oh and don’t worry about being bothered by the staff (except in the grill area). They keep to themselves.

i went here for some garden supplies what impressed me was the service that i got outside from the employee that works at jacksons i had 4 bags of mulch compost and he just came over and loaded in my car and he was nice enough to put plastic in my trunk so as not to get dirt all over my carpets.

Jackson’s has a good selection but is overpriced. I bought a grill and it was two weeks late and I asked for free delievery due to inconvinence. We were told two weeks was «not that late.» I would not purchase big ticket items from here. Customer service is terrible there.

This place is HUMONGOUS. Like insanely big. I was in heaven. until I saw the prices. There were a couple good sale items and I ended up getting some really cute, cheap pots. Also, everyone was really helpful and spent a lot of time with me explaining sale items and helping me decide which plants would make it through the winter. If money were no object I could gladly fill my cart with fantastically over-​priced home decorations and gardening goodies as I wonder around like a wide-​eyed kid in a candy store. But that’s not reality, so I’ll be going back to Lowe’s haha
FYI: they have tyler candles!

We REALLY, REALLY wanted to like this place despite warning from a friend living nearby.
We found a bench we liked at a great price, but they strung us along for two weeks without any return calls.
We stopped by twice — still no updates. Finally, I called back and was told they couldn’t find our bench after all. I asked for a manager but she ‘was out’. I asked her to call me back. Surprise! NO PHONE CALL.
We won’t go back but we will take our friend who tried to warn us out to dinner!

I went today to pickup a garden hose holder because most stores sell cheap plastic ones that break. I found what I was looking for (tho limited selection) at a reasonable price for the quality.
There were a large selection of plants, pots, fountains, sculptures, patio furniture, grills, décor, etc. I even saw playground equipment too.
If you’re looking for higher-​end outdoor stuff than what big box stores offer, this will be the place for you.
In terms of price, some items are better than others. Some were more expensive than they should have been and some were good deals but that’s true of most any place you shop.

I LOVE Jackson’s Home and Garden! I have known the owners for years and have always be so helpful every time I am in there. I have multiple people ask me if I have any questions or need any help. They have a well trained staff and they are well educated on their products. Customer service is great!!!

My wife and I have been to Jackson’s several times over the last few years. It’s a great place to browse and window shop. We were there a weekend or two ago ready to buy a Big Green Egg smoker. The model we were looking at ranged from $ 1000 to $ 1250 depending on options. We spent quite a bit of time looking at the different models and accessories during which several employees walked by and not one offered to help or even say BOO to us. Maybe we didn’t have our Rolexes and Gucci sneakers where they were showing, I’m just not sure. Anywho, we ended up driving to Colleyville and buying the Big Green Egg at Foreman’s Supply. Super nice and helpful people up there. They know how to treat people, which the folks at Jackson’s have yet (if ever) to learn.

Well, I’ve been two or three times. Browsed everything from plants to pottery and furniture. I am in buying mode as we just got a new place and I need everything.
I’ve never been spoken to. I’ve walked by the desk and browsed around there just waiting to see if I would be spoken to. Nada. Big group of employees gathered around having a good olé’ time.
So both times I drove downtown to Ruibal’s and filled my trunk. Oh wait, I didn’t fill my trunk, the helpful people at Ruibal’s did.
On my last trip home from Ruibal’s I was tempted to drive up to Jackson’s, Pretty Woman style, and say, «I was the one who was in here an hour ago and you wouldn’t speak to». «Big mistake, Big, no huge mistake».
But then I realized there would be no satisfaction in that because they just don’t care. I think I’m done with my stop at Jackson’s, and will just head straight to Ruibals.

Jackson’s is indeed a good place to come and browse. And then leave and buy somewhere else. Not only is Jackson’s fantastically overpriced ($ 1900 for a $ 250 grill? Really?) but it is almost impossible to find someone who knows anything about gardening.
Recently, we decided to redo the landscaping in our back yard, looking to drop several thousand $. Our assumption was that Jackson’s, given their prices and store, would be helpful and knowledgeable and could help us in our new design.
Wrong. We asked one person in the garden area questions about some of the plants. They didn’t know anything and said they would find someone. No luck. Then we asked another. Same thing. Then another. No change. After four people we just gave up. Not only did they not know anything, but they acted like we were bothering them.
I then googled «nursery» to find another. Nicholson-​Hardie was close by on Lover’s Lane, so we stopped in. Immediately we were introduced to a designer (Marcus) who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We spent 1.5 hours with him on the design and dropped almost $ 6K buying new plants. Your loss Jacksons and Nicholson-Hardie’s gain. We never would have moved on if you had a helpful and knowledge staff — and treated us like you actually wanted our business.

Every so often, I start to see myself in a different light. I’ll say to myself… «I am a world class bike rider», «I like to run» — harharhar that was a good one – , «I am good at knitting», etc. Well, this month is «I shall grow my own vegetables a la Michelle Obama and get those gorgeous biceps from tilling earth».
Luckily, my man indulges my crazyness and finances my whims.
So, off we were on my quest to make a great herb and vegetable garden. We were in need of some high quality, not dying looking plants. After cruising around the big guys (Lowes-​t and Home-​y Depot) and being kinda «meh», I took Etienne to Jackson’s for the first time. I’d been there a few times with my mom, wandering around and sighing at the beautiful stuff.
Jackson’s is the mecca for cool ass plants, expensive ass patio furniure, big ass fountains and hot ass grills. Etienne was highly impressed and cursed me for never taking him there before. We were like a couple of kids running around saying «woooaa… lookit that!!». Most of the furniture, while totally stunning, was waaaaay out of our price range. Most sets were more than I make in a month. Seriously. There are awesome grills set up and lots of cool accessories. I like to think of this place as a good spot to get inspiration… then go to Target and try to recreate what I just saw.
We finally made it back outside to the garden area (and to what we came for from the get-​go) and picked up about a dozen plants and herbs. They all looked super healthy and I’m positive they’ll be giving me peppers and tomatoes and chives and basil before we know it. They’ve been in the ground for 3 days and they’re all still looking quite happy. I’ll repost an update once I gots me some veg!

I could spend HOURS in this place. It’s one place that my dude and I can go together. While he is checking out the «man» section (outdoor grills, sauces and rubs, etc), I peruse the extensive home décor section.
They have the BEST selection of fine candles I have seen, holiday décor (pumpkins and wreaths and santas oh my!), ceramic pots, string lights, chimineas, fleur di lis, crosses and I could go on and on.
It’s a bit off the beaten path, but close to Love Field so a great place to browse around while you are waiting for a friend to call and say «I’m here!» The staff is super helpful and friendly — once you check it out, you’ll be back! This is the perfect time to check it out, as you can pick up gifts for everyone on your list. (at least, people who like cooking, decorating their homes and burning really amazing candles!)
