Capital One Bank

This bank provides a full service experience while giving you access to the best online banking one can get. I can’t think of anything better.
First, it’s a bank. So yield is important. And Capital One provides some of the most competitive rates on checking and savings in the market that do not involve opening a loan shark business on the side.
Second, it was nice and easy to open an account. You just need a check (written out to yourself) and an id, really, which is pretty cool. I was a bit disappointed I did not get to use my passport and becasue, you know, I have one, and I brought it. But alas, feeling superior to others who did not bring their passports was not in the cards for me. At least not today.
Third, Capital One has awesome online self-​service options. While the employees were nice, going to a bank is not something I am eager to do. Ever. Particularly in a location that is nearby so many delicious margaritas. Here, they will show you how to make trasnfers, deposits, etc. on your phone, which demystifies online banking. From commercials, I thought online banking was about jumping for joy and playing sports while casually glancing at your phone and seeing a bank logo, but apparently you can actually bank. I suppose while also jumping for joy or playing sports, but I recommend focusing more fully on transactions that involve allocating your net worth.
I guess you could also come here for loans on cars and houses and stuff. But after Citi pulled the rug on me and closed all their Dallas branches, opening a new checking account was enough adulting for me. Capital One was the clear best choice.

Opened an account yesterday for checking and savings and had the best banking experience ever! Brandon and Claudia went beyond the call of duty getting everything setup along with a few technical kinks that crossed our paths. The staff that I encountered here are personable and very down to earth. Definitely did not go by the fake corporate empathy script all bankers are trained to tell customers. Give these ppl a shot.
