This HSA sucks. All it does is take, take take. It’s not helpful, not user friendly, and is frankly pointless. Fuck Benefit Wallet. I hope they burn in hell.

There is no reason to use a remote service like this. You can open an HSA at your local bank, no problem.
BNY /​BenefitWallet has terrible service and horrible business practices. When I tried to transfer the balance to a local HSA, they initially cleared the check, and then when they discovered the balance was 0.00 and they could not charge $ 3.50 service charges, four days later they retro-​actively bounced the check, charging me the $ 3.50 plus $ 25 in NSF fees.
This should be illegal.

This company takes every opportunity to charge you a fee. Customer service service doesn’t seem to have any authority to resolve any issue.
I’m going to move my account to a different bank.

I am having the same experience as Jay below. I have now spent three months fighting with customer service to get my money back after following instructions provided by them about how to do so. This experience has been terrible, time consuming and I still have no idea where my money is. This is unacceptable-​Avoid at all costs.

This company /​bank works with HSA plans. They bank pre-​taxed payroll money for you. They offer to issue a Credit Card /​Master Card and Checks or both to be used for all your government allowed medical, dental and Vision needs.
My experience:
As part of a Cobra option I elected to keep this service. In order to keep this service, I had to start from scratch. My first disappointment, why not just keep ones existing plan /​account in tact? Why start all over?
I received a form which required my Social Security number, signature, Patriot Act demands for a physical address etc. The form also asked the question «if you would like to receive a checkbook please fill in the circle». I DID issue my physical address, but DID NOT fill in the circle for checks. I made a copy of the form before mailing it out and got proof of mailing in case they claimed not to receive it. I viewed my copy before writing this. I most certainly DID NOT fill in the circle requesting checks.
A week later, I receive three (3) separate pieces of mail. One (1) CHECKS (which I did not request). One (1) credit card, which I expected. One (1) letter demanding (again UNDER THE PATRIOT ACT) proof of my address requiring one of the following: Driver’s License, Utility Bill displaying my name and location where the service is provided, Passport with the completed address page, Government issued ID.
I think to myself, OK someone cannot read. I DID not ask for CHECKS and got them and gave them my physical address and now they are asking for proof. I should call them and get this straightened out.
I called the telephone number listed. I select 1 from the electronic menu for account information. The call connection is terrible. I mean terrible it sounded the way long distance calls sound. I again have to prompt through to speak to a human. The woman was polite with an accent (not that that matters but it made me wonder if I in fact was calling another country). I asked what country are you in? The answer Manila, Philippines.
I went through my reason for calling. She then told me I was required to submit one of the documents listed for confirmation of address. I asked why? When my husband had this set up through his work I do not recall him being required to prove where he lived. I then said this is too much work on my part. I told her to cancel the service.
Mailing /​sending my personal information again just feels wrong to me. If proof /​supporting documentation is required, why not request it the first time? By the way, the personal information I was supposed to send as proof of my address was to be mailed to:

For the record, the woman I talked with, Joanna was very patient and polite, but she was not armed with all the answers I needed. She had to place me on hold a couple of times to speak with someone else before she could answer my questions.
Bottom line, the service is provided through a BANK, as always they are all about protecting themselves while using our money. The scary thing is, there are too many people with access to our personal information. I’ll pass on this service. It seems FSA and HSA programs seem to be very much alike when it comes to service and our information protection, they are 1 star at best.
