Business Owner

Donna is a Certified Personal Chef accredited with the United States Personal Chef Association and a graduate of the Culinary Business Academy. Chef Donna created Your Plate or Mine as an opportunity to meet interesting foodies and to prepare restaurant-​inspired cuisine for them.

A former elementary teacher and administrator, she also enjoys teaching recreational cooking classes, as well as professional student courses.

Chef Donna catered brunch for us and our friends and family the day after our wedding and it was awesome! Her applewood smoked bacon had me and one of our guests arm wrestling for the last piece, her egg frittata was perfectly cooked (even though we started late), the cheesy potatoes were divine and she even brought us a bonus gluten-​free lemon cake since I am allergic to wheat and couldn’t eat the yummy looking coffee cake. Everyone was so happy with the food and I was thrilled not to be cooking! And Chef Donna was so sweet she even brought us a sample of her paleo-​grain-​free granola when she came to pick up her dishes. I highly recommend her!

Where do I start 1st!
I needed help at the last minute for my daughters pre prom party, I was beginning to feel overwhelmed with all the planning, I contacted Chef Donna and she put my worries to ease, she gave me some great suggestions, and we set the date!
Her sou chef Alex was great!

Amazing! Chef Donna cooked for a small birthday dinner party held at our home last week, and all I can say is amazing. She and her sous chef were wonderful, the food fantastic, they were professional, tidy and a lot of fun. I can’t wait to use them again!

Add me to the list of fans of Chef Donna. I had the pleasure of experiencing one of her dinner parties for 8 close friends for a recent birthday celebration at my home. Having never had the good sense to hire a chef for such an event in the past I was all prepared to be exhausted as I usually am after in home entertaining. But this was not the case this time. Chef D did all of the prep work, cooking and cleanup. She didn’t let me or my partner lift a finger– we only had to lift our forks. She designed a creative Asian meal that seemed ambitious at first, but she and her sous chef totally nailed it. She chose a ginger theme that ran throughout the entire meal doen to the poached pear dessert infused with red wine and ginger served with a crème anglaise sauce. We were served an amazing appetizer while we had drinks and then three additional courses followed. The highlight was the cashew chicken — one of my personal favorites. The entire meal was healthy and impressed my guests with the exotic and wonderful flavors. I cannot recommend Chef Donna highly enough. I will be a repeat customer!

As a lazy bachelor I got tired of trying to cook for myself. I felt I was best served by having someone come in every couple of weeks and prepare healthy meals for me that I could freeze, and would be ready to eat.
I found Donna after doing a web search and I could tell from her website that she was a pro. Her food is great and she aims to please. She does all of the shopping, and even picks up odds and ends that I need for myself. She arrives fully prepared and spends the entire day cooking and preparing the healthy meals for me.
If you are looking for someone to be your personal chef, cater an intimate dinner or a party, you won’t go wrong. Great food, Great Service, and reasonable prices.

I recently had a small party and wanted to let someone else handle the food. I found YPOM here on Unilocal,and took a leap of faith. I’m so glad as Chef Donna was amazing. We planned the menu ahead of time, and then she along with her colleague Lori came to my place and took over the kitchen. This left me time to handle everything else. It was a treat. Food was awesome too. The night turned out swell, thanks to YPOM!

OK, when’s the last time you were so excited about a food experience that you rushed home, postponed sleep to write your review? Not since you believed in Santa? Me too, until tonight.
I deem this a Christmas miracle, as what were the odds the party I attended would be catered by Chef Barrow? It’s been years since I enjoyed her kitchen wizardry.
Tonight’s light bites pleased every palate from the Sweet & Sour Glazed Chicken Sausage
to the Achiote Chicken & Pineapple Skewers
to the delicate Bangkok Shrimp in Wonton Crisps
to the quality carbo-​loaded, Tuscan Farfalle Pasta Salad
, as well as, the Sundried Tomato Pesto Crostinis
.
And because good things come in small packages, the Salted Caramel Double Chocolate Brownies
capped the evening’s festivities on high note!

All of the above apply to me, and I can’t think of anyone more capable to service my personal chef needs than Chef Donna. There is not one thing she’s made that I have not absolutely LOVED!!! In fact I polished off a healthy portion of her Shrimp and Orzo pasta tonight. It was TOUGH leaving some for lunch tomorrow. (I will be counting down the minutes ’til it’s lunch time) Hope I am productive in the morning! **LOL**
Seriously Donna’s food is really that good. Delicious, healthy and very much worth it. Whether you try her Dinner Solutions Plans or have her help you with an elegant at home dinner party, Donna is officially MY go to solution.
