Jay Shery, DC

I really love this guy.
I have seen Dr. Shery for two separate issues and he has helped me greatly with them…
Here goes:
My first issue started due to an abusive job that I had that required 7 day work weeks with 12 hours per day (minimum) sitting in a chair and writing software. The human body isn’t meant to sit like that. Eventually, I started experiencing terrifyingly painful back spasms (3−5x a week for HOURS of agony each time) that would cause me to have to go to the bathroom (or feel like it — DID I MENTION I ALSO HAVE IBS?). My primary care doctor, Dr. Schechter advised that I see a chiropractor to help me rehabilitate my back, or to try to provide me some non-​drug-​based relief (I don’t like very serious drugs that only mask the problems). He didn’t specifically say that I should see Dr. Shery, but I was already in the same office, so I went over to see Dr. Shery, who, oddly, I picked him because of his last name. My mother’s side of the family had the surname Sherry, for the longest time, so I felt this was a good omen.
I’m a big dude (6’3″ and about 200 lbs or more), but this guy looks like he could twist me into a pretzel. He’s a big guy. Soft-​spoken. Non-​judgmental. Those were my first impressions. My first visit there was incredible. Lots of back cracking going on. I like how they hooked me up to a TENS unit and had me lay face down while getting my back heated up before the adjustments.
He also prescribed me various exercises I could do to help things. After seeing him (and also keeping my crappy job), my back spasms lessened to 1 – 2 times a week, and less in severity. After extended time seeing him, my back spasms pretty much went away. The final solution was to quit my job. I finally had quit my job, and continued seeing him, preventatively, for a little while.
I haven’t had a back spasm in a long time. I haven’t needed to see him regularly, either. He helped me. Sometimes I think the best doctors are the ones that fix you and send you on your way… that you never have to see again. Maybe, I’ll need some maintenance work from time to time, but I seem stable now.
Now, for the other reason I saw him… I hurt my thumb in judo. I had seriously jammed the thing. I was searching the internet to see what to do about it. One of the «root-​cause solutions» I saw was for a chiropractor to work on it, so I gave him a call. He worked with my hand, specifically my thumb, and did some adjustments. I felt a little clicking during the adjustment, and it’s a few days later, and my thumb is much better. Hell, it was 50% better just after leaving his office.
I really recommend this guy!

I have been going to Dr. Jay Shery’s Office for the past 8 weeks. I have to tell you I have had the best experience ever at a medical office. Jacquie, Dr. Shery and entire team are professional, efficient and provide the most friendly, effective service. They even sent me a Holiday Card after my 2^nd week of working with them.
The moment I arrive, I am greeted immediately and my wait time is very minimal. Their follow up with insurance is outstanding. They do the leg work so that I do not have to. We all know how fun it is to deal with medical insurances.
The Chiropractic Services that I have received is outstanding. I have a lower back pain and after each session I feel better. I have seem major improvements in my back pain since I have been going to this office. Dr. Shery gives great recommendations and advice after each session. He seems very experiences and knowledgeable in all areas of his work. He is willing to listen and answer questions. He never seems to rush me and takes the time to follow through on all of my requests.
I highly suggest Dr. Shery for your Chiropractic Service.

Dr. Shery is responsive to needs, gentle, affordable, takes Medicare patients, which is huge for me. His staff, and massage therapists are great. 28 January 2013

Doctor Shery was referred to me after my chiropractor retired. His office is close to home and always easy to get in at the last minute, when I have a knot in my neck or back. 30 minutes and I’m done, feeling much better. I would highly recommend his services, I just wish the office was open Saturdays, but then again I guess he does need some days off!

Dr Shery is an awsome Chiropractor. He is gentle, caring and efective. The office staff are attentive and easy to work with. It should be pointed out that it is not responsability of the Dr office to deal with slow or no Ins payments or convoluted araingments.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with this office!
After being in an auto accident, I looked for a chiropractor close to home. I tried this office because it was near my apartment at the time. I would NOT recommend this office or It’s services. I had sprained my neck/​back in the accident. I did not get any relief from the adjustments. I was also treated with disrespect.
Since being involved in an accident, I had to also deal with my insurance and a lien for my medical bills. After a few weeks of visits and receiving adjustments, I didn’t feel any relief from them and the pain persisted. I decided to go to a physical therapist instead and was the best decision I could have made.
I received from what I considered harassing phone calls from This office looking for payment of services. I believed it to be on a lien (meaning he gets paid when the at-​fault driver’s insurance pays up). They claimed to not have agreed to it, but that was the only other reason why I chose this office. I could not find my paperwork, so there is no proof of signing one. Ok… I received many phone calls from the office for payment. I was told that I had $ 1000 in Med Pay from my insurance that they could use. They said they tried and that my insurance company wouldn’t authorize because I stated to my insurance company to do so. Which is not the case.
I repeatedly got phone calls from this office. I tried speaking with this office and letting them know that my insurance wouldn’t approve of that Med Payment because of legal issues. They needed to go through my attorney. This place responded with a lawsuit for the payment instead. I was getting sued by an office that was supposed to have been helping me in my time of need. Nice bedside manner! Not only did I get served papers one morning, I also was being threatened that I was going to be sued for my first Unilocal review for libel by Dr. Shery (which I took down for fear of being sued and the headache of such). You cannot be sued for libel when it’s the truth!
My opinion would be to avoid this office and run the other way. My experience should be enough of a warning!

Dr. Shery is a great chiropractor. He makes sure you leave feeling better than when you came. He is sympathetic to emergencies, too, and will get you in asap if at all possible. I’ve been a patient for many years and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
