EDGE-UP Barbershop kiosk is an innovative barber salon created with the busy and modern client in mind and will revolutionize the way customers get their hair cut. Without sacrificing quality or service, EDGE UP offers clients a quick and simple way to get their hair cut or styled by licensed professionals. EDGE-UP caters to a diverse clientele made up men, women and children from varying cultures.

EDGE-UP also has developed hair and skin products which are available for purchase exclusively at each location.

History

Established in 2011.

Founder, Owner and General Manager, Percy S approached Westfield Shopping Center regarding opening an «open-air» barbershop kiosk in their Culver City shopping center. He developed the idea from start to finish in collaboration with Westfield; developing a business model, kiosk design, and developing a hair and skin care product line.

The goal is to build a successful company and to revolutionize the way people, particularly men, get their hair cut. Percy believes EDGE-UP fills a niche missing in today’s modern «Main Street, USA», the shopping mall, while still capturing the essence of a traditional barbershop. In offering convenient barbering services, hair and skin care products without sacrificing quality or outstanding customer service, creates a win-win situation for both customers and the company.

Meet the Business Owner

Percy S.

Business Owner

Founder, Percy Souder, Jr. relied on his more than twelve years of experience as a barber and business owner to imagine, but more notably to design and create EDGE-UP. Mr. Souder had the foresight to recognize that malls are becoming «Main Street, USA» and carried out his plan to set up shop. In a LA Times article dated November 12, 2011, Mr. Souder was quoted as saying, «I figured instead of waiting for the people to come to me, I’d go to the people. I’ve stolen many a client from his barber, and that’s not because I’m so much better than everyone else, but because I’m convenient.»
