Since 1980, Mitchel Berman, M.F.A. has been hand crafting beautiful Furniture and Cabinetry for Home and Business. With a life long study of the world’s fine art and decorative traditions, Mr. Berman brings a practiced and refined vision to his work. We pride ourselves on our ability to translate our client’s ideas into works of beauty and utility. Rare and Exotic Hardwoods, Fine Veneers, Inlay Work, Carving, Custom Molding and Detailing, Hand Rubbed and Polished Finishes, and careful Craftsmanship are essential to the unique projects that we create.

Established in 1980.

Established in 1985 Mitchel Berman Cabinetmakers Inc is one of the finest and most experienced Custom Cabinet and Furniture shops in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are known for Artistic and Technical excellence in the design, fabrication and installation of custom cabinetry and furniture of all types. We work with some of the best Interior Designer and Architects in the Bay Area.

We were located on Sir Francis Drake blvd in Larkspur for 17 years from 1985 to 2003. More recently we have located our Workshop in Cotati where we enjoy a large, brightly lit workshop equipped with the finest in woodworking machinery.

Mitchel Berman MFA is an Allied member of the America Society of Interior Designers, ASID and is actively involved in the interior design community.

With a life long study of the world’s decorative and Fine Art traditions he is skilled at designing and fabricating custom Cabinetry and Furniture.

Sought after by some of the Bay Area’s leading Architects and Designers for his refined vision, design skills and business professionalism as well as technical expertise and craftsmanship.

We take our work seriously and give each project our full attention from start to finish.

We wanted to create an English style library in our home and luckily found Mitchel’s web site. He met with us — understood our needs — and came back with suggestions. During this process we had a flood of water in our home — causing us to replace all kitchen cabinets, flooring and appliances. Mitchel not only created a design for the library — but also one for kitchen cabinets and countertops and one to update the bathrooms as well as a desk for the library. Design does not really cover it well enough — design coupled with personal advice on wood choices, finish choices, hardware (jewelry in Mitch’s language) — every detail was thought of and covered including the relationship of the his creations to the rest of our home and furniture
Mitchel listens, creates and proposes, listens again until the design is perfect — then he and his team transform this vision into beautiful wood sculpture.
Professional, courteous, caring, creative, artistic all describe Mitchel and the team he has put together. They are adream team to work with.
In the end — we have a beautiful custom designed library, desk, kitchen cabinets, and bathroom cabinets and mirrors and a beautiful space to savor and share with our friends. We have received countless compliments and enjoy living with these wonderful creations every day.

We had Mitchel modify a built in cabinet in our family room. The job entailed adding a new cabinet to the existing structure and replacing some of the existing cabinet doors to match and compliment another built in cabinet in the same room. We also added an alcove for a large flat screen TV with an articulating mount with all of the equipment and wires completely hidden. The final design and finished cabinet looked like it had been originally built at the same time the other cabinets were installed. The updated cabinet also looked like it had been originally designed for the flat screen and hidden equipment all along. Mitch completed the job on the scheduled date without any delays or problems. We are thrilled with the final product and can’t recommend Mitch Berman Cabinetmakers highly enough.

Recently we completed an extensive remodel of our residence. We contracted with Mitchel Berman Cabinetmakers to construct and install several cabinets within our kitchen, baths, and walk-​in closet. Mitchel Berman completed all the work on schedule and at the agreed upon price. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and proudly show the finished product to friends. As with remodels, several subcontractors were involved in the various stages. Due to Mitchel Berman’s excellent communication skills, ability to evaluate situations, and great patience, his involvement with other subcontractors was nothing but productive. If you are considering new cabinets and demand quality, you have to contact Mitchel Berman Cabinetmakers.

Mitch was attentive, patient and with a lot of attention to details.
We were looking for a cabinet maker for a while but didn’t want the «factory» look.
With Mitch we truly felt like we are working with a professional artist. He helped us figure out exactly what we wanted to achieve and he delivered on time and with great care. The work is absolutely amazing.
We started with the cabinets in our kitchen and finished with an amazing custom hand made large dining room table that was done by mitch and his team in their workshop near Petaluma.
I can’t recommend him enough.
