I have been using The Shade Shop for several years. I have had them make me shades AND repair shades. I logged on to get their phone number since I have a really old roman shade that needed to be re-strung and was so bummed to see these reviews! I have had nothing but great, personalized and professional services from this shop. It is a small biz and they do have to sometimes leave the shop for installs but each time I have called they clearly state on the updated phone message when they will return and I have always gotten a call back. The blinds that they have made for us are lovely and always work great. Their installers also hang them straight the first time. I love supporting small, local biz! Such a great shop!

Attempted to shop here but when I arrived it was CLOSED when it was supposed to be open until 5pm. What a waste of my time. No sign on the door with a reason why. Will not waste my time coming back.

This place provides great service. I had a three year old electric shade that was broken and they fixed it for free and even threw in a free bracket. Tad is a great guy. If you want one of those blinds that you operate with a remote, definitely go The Shade Shop. You won’t be disappointed.

I had two different shops install blinds in my home and did a comparison. I would NOT recommend The Shade Shop to anyone. Quality of craftsmanship for The Shade Shop: Poor. Seam lines were highly unattractive, had larger than necessary holes, and the threading was loose. the bottom of the shade had an opening with the wood panel visible and it was ugly. The other shop sewed up the sides so that it hides the wood panel. Quality of hardware for The Shade Shop: Poor. The plastic components looked cheap and did not hold up well. The plastic drawstring was flimsy and small compared to the other shop’s hardware. The drawstring came off of the clutch after using it for a week. Literally sitting in the dark waiting for them to send out guys for repair cause the shades are stuck. Quality of service for The Shade Shop: Poor. Tad is the owner and Hanna is his daughter. Both are not very responsive. It was difficult to reach them over the phone. Left messages and they did not always call back. They take a day or two to respond to email… if they respond. It took more than 6 weeks from the deposit to the time they gave me an install date. I had to email and call a few times to get them to commit. I requested options to make me happier with my purchase but they declined and said that their product and hardware is of better quality than competitors. I asked for a discount, or a change in material, or a repair and they would not do any of the options.
Price of The Shade Shop: Expensive. If the material, craftsmanship, or after sales service was better I wouldn’t mind paying more. They charge 50% more than places like House of Blinds, Blind Pro, or Budget Blinds. Store Front of The Shade Shop: Poor. I went into their shop and the set up is messy and samples looked outdated. That should have tipped me off right there. Installation: Good. The install guys arrived on time. Very polite and courteous. They worked fast. The only bad thing was that they left marks on my wall. I do not recommend The Shade Shop to anyone. You will be overpaying for low quality shades and low level of service. They will not work with you to try to resolve any of your issues. They will keep telling you«it’s suppose to be like that». This is sad because I love to support local and small businesses. In this case, I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere.

Called about getting some blinds restrung and the person whom answered the phone was not very friendly… in fact very rude when I told him that I was referred to him by Home Depot. This guy happened to be the owner. Went out of my way to find some one else in the industry to do my blinds. I would not use this company for anything now. First impressions are very important in business and unfortunately this business owner doesn’t have a clue.
