This place is awesome. I used to work her back in November 2015 and can say even after leaving this is the only smoke shop chain I go to

I don’t know what’s happened to this place but it totally sucks now. I’ve been in there a few times in the last few months and the guys are always stoned. Like I get it, you work at a smoke shop but be a little professional. You’d think that since the employees are high the majority of the time they’d be courteous and their customer service would be on point but unfortunately it’s exactly the opposite. They’re incredibly rude, condescending and flat out lazy. Next time when you have a customer who buys something and it’s stops working within days of walking out of your store you should try a little harder to accommodate them.

Just quite smoke and have little to no patients. I Went to get a vaporizer and Evan who helped me was awesome. Super nice and knowledgeable on what I was looking for he was there on Saturday long hair. Best experience I have had yet at a vap shop. He had a box mod and even took the time to explain how it worked and advised since I was trying to quite smoke that the vaporizer I was interested in was better for me then spending more than I need to on a box mod. Most def with come here again.

I am a novice in using medical marijuana. I had tried smoking it, but it hurt my lungs too much. So I went to Purple Haze because it was close to home to ask about a water pipe. I paid $ 100 for a good quality water pipe, and made sure to ask before I bought it if there was any chance at all that my lungs would be too sensitive to use it. He assured me that would not happen, because all the toxins in the smoke would be filtered through the water before reaching my lungs. I tried it that night, and had a serious lung reaction — my lungs hurt for hours. I know it wasn’t the quality of the marijuana, because I purchased it from a high quality local grower who grows only the purest medicinal marijuana, and I only used a very small amount and inhaled only once.
Since I bought the pipe, I’ve been trying to speak to the owner about my grievance, but he will not return my calls. So I asked to speak with a manager, but was told that I would have to come into the store on a day that a manger was there, but he could not tell me when a manager would be there, so I would just have to keep trying to catch a manager.
I feel like I was misled by the sales person who sold me the water pipe, because I specifically told him I had very sensitive lungs. I know they have a «no return policy» on these items, but I feel because I was assured this pipe would not make my lungs react adversely, they should take it back.
I have disputed this transaction with my credit card company, and am hoping that I will be successful in reversing the charge.
I am writing this review to warn other novices about this store. I know there are probably not many of us, but I think it’s important to let people who have serious health issues know that they have to be very careful about what store they choose to do business with.
I would definitely not recommend this store.

Stopped in to check their costa Mesa location out and was pleasantly surprised! It’s a small store, but tons of stuff. I wasn’t even planning to buy something but Hayden (spelling?) talked me into a new little oil rig.
I’ve seen the simba pipes before but I hadn’t seen this yet. It’s a little honey themed oil rig that was on sale. I couldn’t pass it up. He gave me a bunch of raffle tickets for their upcoming raffle on the ⁹⁄₂₆ but I don’t even live around here. I just gave them to another customer walking in as I was leaving.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. For years I have seen this place switch ownership due to poor salesmanship and sketchy dealings. Hell, they used to do whip-​its in front of customers on the reg. I stopped by today to grab cigs and it was the same old poor service. I asked the young a*****e if he they sold cigarettes and he said, «you want an e cig?» I repeated myself clearly and he thought himself cute and said it again. And again, and again. Then another customer said they don’t have them man, but there’s a gas station across the street. Just solidified my disdain for this horrible eye sore in an already shanty town strip mall. Go anywhere but here!

Love the glass work that the shop sells. They also help you with exactly what you are looking for. I shop here a lot.

This place used to be cool. Staff constantly now tries to upsell when I come in for a simple item and won’t stop trying after you say no. Dude leave me alone. Also, this place has charged my credit card multiple times, the last time during their stupid raffle where they have 80 people in the store and give away only one item that they tell you at the last second has a defect. When I bought my item the guy said my card didn’t go thru and ran it thru 2 more times. I check my statement and it went thru every single time. Went back to my statements of my earlier visits. Same scam. These guys are crooks, won’t be back. Go somewhere else.

Great shop. Has everything you need and great service and friendly knowledgeable staff. Come for the raffles!

Service here isn’t something I’d want to deal with again. They have a pretty nice selection but pretty expensive pieces. If you enjoy being pushed (over and over) into purchasing something then this is the place for you.

This is the best place to buy all your vapor needs! Private parking in the back and best specials and prices in town!

Best smoke shop I’ve been to in the OC area! The guys are rad and helpful. All products are high quality for an unbeatable price! Mad love for this shop! First time visiting Alan helped me find a good flavor for my vap. I might have tried every flavor before actually deciding on one. But he didn’t seem to mind and was a pleasure to talk to!
My memory is shot but pretty the gentleman working tonight was Robert. He was patient, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Thanks for all your help again man!

Just returned from a few days in LA and found this shop. AWESOME! I picked up a vapor blunt pinnacle and at a great price too! The guy behind the counter, I think his name was Lewis, was also REALLY helpful. He gave me a great deal and was very knowledgeable about the products and which to recommend. Used it right when I got back to my place and its worked great ever since. This place is the bomb.
I’m from SF and I wish we had places like this up here. So much selection and good prices. Not sure what the other folks below are talking about, but it seems like whatever staff they had encountered has been replaced. No complaints here!!!

Went here a while back — I don’t understand why purple haze exists. It’s over priced, has a crap selection, and the tweaky black dude behind the counter tried to peddle me black market porn. You can find a better smoke shop a block either way.
Also, ”it’s in Costa Mesa” is a HORRIBLE reason to pay more for something.

Shit selection and shit prices. Period.
Here’s a tip for the employees working here: standing around in front of your place of business, smoking cigarettes and looking like a typical HB bro-​douche doesn’t exactly make people want to walk in and browse your merch. I realize you’re probably super excited that your job requires you to only punch a couple register keys between bong hits in the back room, but present yourselves more professionally and people might be more inclined to shop here.
After you lower your ridiculous prices, of course.
