Dhurga Reddy

I lived in Portland for four years where I used a naturopath doctor, and when I moved to California, I tried several other «regular» doctors for both regular needs, as well as female needs, who just didn’t seem to care all that much about me as a person, and were often quick to prescribe things. Having a family history of addition, prescriptions were not really something I wanted to go forward with. So, I returned to seeing a naturopath, and I am very pleased with Dr. Reddy, and her approach to medicine. She looks at you as a whole, not just your ailments. She takes emotion and activity into account and how that can affect you physically and attempts to address them first before going forward with something more serious.
Dr. Reddy gave me a list of supplements to take, which I was open to, because my last naturopath had already started me on that, and it worked thus far for me.

I came to see Dr Reddy after the advice of my physical therapist, around 5 months after having my 3^rd child. Due to the nature of pregnancy and childbirth I was experiencing energy depletion, fatigue, poor sleep, headaches, anxiety, and the like. I have received naturopathic care in the past with a Dr in San Diego but since living in Orange County I had yet to find another Natural doctor whom I trusted. After my first appointment with her I was put at ease and confident that my ailments weren’t «worst case» scenario. She ordered a few tests for me and when they were in, she spent quality time helping to explain to me where my body was at and how we were able to restore it. Through diet, supplements, suggestions on lifestyle changes to improve sleep and «prescribed» breathing :) I have felt so much better. Her calm demeanor and willingness to listen and gently educate you on your body and how it all works is invaluable. This is personally why I will ALWAYS choose natural care over conventional medicine. Dr. Reddy looks at the root of the issue in order to heal rather than just treating the symptom and for me that where true wisdom lies. I’ve never felt rushed or a burden in her office as she has insured to spend the appropriate time with me so my time and money is well spent. I trust her advice, wisdom and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a healthy well being. And if you’re concerned about the price, what is more important than investing your money into your body and your health. It’s the only thing you can guarantee that you’ll be walking into the future with. I can confidently say that Dr Reddy is worth every penny!

I have been under the care, as well as my 7 year old daughter, of Dr. Reddy for almost a year now. She has helped us out with a variety of issues. She is very thorough, and gentle, and welcomes questions and patient understanding. I also really like her attention to the emotional side of physical ailments. I don’t feel like she pushes supplements at all, but has very specific reasons for prescribing what she does. I feel a million times better since being under the care of Dr. Reddy, and as a mom, confident that under her care my daughter can receive optimal health care that aligns with our values. She is very available for minor questions in between appointments via the ‘patient portal’.

My 13 year old daughter received great care with Dr. Dhurga Reddy. When she was having emotional fears and challenges, a conversation with Dr. Dhurga put her at ease, and the supplements that she suggested have been so useful for our daughter.

Dr Reddy is fantastic! I had never visited a wholistic doctor before but was beyond frustrated with traditional healthcare in figuring out what was going wrong in my body. If I’d continued with any of the general practitioners I’d seen previously I would currently be on at least 5 prescription medications. I’ve been seeing her for over a year now and cannot say enough good things! She patiently describes how everything impacts your entire body and is understanding of even the smallest concerns and questions. Dr Reddy quickly discovered I had several autoimmune issues and referred me to great specialists when necessary. She worked together with them to come up with a wholistic treatment plan and prescribed supplements and diet recommendations that helped all of my issues and didn’t just focus on treating each problem individually. It was a struggle figuring out what was going on with my body, none of my health issues are clear-​cut textbook cases, but she made it so easy for me. One year later I feel amazing and am learning to trust in my body again. I refer everyone to Dr Reddy and am so glad to have found her during this difficult time in my life.

I saw Dr. Reddy several months ago, and while she takes time to explain things, I felt like she pushed a lot of the supplements/​treatments on me, and when I emailed her because of some hesitations I had about taking certain supplements, she told me we would talk about it at my next appointment. You seriously want me to pay $ 100+ for another appointment just for you to answer my question?
Additionally, some of the advice she gave me was a little questionable. I have not been back since my first follow up appointment with her, and I do not plan on going back.

I love Dr Reddy, she is amazing! I was having lots of ailments, but the worst one was stomach pain. No matter what I ate, I was in constant pain. Dr Reddy designed a program that truly healed my stomach in a few months and now my tummy is totally fine. Now we are working on improving my severe pms and chronic fatigue and I am seeing some real improvements. The modern medicine approach to «healthcare» in this country is a total disaster. Most doctors give you a 10 minute appointment, then take the easy way out and give you rx drugs to mask your symptoms. Meanwhile the side effects cause a plethora of other health problems. They are never concerned about healing the root cause. How can you assess anyone’s health in 10 minutes? You can’t. Dr Reddy spends a great deal of time getting to know you and trying to figure out what is going on with your health. She has such a patient, warm, gentle energy about her and it’s very easy to open up to her. I feel like I can ask her anything. I love the way she explains things in detail, she doesn’t treat you like you are an idiot. She is extremely intelligent, much sharper than any other dr I’ve seen. I was nervous about seeing a naturopath because I had heard they can cost thousands of dollars and overcharge for supplements. That is not the case here, her charges are reasonable, especially when you consider how long the appointments are. Her supplements are great quality and they are not marked up at all and she even recommends some products that she does not carry. Some greedy places will just want to sell you the brands and products that they have on hand to sell you. She is very ethical and truly cares about your well-​being, so you don’t have to worry about getting taken advantage of or ripped off. I am now trying to get other family members to go see her.

Dr. Reddy is the best doctor I’ve ever had the privilege of seeing.
Dr. Reddy is a true scientist: someone who observes patients as unique individuals, assesses their symptoms in the light of empirical evidence, diagnoses possible reasons, recommends a range of treatments, narrows down the diagnosis through extensive tests, and focuses on short– and long-​term plans for patients’ recovery and ongoing health. Dr. Reddy does all this, and does a phenomenal job. She doesn’t waste your time or your money. And she does it all with grace, humor, insight, compassion, and generosity. She’s the best thing that ever happened to my health! I can’t imagine how I survived without her; and now that I’ve had the fortune to find her, I can actually look forward to a life not filled with ailments. I went to her for a skin problem, and she diagnosed and cured a range of systemic conditions and complaints that mainstream doctors had claimed inexplicable or non-​existent.
I had never received naturopathic treatment before. Although I had many friends who swear by natural and holistic healing practices, I had, for reasons of expediency and budget, simply stuck with the mainstream «scientific professionals» to whom I was automatically assigned through my HMO. After years of chronic health problems, I decided to find a serious doctor who cared about my health rather than about some HMO’s bottom line. It was fully worth it; and I do now pay, out of pocket, the costs for treatment that my insurance provider can’t or won’t provide. I consider it well worth the cost, considering the negative costs of bad health, lost wages, pain and suffering.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful this doctor is. Run, don’t walk, if you possibly can get to her. You’ll never look back. I’ve recommended her to family and friends across the country. She does skype consultations, too!

It makes so much sense to use natural methods to take care of ourselves and heal ourselves. I highly recommend Dr. Reddy. I had a chronic condition and felt very secure in her hands. I also believe in the patient being involved and being your own advocate. As other reviewers have stated it is such a nice experience going to her office! It is so calming and if I was having a hectic day I would calm down quickly from the moment I entered the door. I have been researching holistic and integrative health for years and consider myself pretty knowledgeable. Along with people like Dr. Reddy I have managed to heal myself and stay healthy without any prescription drugs or treatments. She takes our health very seriously and is very approachable and easy to talk to. The first visit was so refreshing with no wait and no commotion. She takes time to learn all about you and you are not rushed. You will have time to ask your questions! Don’t think that Dr. Reddy can’t take care of things like a «regular» doctor, because she can. If you are hesitant to go to a Naturopath just go for a consultation and see for yourself.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Reddy since March of this year. I went to her with severe allergy problems, having had 2 sinus surgeries, countless sinus infections and allergy medicines — nothing seemed to be working. The quality length of time with her for the first appointment and subsequent have allowed her to educate me on how the body works, what she believes is going on in my body and how we can come up with a treatment plan that is manageable for me. It is an out of pocket expense that with traditional insurance many of us are not used to, but it’s not like any appointment/​treatment you’ve ever received before! I can tell you from first hand it’s worth it! Not having to feel rushed to get my questions in within 10 minutes is wonderful on its own, but what’s even better… I’m seeing results! For the first time in my life I haven’t taken an allergy drug in over 2 months, I got through all the dry winds and traveling which normally make me feel miserable and instead, I’m feeling healthier than ever! I’m learning so much and positively effecting my health in the direction I want it to go. My diet was a big thing that I was asked to change and I literally cried in the appt. bc I knew what it would take, especially in our culture of convenience… but I did it and boy am I glad! Dr. Reddy walked beside me and we rejoiced together when I emailed her how happy, almost giddy I was with the change, amazed at the 360 turn I had taken. I feel comfortable to talk about everything that is going on and confident that she is looking at the whole picture and bringing helpful solutions to my health concerns, not a band aid or rush a pill on me like I’ve often felt in the traditional system. I look forward to my visits with her — when did you ever want to got to the Dr? :)

I run a mommy and me program in Orange County based around support, discussion and friendship for new moms and I have Dr. Reddy speak in every one of my class series. I also see her personally and she has done for me what no other doctor has ever done. The amount of time she spends with me is incredible and she never makes me feel rushed or that I am less important than other patients (which I typically feel in other practices).
She helped pinpoint for me certain things that would trigger adverse reactions and cause undesirable symptoms. She spent so much time educating me on the «why» not just the «how» to get rid of something. She gives so many resources and wonderful tips on how to feel better and stay better. She is so knowledgeable and so passionate about what she does. It’s infectious and motivating to want to continue to do and feel better.
Her demeanor is so calm and she is so easy to approach. Not only do I love seeing her but I always get such wonderful feedback from the moms in my groups. I also know a few moms who have taken their children to her and have had such great experiences and have seen great results.
I would highly, highly recommend seeing Dr. Reddy for anything and everything! She has made such a huge impact on me and has really encouraged me to learn more about my health so I can feel the best.

Seeing Dr. Reddy for me is a brand new experience in terms of visiting Doctor’s Office. She never keeps you waiting, and she really takes the time to get to know you in terms of your emotional well-​being, habits, concerns, and symptoms. Instead of just treating what appears wrong, she treats the root causes of illnesses.
Dr. Reddy takes her time explaining why the body acts a certain way, and how she plans to treat the issue. It really helped me to be more involved in my own healing process, rather than just taking a bunch of prescription drugs.

I have had three sessions with Dr. Dhurga Reddy (nowadays by phone since she moved away from my area), and with each one I’ve been increasingly impressed with her. She has a very sharp mind, really knows Naturopathic Medicine, and keeps up with recent research. She explains her reasoning very clearly, and everything she’s suggested to me has made so much sense. Most importantly, I’ve noticed – and a lab test verified – positive changes resulting from her recommendations. (I love the naturopathic approach of helping the body to heal itself.)

Dr. Reddy is incredible. We battled with some pretty serious issues with my son for 3 ½ years of his life, treating symptoms, but never figuring out what the underlying problem was. On our first visit with Dr. Reddy, she thought she might have an idea what that problem was, and she was right. She has literally changed our lives for the better.
Now, my entire family of 5 sees her. At our visits she always makes us seem like we are her only patients, showing genuine interest and providing time that does not feel rushed at all.
I have already recommended dozens of people to Dr. Reddy and I will continue to do so!
