We have had umpteen plumbers come to «unclog» our kitchen sink Every few months and then weeks, it would be backed up again. We called Plumbing Solutions the other day and they said the problem was the plumbing under the house. Evidently, the home was built with ineffective plumbing… he proceeded to crawl under the house (something I’m sure no one else wanted to do, never mind diagnose) and reinstall new piping. He even snaked out 30 years of backed up debris. All with great customer service! That was unexpected. The price was a bit high but worthwhile as I don’t think we’ll be needing another plumber for a while. If we do, I would definitely call Plumbing Solutions!

There’s no zero STAR here, and I wish I would give them negatives star. After reading all the great review this morning and I request a quote in the morning at 7:45AM which said respond in ONE hour but never did. I just call them now and the guy said we are all book until MONDAY; I am sure I need to take my business else where.

Mike and Leo came to my home and found a plumbing leak and solved the problem. They were knowledgeable, friendly, showed-​up on time, and charged a very fair price. I then purchased a new toilet and had them come back two days later and install it. Mike’s phone number is now in my cell phone and he’s my plumber. Couldn’t be more satisfied !

Great service! Mike and Leo came out not once, but three times. Very professional and knowledgable about their trade. Their expert advice about facets (their respective performance quality) has likely saved my family from a possibly expensive future disappointment. Highly recommend!

I called Plumbing Solutions after reading all the incredibly positive reviews but ended up being sorely disappointed. I called them to service a plumbing issue, which caused my toilet to bubble when the washer was draining. Mike was sent out and after performing some tests, he concluded that the back up was caused by a stopped up sewer line, which he then proceeded to «clean out». He then showed me a video of the line, which was loaded with roots, had one enormous root ball, and several really «bad» spots according to him. Lucky for me though, he said, I would be a candidate to have the line replaced without having to dig a trench – for a mere $ 10,000! And it really needed replacing now because, according to him, with El Nino approaching, the pipe could collapse due to the slippery soil which would result from all the rain and I’d end up with an even bigger, more expensive job on my hands.
I then got to work emailing the video he’d given me of my sewer to other plumbers and a soils engineer. One of the plumbers said, «That’s exactly what all the other sewer pipes in your neighborhood look like. Just have it cleaned out every year!» Another gave me the same advice saying, «I wouldn’t have that pipe replaced if it were mine!» He works for a company which specializes in replacing sewer lines, so I hired him to come out and actually look at it with his own equipment. First off, he was appalled that it had been «cleaned out» as it was so loaded with roots that part of it was 80% blocked. He then assured me he would be able to totally clear it. Secondly, and more importantly, he confirmed that all it really needed was regular maintenance. The soils engineer concurred saying it was possible that wet soil could load up a sewer line enough to collapse an old pipe if it were 20 or 30 feet under the soil but mine is only 5 feet deep. A greater danger to the pipe he said would be root penetration which can be controlled by maintenance.
I called Mike to tell him that I’d hired another plumber and he came right over to try to tackle the root ball again but to no avail saying he was sure «no plumber could possibly clean out that root ball». Also to his credit he did say that if this other plumber could, he’d refund the $ 272 I’d paid him, so enter plumber #2. He used a 4″ cutter head, which apparently is appropriate for cleaning a 4″ sewer line. (Mike had used a 2″ one.) Well, #2 was able to clean it out nearly perfectly: root ball nonexistent now and sewer line looking good.
So why the 2 stars? I appreciated the fact that Mike responded quickly to my complaint and did refund my money, but I’m not impressed with his plumbing skills or his prices (the second company charged less for the clean out and would do the sewer replacement for $ 6500!).

I am so grateful you were able to properly diagnose and remedy our plumbing issue. My husband and I are shocked at how many other plumbing companies completely mis-​diagnosed the issue in hopes of collecting a large sum of money from us, or due to their lack of expertise. I am so mad we wasted weeks with these other plumbers that each gave us a different answer which lead to tons of stress!

I stumbled upon Plumbing Solutions after doing some research on Unilocal!We had two leaky sink faucets and a shower that does not give out hot enough water. Mike and Leo came out to inspect. Upon inspection, Mike also discovered a small leak in the incoming pipe under the sink due to the older piping system that was installed when the house was built. It could have caused some water damage if it was not discovered. He recommended that we change the pipe to prevent future problem. We had to get specific cartridges for our faucets and Mike was able to obtain them the following day. They came and did all the necessary repairs on the specific day that we agreed on. They even arrived earlier to set things up.
The next morning, I had a different issue with the sink faucet that was fixed, and Mike was able to come out on hours’ notice to take a look. It turned out it was a different problem. Mike went and got the parts, and would not take money from us.
Mike is a true genuine guy, who is professional, friendly and honest. We will sure be using him again if there is a need.

BEST IN THE BUSINESS WITHOUT A DOUBT!!! You can bet your last dollar on these guys.
I would know given that I dealt with 3 – 4 different plumbing companies over the recent blockage I had. One was trying to get me to spend 8k to replace my sewer line from the clean out to the street which had nothing to do with the issue, one said it was a belly another said it was a crack in the sewer line with roots. I looked on Unilocal for the best rated plumber since I received so many mixed diagnostics and I came across Plumbing Solutions and I now see how they have that many perfect reviews.
Joel came and thoroughly and methodically checked everything, snaked it, ran a camera and found a piece of debris that was most likely flushed down the toilet by the contractors that flipped our home before we bought it. None of the other guys were able to correctly diagnose the culprit piece of debris. He is genuinely a good honest guy. He even refused to take my money to get the debris out as he said the sellers should take care of this for you. You won’t find a more stand up guy than Joel. Not to mention his pricing was competitive and fair. Most importantly, he provided piece of mind by properly diagnosing a problem that was literally keeping my wife and I up at night, thinking we bought a lemon which was going to cost us money we don’t have right now. That to us was priceless. My go to plumber for sure.
I can go on and on and I still haven’t said enough about Plumbing Solutions. But don’t take my word for it– ask yourself how anyone gets almost 200 five star reviews if they weren’t the real deal.

I had a clog in my sewer line and Mike and Leo helped unclog it in no time! They worked efficiently with the snake and showed me the tree roots that came out of the clean-​out pipe. The video of the sewer line is a great resource for determining any further work to be done in the future. Mike and Leo were very personable and professional! I would highly recommend them for any future work, if needed!

I wish I could give Mike 6 stars since the service was amazing. I had called last night since my shower valve had broken, forcing us to turn off the water supply. Instead of knocking down the walls to get to it, Mike went through the extra effort to remove it from the tight opening and capped the hot and cold water supply since we were going to remodel in the near future anyways. The work was done quickly and professionally. Before he left, he made sure the pipe was sealed and the leak was definitely fixed. He also gave us a bunch of information on how to prevent plumbing problems in the future, as well as tips for our future remodel. I will be calling Plumbing Solutions for all my future plumbing needs as well as referring them to friends.

Joel and his team are truly the best, believe the Unilocal hype. Taking time out of a stressful day to Unilocal them right now because they’re the reason it’s not as bad as it could be. A couple months ago we had a leak in the slab. They did a reroute and were not the cheapest or most expensive, but the most honest about the process and what did and did not need to get done. They did the job in one day, and left the place as they had found it. Today water is seeping up into the kitchen and I wanted to ensure it wasn’t still the pipe issue. Joel came out and spent an hour checking various things, and when he was sure it was from the rain and a problem with the foundation, he took a lot of time out to explain and show me what was happening. He even offered to speak with the HOA in case I had any issue. Hire these guys!

These guys were great! Had a leak in my shower, they came out the same day and were done in a little over an hour. Reasonably priced. Very friendly and super helpful in answering all my questions. I will definitely use Plumbing Solutions again!

I never post negative reviews but plumbing is a time-​sensitive matter and I did have a good feeling about Joel, but now I realize that he’s not going to be my go-​to guy anymore. Sorry, Joel. While I did like Joel’s service in the past, I tried to give him more of my business as I like to be loyal to good vendors but this time he seemed too busy to be bothered. Called him on a Saturday afternoon (he answered the call so it must not be a dedicated business line) and he said he wasn’t working and wouldn’t commit to anytime the following week either. Told him that I trusted him and wanted to give him my business again. (holy grail to ANY business) Didn’t refer me, just blew me off. (twice) Just wanted him to clear a shower drain. My loyalty does come with conditions, like be professional Every Time.

Mike from Plumbing solutions did an awesome job! I had pipes break in my garage they came out and fixed it, and now it looks better then before! He also found a leak in my water heater closet. This saved me a lot of money in water damage repairs. Mike had excellent customer service and just an all around cool guy.

Quick, professional and just a pleasure to interact with. We had a glass shatter in our garbage disposal. I just assumed it had broke the unit. But, after the plumber inspected it, he thought it was salvageable and ended up disassembling it and just clearing it out. It was an honest assessment and probably saved me a few hundred dollars in the end.

We’ve used Plumbing Solutions twice and will use them again if we need more help. The first time was for cutoff valves (angle stops) under our master bath sink. The second time was the cutoff valve for our second bath toilet and a float replacement in the same unit.
Both times the work was done super fast and efficiently. No mess for me to clean up. No drips for me to worry about. Joel even had a great personality and sense of humor!
While they may not be the absolute cheapest plumber on the block, you know you’re going to get high quality performance for a reasonable price.

This is likely one of the best plumbing solutions I’ve ever worked with. Monday morning, President’s Day, water gushing from the curb, no water pressure inside. 2 hours later, Mark is onsite. He diagnoses, prognoses, and a very reasonable $ quote is made. We get Mark and Landlord on the phone. We agree. Mark starts work immediately.
Mark does EXACTLY what he says he’s going to do. He finds the leak and fixes the problem. We’re talking MAJOR work. Like, digging a 20′ trench in the heat (yeah, ok, we have heat in Oakland today… Pulling old corrugated pipe (literally, rusted 80 year old pieces of it). and «pushing» a new copper pipe.
Mark is my hero.
Then. the owner, Joel shows up. I think he’s Quality Assurance but he certainly capped off the whole experience.
These guys are truly professional.

Believe the reviews. Mike is the man! Before I get into our specific issues, I want to talk about Mike. This guy is the epitome of who you would want doing work for you. He’s friendly, professional, honest, and genuinely cares about his customers; a truly rare find nowadays.
We had what we thought to be a minor clog in our sewer lateral, so I called these guys up and they were able to come out the same day. It turns out that our problem was much bigger than expected after Mike tried to snake the pipe twice without success. We agreed that he would start a spot repair first, then examine the entire pipe when everything was dug up to see if it warranted replacing. He told me that it would take at least 48 hours before he could begin digging (for permits, USA marking, etc.). He handled the entire permitting process and was actually able to start work a day earlier than expected!
It turns out we had major root intrusion so I asked if we should go ahead and redo the entire pipe. He recommended against it because the rest of the pipe looked fine. I agreed and he finished up the repairs, which took a total of about 4 hours. After the repairs were complete, I asked him if I should have him come back every 6 months to at least inspect it, to which he also recommended against. Instead he gave me some great advice on how I can maintain the pipe myself with off the shelf stuff (RootX).
I mean, I’m practically throwing money at this guy and he could have very well taken advantage of the situation, but as I said before he’s honest and genuinely wants to help people. I’m definitely using them in the future for my plumbing needs. I’m an extremely satisfied customer.
